Why the differences between iTunes Online stores?

I am English, but live in the Netherlands. Therefore, I have to use the Dutch iTunes store.
Having searched the U.K., Dutch, German and even the Norwegian site, I am curious, and somewhat annoyed, as to why some albums are available on one country's site and not on another. If an album I want is available on the Norwegian site I am unable to purchase it using my Dutch account.
Why can't I purchase everything that iTunes has to offer through one online store?

To expand on what Roger has said, those agreements are "controlled" by the record companies/copyright owners, so it's not due to iTunes or Apple that the music you want isn't available in the Netherlands.

  • What's the difference between mac app store, app store, iTunes store?

what's the difference between mac app store, app store and whatever itunes stores out there?

If you saying that the App Store on my phone and the App Store section of itunes on my computer are the same store,
    It is.
could you please be kind enough to show me how to reach the 724 apps on my computer (just to look at, not to buy) that I get on my iPhone when I type: "chinese transla".
If I search the iTunes Store for "chinese translation", I get dozens of apps listed. Make sure you're searching the iTunes Store, not your library. The search box should say "search store". Also confirm that both your iPhone and iTunes on your computer are pointed to the same country's iTunes Store. Different countries' stores carry different items, so it's possible your computer is pointed to a different country's store. Look at the bottom of the iTunes window and make sure the round flag icon is the one for your country.
Maybe the App Shopper has all the same apps that are on my phone?  I just looked, they say they have 1,000 apps.  Is this a safe site to buy from?
App Shopper is not a store. The only store you can buy iPhone apps from is the iTunes Store. App Shopper is just a compendium site that lists apps that are available in the iTunes Store. When you click to buy an app, you're taken to the iTunes Store.
    Regards.

What is the difference between iTunes Gift Card & iTunes Digital Code?

iTunes gift cards are cards that you can purchase in the Apple Store or authorized retail store. After redeeming an itunes gift card, your account should have some store credits that is equal to the worth of the gift card that you redeemed. It's as good as money in the store.
An iTunes digital code is a code that comes with a specific item when you redeem it. You do not have any choices for the item that you will get for the code. It can be a movie code or a video code.

From my phone to a friends the message box is usually blue, but sometimes green. Why the change between the same 2 phones?

If it's green, it either means that your imessage is turned off in the settings or imessage is turned off on your friend's settings
also, it will turn green instead of blue if you're not within good cellular data coverage and not in wifi

  • Why the difference between the Extension list and the Plug-in list

On my Extension list I can see -
    Java Console 6.0.22 Enable
    Java Console 6.0.23 Enable
    Java Console 6.0.24 Enable
    Java Console 6.0.25 Disable
The old versions have been disabled.
On the Plug-in list I can see -
    Java Deplyment Toolkit 6.0.250.6
    Java Platform SE 6 U25
If I check via the Control Panel I appear to have only
    Java 6 Update 25 installed.
    Why the discrepancy?
Why do I still see references to older versions, and presumably not on the computer any more, shown on the Extensions list?

That link was most helpful. Opening FireFox as an Admin, something I had never thought of, allowed me to remove the dead wood from the 'Extensions' display.
Previously, the only way I could be certain exactly what was actually available was by visiting Control Panel ... Programs and Features

  • What exactly it the difference between iTunes Wifi-Sync and iCloud Backup?

Okay, i do not yet have a mac, only an iPod touch, but am (hopefully) buying a mac soon (MacBook Pro to be specific). I buy all my music etc on my iPod, and am currently use iCloud sync which i have all the buttons in the ON position. Anyway, i am rather confused after reading alot about the two methods of syncing there exact differences. When i get my mac can i use both- for reasurance or do i have to choose one? Also, does iTunes wifi sync my photos and videos (thats photos ive taken and videos ive made/filmed) and does iCloud do this. Also if i use both photostream and iCloud/iTunes for my photos, will that create double ups of all my photos?
    Thanks
    The_Ele4ant

Wi-Fi sync works in the same way as syncing over a USB cable, albeit more slowly, and can be used when your iTunes library can see your device on your local network.

iCloud backup saves the settings and documents from your apps to the cloud instead of your own computer. It seems you either backup to your computer or to iCloud, but not both, at least not on a regular basis. You may still be able to trigger a local backup manually when using iCloud for backup.

Photostream operates independently of either of the previous features to move your pictures to your computer and other iOS devices when in range of any working Wi-Fi connection.

