Why the forced country prefix in Messages?

I enter a local number in Messages - as I do on my iPhone, but in Messages on the Air, it adds +44.
I am registered with iCloud, dot mac etc in the UK, but live in Brazil, so I would like to remove this forced addition. Any ideas?

When i send or recieve image I get the "This photo is unavailable" msg (with a cross in the image placeholder)?
I've not come across any solution in this forum.
ruwim mentioned the problem is depended on IE version.
My version is 6.0.2900.5512.xpsp.080413-2111.
Is there anyone who can help me out with my problem?

Try to reset all Internet Explorer settings:

Next reset LAN settings:
Open Internet Explorer. Go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Connections -> LAN settings. Make sure that the only option selected is “Automatically detect settings”.
Next clear all Temporary Internet Files:
Open Internet Explorer -> Tools -> Internet Options -> General. In the section “Browsing history” press the “Settings” button and in the next window the “View files” button. Delete all files from the Temporary Internet Files folder.

Remove forced country line in contacts

Has anyone come across a way to remove the forced "Country" line in the iPad (and iPhone) address book? First we're force formatted into the antiquated (XXX) XXX-XXXX phone format, now it seems we're forced into adding another line to addresses that for many of us is unnecessary the vast majority of the time. I'm hoping there is a workaround.
Even when editing the addresses, or entering them initially, via the web-interface of MobileMe without any data in the Country field, the iPad (and iPhone) adds it.
To clarify, I am not asking how to change the country that is auto-populated (which for those needing to do this can be altered by going to Settings -> General -> International -> Region Format). I am asking how to remove any data from appearing in this line unless I specify a country. Thank you.

Asking for card details is a way of confirming that you are able to buy from that country's store, it doesn't necessarily mean that the card will be charged for the purchase (unless you are trying to gift content or an amount, that can only be done via a credit card) - have you tried entering the card, you should then get the 'none' option so that you can remove it

Until Bob Timmons gets back to you, first decide what you would like the Express to do. I understand you want it for AirPlay remote speakers, which you can certainly do.
I am assuming that you are not using an Apple AirPort router; if that's not the case stop here and let me know.
If your existing router is not an Apple AirPort Base Station, the Express:
can "join" an existing wireless network as a client, for the sole purpose of streaming music. If that's what you want to do, do not connect it to your router with an Ethernet cable.
can "extend" an existing wired network to serve as an additional wireless access point, which can also stream music. If that's what you want to do, connect its WAN port to an available LAN port on your router using an Ethernet cable.
Then, "hard reset" the Express according to the instructions below, and configure it. The prompts should be self-explanatory. If you run into trouble, describe which of the above two configurations you decided upon, and the point at which you're getting the "unexpected problem".
To "hard reset" an AirPort Base Station: make sure it's powered up, then gently press and hold its tiny reset button. Don't apply any more force than required to feel a tactile click. Keep it depressed for five to ten seconds, long enough for its LED to flash amber rapidly. Release the reset button. Then, the LED will glow amber steadily for about a minute. Iphoto on my macbook pro has stopped working. It comes up with a message saying that the library is either being used by another user or it is unreadable. Any ideas why I should be receiving this message?

Offered solution doesn't work:
Shut down and restart your computer, and then open iPhoto again. If the problem persists, try rebuilding your photo library. To do this, quit iPhoto, and then reopen it while keeping the Option and Command keys pressed. You can also try restoring your photo library from a backup.
I have already copied my photographs to the a library manager but when I tried to reuse iphoto and import the photos back into iphoto, it would not let me.

There is a possibility that when I went to update applications that I started to install Mavericks which I then interrupted and cancelled. I am not definite that this caused this problem but it was at about the same time as when this problem started.

I have already copied my photographs to the a library manager but when I tried to reuse iphoto and import the photos back into iphoto, it would not let me.
You can't "copy" your photos to the "library manager", there is just no way to any such thing.
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

why do I get an error message when I start safari 5.1 telling me I need to open browser in 32 bit mode in order to "view movie" ? This occurs when I start safari on the opening page (the page with all the boxes for most viewed web sites). This had never occurred with safari up until the latest updates to safari & OSX [Version 5.1 (6534.50)] and OSX 10.6.8.
also, I'm not trying to view a movie - this occurs for the page previews that load when safari opens.

Since iChat 6 the SMS option in the Menus has disappeared.
However if you add the number to a Buddy List as if it were Screen Name but with the leading +1 (as in +1234567890) it will work over AIM.
It only works to US phones on some Carriers.

disregard! i noticed someone else's post about signing out of the app store and signing in again and it worked.....

If that doesn't help, drag the App Store icon straight up off your Dock so it goes, "poof".
Now drag the App Store icon from your Applications folder to the Dock. Try updating your apps.

Apple did approve our in-app purchase without publishing the folio ahead of time.
I have a new question: Can I change the "Cleared for sale" attribute in the iTunes Connect interface from no to yes before a folio's scheduled publication date? Or should I wait until after the folio has been published?
I would think you could set the "Cleared for sale" attribute to yes before the publication date and it would not cause any problems since the folio is not available to purchase until it's published.
