Why the grub-mount command invoked ?
Do we have any clue upon this question ?
As I was on my Laptop I heard the CPU fun struggling and I ran the top command to see what's happening and I saw the grub-mount command (invoked by root) with a CPU footprint of 100%. My query is : why this command invoked ? I certainly didn't run this command (or any other command - I wasn't in terminal at all) and I also searched in all cron folders with
grep -Ri grub
and
grep -Ri fuse
but didn't result anything.
This is an Arch Linux with 3.13.6-1-ARCH x86_64. DE= GNOME and LXDE (I was on LXDE when this happened, if that matters, but I don't think so). I was on Firefox and browsing some pages when this happened.
The journalctl might help you to understand (or see) something I cannot. After some secs, I killed grub-mount (as you will notice in journal). Any other log or file to examine that could help , just tell me.
Best Regards

I read that thread but, maybe I'm missing something, I didn't see an actual solution in the thread. That being said, technically the man pages don't really claim mount actually supports UUID, only fstab. I suppose diskutil probably reads it for a reference as well since mounting via diskutil does indeed work. Unless someone comes up with a way to do with with mount I plan on just using diskutil in a LaunchAgent and making sure the correct settings are on to make sure the filesystem stays mounted without users logging in.

Why the Parameter Dialog not invoked with OpenReport RDC SDK?
Hai,
I am working in Crystal Reports XI Release 2 with Visual studio .Net 2003 (VC++).I am using RDC SDK
OpenReport function to create report.The report is generating without any fail.But the parameter dialog not invoked though the report is designed with parameter .
Here is the code snippet i used to generate
OnInitDialog()
CoInitialize(NULL);
IApplicationPtr m_Application;
IReportPtr m_Report;
HRESULT hr = m_Application.CreateInstance("CrystalRuntime.Application");
m_Report = m_Application->OpenReport("Sample.rpt");
m_Viewer.SetReportSource(m_Report);
m_Viewer.ViewReport();
It creates report in ActiveX viewer but the parameter dialog not invoked before showing in viewer.
But in my another project i have used Crystal report 8 and CRPE32 dll(8 version) API PEStartPrintJob
It invokes parameter dialog automatically before showing report in Viewer.
Thankyou,
SatheeshKumar
Edited by: SatheeshDharmaraj on Mar 18, 2009 12:29 PMPlease note:
The RDC is specifically designed around the COM technologies and is intended for use Visual Basic 6 developers; therefore, it is not recommended, nor tested, for use in a .NET application. This limits the support offering for the RDC in a .NET application; however, because COM is a supported technology in .NET the RDC is known to function as expected in a .NET application.
To support any issue encountered with the RDC in a .NET application, these issues need to be reproducible in a supported COM-based development tool (such as VB6).
Also, the RDC is a retired technology, no longer shipping in the current version of CR - CR 12.x:
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/80bd35e5-c71d-2b10-4593-d09907d95289
this may have implications to your applications lifecycle as CR XI r2 will be out of support June 10 of this year. See the following for more details:
Business Objects Product Lifecycles [original link is broken]
I'd recommend you forget about RDC in .NET and use the CR Assemblies for .NET.
Nevertheless, if you absolutely must stay with the RDC in .NET, the error suggests that you are either not using any database logon code, or the code is incorrect. To connect the report to a database, you must use the connection properties bag. More information on the connection properties bag is [here|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/00635998-751e-2b10-9cba-f50ee1e4ef81]
C++ code could look something like this:
bstrt bstrReportPath("C:
Documents and Settings
Mujeeb
Desktop
VC++
RDC_VCPP_CR10
Report1.rpt";);
m_Application.CreateInstance("CrystalRuntime.Application.10";);
m_Report = m_Application-->OpenReport(bstrReportPath, vtTempCopy);
m_Report-->DiscardSavedData();
m_Report>Database>Tables>GetItem(1)>ConnectionProperties-->DeleteAll();
m_Report>Database>Tables>GetItem(1)>ConnectionProperties-->Add("Provider","SQLOLEDB.1";);
m_Report>Database>Tables>GetItem(1)>ConnectionProperties-->Add("Data Source","10.10.17.30";);
m_Report>Database>Tables>GetItem(1)>ConnectionProperties-->Add("User ID","sa");
m_Report>Database>Tables>GetItem(1)>ConnectionProperties-->Add("Password","excellence");
m_Report>Database>Tables>GetItem(1)>ConnectionProperties-->Add("Database","Northwind");
m_Report>Database>Verify();
m_Viewer.SetReportSource(m_Report);
m_Viewer.ViewReport();
Now, you do not have to use the deleteAll property and simply log on to the database. Unfortunately only code I have handy for that is as described in the above doc. The code woudl be something like this in VB:
(ODBC)
report.database.tables(1).connectionProperties("DSN") = "the DSN"
report.database.tables(1).connectionProperties("user ID") = "the user ID"
report.database.tables(1).connectionProperties("database" = "the database name"
report.database.tables(1).connectionProperties("password") = "the password"
(if using OLE DB)
report.database.tables(1).connectionProperties("data source") = "the server name"
report.database.tables(1).connectionProperties("user ID") = "the user ID"
report.database.tables(1).connectionProperties("initial catalog") = "the database name"
report.database.tables(1).connectionProperties("password") = "the password"
(if using native connection)
report.database.tables(1).connectionProperties("server:) = "the server name"
report.database.tables(1).connectionProperties("user ID") = "the user ID"
report.database.tables(1).connectionProperties("password") = "the password"
I also recommend searching our notes database for more resources:
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/advancedsearch?cat=sdn_ossnotes&query=&adv=true
The downloads section may also contain C++ sample code, but I am not sure if there will be anything that uses the connection properties bag. E.g.; do not use deprecated methods such as
.LogOnserver, .SetNthTableLogOnInfo, etc.

