Why the difference in the Photos app functionality between the iPad 2 and iPhone 4?

Photo Stream works well on my iPad 2. For whatever reason, iPad 2 has more functionality in the iOS 5 "Photos" app than the iPhone 4. This may be because my iPad is 64GB and the iPhone is 32GB. Nevertheless, the iPad has the following folders in the Photos app (the first four of which match OSX iPhoto on the Mac in numbers of photos; only the order of matches in the Photo Stream folder; the last folder is not in iPhoto, or is not readily displayed there as far as I can tell):
"Photos" - corresponding to the Photos folder in iPhoto Library (not in the same order)
"Photo Stream" - virtually identical to Photo Stream in iPhoto
"Albums" - same as in iPhoto, including "Last 12 Months" and "Last Import"
"Events" - about one quarter the number of Events (groupings of photos) as are listed in iPhoto
"Places" - not displayed in iPhoto, as far as I can tell
The Photos app in the iPhone only lists "Albums," starting with Camera Roll and Photo Stream, with the option of adding more albums (no option to delete) - but not like the Albums that are displayed on the iPad.
What accounts for this difference between iPad and iPhone?

Thanks for the report.

  • App Store app nearly unusable on iPad 3 and iPhone 4 with iOS 6

Thankfully I do not have any WiFi troubles with iOS 6 but I am facing another problem. iOS 6 offers that revamped App Store app which looks nice to me on my iPad 3 and iPhone 4, both using iOS 6. But it is nearly impossible to use that App Store app. I am quite often moving. apps onto and. off my devices and if possible I am doing it without using the USB connection to my mac, I like to use WiFi.
I have to admit that I am owning more than 3.000 different apps by now. It always took some time to het those apps listed in iTunes on my Mac, in iOS 5 it also was no high speed listing. but at least it worked. Now after changing to iOS 6 the simple listing takes much more time. When changing the lsting type from "actual" to "by name" it even takes more time (and why is it still not possible to set the prefered view type within some preferences option?). When the view type finally has changed scrolling, detail look onto selected applications and the overall handling of this lsting is awfully slow.
But the really annoying thing is that I can not scroll further than letter "D" or "E" - the App Store app constantly crashes (but remains active in the taskbar). You can imagine that this behaviour takes even more time on a iPhone 4.....!
Does anybody in here face the same troubles?

P.S. I solved the problem now and I'm only left with "installing..." status. Here's how got rid of that "waiting..." status:
    1) Open iTunes with your device connected to the laptop or pc.
    2) On the left sidebar, press "Apps".
    3) Then on the lower right, you'll see like in my case, "30 (this varies on the number of apps available for updates) Updates Available".
    4) Click on the desired app you want to update.
    5) Lastly, after updating, press the "sync" button.
It worked, though my apps are currently stuck on "installing..." status. I don't know if this'll work in your case, but there's no harm in trying the procedure, right?

  • Sending mail on both the iPad (1) and iPhone (4) is extremely slow.

Why does it take so long to send a simple e-mail message (with no attachments) using either the iPad or iPhone?  I have had this problem on both devices.  I don't experience the problem using my MacBook Pro on the same WiFi connection.  The problem is the same on different WiFi networks and also on the 3G wireless network.  Sometimes it can take up to 15 minutes for the message to be sent, and in the meantime, I can send several messages from my laptop.  I'm using an iPad1and iPhone4, both using version 5.0.1.  This problem has existed since I bought them, before updating the software, so I don't think it's a software issue.

I can't explain what your problem is but I don't have any slowdown in sending email on my iPad.
What are you using to send the email? The Mail App? Safari?
Have you checked your email account settings?

  • Are the usb cables for the iPad 2 and iPhone 4s interchangeable?

Can I use my usb cable provided by my ipad 2 to connect my iPhone 4s to my iMac or vice versa. I noticed the usb cable for the iPad 2 is slightly thicker. Doesn't it mean it's better or faster in terms of transmission of data? Thank you.

    Identical cables.

I keep getting this message when I try to sync my notes in a google account this message keeps popping up... mail couldn't discover the account settings.  My mail shows up, contacts and calendar sync fine, and notes from other emails sync fine.  But this one email will NOT let me sync?????? Any suggestions?

    Go to Settings>Mail Contacts Calendars
Scroll down to Mail section and find Show. Selecting something different here may solve your problem. Mine says "50 Recent Messages". You may need more.

  • Ipad 3rd generation does not seem to handle photos very well.  I have a ipad 2nd and iphone 4s, and they both are able to handle photos that my Ipad 3rd can not.

So here is my experience.  When I first aquired the IPAD 3rd, I did the normal sync with Itunes (windows) and found that very few of my photos came over.  Even though these were the same photos that are on my IPAD 2nd. Same for my phone 4s.  After much consternation, I was able to get photos on the IPAD 3rd, by identifying photos which could not be synced.  These "problem" photos sync fine with my ipad 2nd and iphone 4s.   There is also another issue with IPAD 3rd.  There are photos that take 5-10 seconds or so to "focus".  Even though the focus issue is not apparent on my other devices (ipad 2nd, iphone 4s and windows computer).   The other related issue is with the sync. process.  Syncing photos will quit the entire sync. operation when it encounters a problem photo (with no errors), rather then skipping the bad photo and moving on.  I analyzed some of the problem photos and could not identify any single issue - there are all a little different.  For example one was the result of changing the format options from optimized to standard... but this was not always the case. Others were chaning the format from "Exif JPEG" to "JPEG". while others I could not ever get to sync. In all cases I did a save as using various options.    However, the bottom line was that all of these same photos sync fine and view fine on my ipad 2nd and iphone 4s.   I have not yet figured out what is causing the issues with focus delays.   I use an olympus pen camera (12 meg resolution).

    This works!
go to settings> general>restrictions>privacy and allow changes.  Make sure that your camera is on under allow!

  • With new Photos app, I can no longer drag and drop photos into other applications as I did in the past with iPhoto.

With the new Photos app, I can no longer drag and drop photos into other applications as I did with iPhoto.  For instance, I have a photo collage app that in the past, I could just drag in the photos I wanted to include.  Now, I can DRAG the photos, but they do not DROP.  So, I have to go through the export process.  It is tedious.  What am I missing?  Where can I turn on the drag and drop feature for Photos?

YOu're not looking in the right palce. That's inside the iPhoto Application.
You need to look inside the iPhoto Library
    As I sid above:
Go to your Pictures Folder and find the iPhoto Library there