  • Difference between writting a store proc in orch and in sql

Can someone explain the difference between calling a store procedure in Orchestration instead of calling a store procedure in SQL server management studio?
Which way is better? in orchestration or in sql server?
    Christiane

    Hi Christiane,
SQL management studio is a tool to perform various actions on SQL. Thus you can create and execute stored procedure using it. Whereas when working with BizTalk it is the adapter which carries out that functionality (SQL adapter and WCF-SQL adapter).
You can have look at following article to understand about operations on sql using BizTalk :

  • Very basic info?  Difference between iTunes library, folder etc

    Hi folks,
I often have a hard time getting the hang of something because the newbie information doesn't start at a place that is basic enough for me. In the case of iTunes (and Apple topics, in general) I continue to struggle since I can't ever find a glossary that is basic enough. So, as embarrassing it is to ask, what is the difference between iTunes file, folder, library? I guess my brain still organises my music the way I have always organised my collection of 5000+LPs and 5000+ CDs. Alphabetically by artist, chronologically by release date.
    Thanks.

  • What is the difference between undo tablespace and online redo log files.

what is the difference between undo tablespace and online redo log files. I am confused
as per my knowledge undo tablespace is used to store the undo information when a table is being updated so that, just incase we need to rollback a transaction we know what was present in the table earlier.
when a transaction fails the SMON performs the rollback of the data.
This undo data is stored in the undo tablespace and read consistency if any is enforced.
is my understanding till here correct?
Now, can this undo data/before image not be stored in the redo log buffer and online redolog files?
can redo-log files not store this information?
in fact, is it that when undo tablespaces exist in a database, the undo data/before image is stored in both the undo tablespace and also the redo log files?
    kindly clarify my doubt.
    thank you.

This question has been asked many times before. The answer is always the same.
Yes, redo contains the before image of data (and the after-image). Therefore, it **COULD** be used to roll back a transaction.
BUT... Redo is written sequentially. Using it to rollback your transaction would involve reading through all the redo written by maybe thousands of other people. It would be painfully slow.
Your transaction is, however, directly linked to just the UNDO that it generates (which is JUST the before image of the data). So, your undo is your undo and doesn't share space with anyone else's undo. Therefore, using it to roll back YOUR transaction is fast.
The fact that undo is only the before image of the data also makes it faster than wading through a sea of before and AFTER images as you'd find in redo. About twice as fast, in fact, since there's half the data. Roughly.
Redo also gets written and flushed to disk whenever there's a commit, 3 seconds are up or too much (1MB, actually) redo gets generated between flushes caused by other factors. Your redo gets flushed when those things happen, even if you haven't actually committed your transaction. And redo logs recycle themselves, meaning that your redo -even if your transaction hasn't been committed yet- can be over-written by later transactions. Try rolling back when that's happened, if redo was the source of your rollback data!
Undo, however, cannot be over-written if the transaction has not been committed. Ever. If you don't commit for three years, there will be three years' undo stored in your database (assuming you had the space, of course!).
I could go on, but that will do. Redo is there fore RECOVERY, after catastrophe. Undo is there for read-consistency (and the occasional change of mind). Two different functions. Two different mechanisms. Each one highly tuned to doing what it does, why it does it, most efficiently and effectively.

  • TS3899 Why is the number of e-mails higher on my iPhone than in my e-mail when I log into it on my computer?  The difference between the 2 keeps climbing.

Why is the number of e-mails higher on my iPhone than in my e-mail when I log into it from my computer?  And how do I fix it?  The number keeps climbing on my phone, making the difference between the two greater.

    You're welcome.
In order to have the account's Sent mailbox synchronized with the server with the Mail.app on your Mac and with the iPhone's Mail application, you must store the account's Sent mailbox on the server with each. The same applies to the account's Drafts and Trash mailboxes.
With store sent messages on the server deselected for the account preferences with the Mail.app on your Mac, create an "On My Mac" location mailbox. At the Mail.app menu bar go to Mailbox and select New Mailbox. Choose On My Mac for the mailbox location - which will be stored locally on your computer's hard drive and enter a name for the mailbox. You can name this mailbox MobileMe Sent. Select OK to create the mailbox, which will be available under "On My Mac" in the Mail.app mailboxes drawer.
Select your MobileMe Sent mailbox. Select a sent message in the mailbox and at the menu bar go to Edit and choose Select All. Follow this - at the Mail.app menu bar go to Message and select Move To and then select the new On My Mac location mailbox in the window provided. This will move all messages from the account's locally stored sent mailbox to the newly created On My Mac location mailbox. When this transfer has been completed, re-select store sent messages on the server for the account preferences.
Now do the same with the newly created On My Mac location mailbox where all sent messages were transferred to. Select a message in the mailbox and at the menu bar go to Edit > Select All. At the menu bar go to Message > Move To and select your MobileMe account's server stored Sent mailbox under Sent in the window provided. This will transfer all messages stored locally on your computer's hard drive from the newly created "On My Mac" location mailbox to the account's server stored Sent mailbox. These messages will no be available when accessing the account with the iPhone's Mail application.