Why isn't UUID working with the mount command/fstab in OS X Lion?
Trying to set up an external drive to mount automatically at boot.
# cat /etc/fstab
UUID=55E542B9-60B5-3F47-B845-D9DF3EC30D92 /tmp/foo hfs rw,noauto 0 0
# diskutil info /dev/disk2s2 | grep UUID
Volume UUID: 55E542B9-60B5-3F47-B845-D9DF3EC30D92
# mount /tmp/foo
GetMasterBlock: Error 2 opening UUID=55E542B9-60B5-3F47-B845-D9DF3EC30D92
GetMasterBlock: Error 2 opening UUID=55E542B9-60B5-3F47-B845-D9DF3EC30D92
mount_hfs: No such file or directory
Tutorials I've found seem to indicate this should work but I'm not having any luck. The diskutil mount command works fine, but I'm trying to get this automated without writing my own LaunchAgent to run some shell script. My options are rw,noauto because right now I'm just experimenting and I'm not really worried about mounting at boot, this isn't even the real disk i'll end up using.I read that thread but, maybe I'm missing something, I didn't see an actual solution in the thread.

Mount CD/Image failed: mount command returned 0xc059
Hi
When i try to open a ISO Image or insert a DVD, then sometimes the error "no mountable filesystems" occour.
This happens not with every CD/DVD but always with the same.
I think only when the disk has both a windows/iso9600 and a mac/hfs filesystem.
Also this happens on my iMac27 AND MacBookPro15 (both upgraded from 10.6 to 10.7) but NOT on my new iMac27 (native 10.7)
I tried to mount it manually with "sudo hdiutil attach -verbose -debug /dev/disk1" and get some debug info.
On the failing machines i see the entry: mount command returned 0xc059 ... and
on the working machine there is: mount command returned 0x0
Maybe there went something wrong with the upgrade?
Is there a way to fix it without re-installing 10.7 and loosing all settings/programs?
Thank you,
matthias

hdiutil: attach failed - Keine aktivierbaren DateisystemeIf a game is testing whether it was run from a CD or DVD then that's part of its piracy protection. Which then implies that you may be trying to run pirated software with which we cannot really help since the Apple Discussions is provided by Apple.
On the other hand if you have the legitimate disc and are simply trying to run the game without having to insert the disc, then I'm afraid you won't be able to do that if the game software is using this as part of the software protection scheme.
Assuming you aren't using pirated software, read the user guide that came with the game to see if the game can be copied and run exclusively from the hard drive. If the game has no copy protection, then this should be feasible. -
Why i can't to repair the Grub Error 15?
Hi.
Unfortunely, Arch Linux don't work for me.
I tried to fix the Grub Error 15, without success.
I have two hard disks, one installed in /dev/sda (with Ubuntu)
the other in /dev/sdb and it is where I want to install Arch.
As I do not want complications, simply i assigned /dev/sdb1 to "/" and /dev/sdb5 to swap. /home /boot /etc and other directories are in the same partition as /.
The kernel are in the /boot directory, the files are /boot/vmlinuz26 and /boot/initrd.img (i don't remember the exact name of this last .img file)
My menu.lst are as following
default 0
timeout 3
title Arch Linux
root (hd1,0)
kernel /boot/vmlinuz26 root=/dev/sdb1 ro
initrd /boot/initrd26.img
However, always shows me the Grub Error 15 (File not found).
I enter to the Grub command line
grub > root (hd1,0)
Filesystem is ext3, partition type 0x83
grub > setup (hd1)
Checking if '/boot/grub/stage1' exists... yes
Other checkings (I don't remember which now) also passed and exists (they say "Checking if 'file' exists..... yes").
But when I boot from the second hard disk, the boot fails and the damn grub error 15 appears.
Nothing and none of the tutorials that I found in Google works.
What i'm doing bad?
Thanks!
EDIT:
Here is a summary of check with efsck, to discard failures on the disk, however, had many attempts with error when reading certain blocks like this
Error reading block 2163066 (Attempt to read block from filesystem resulted in short read) when getting the next node -i to examine

Last edited by El-Dani (2009-02-21 03:49:55)I typed these commands in grub command line
root (hd1,0)
setup (hd0)
... and then?
I not understand why appears the same error. Mi menu lst is here
title Arch Linux
root (hd1,0)
kernel /boot/vmlinuz26 root=/dev/sdb1 ro
initrd /boot/kernel26.img
vmlinux26 and kernel26.img exists in /boot directory. I want to boot from first partition of second hard disk, which are sdb1.
Are there other way to boot Arch? (which is installed in the second hard disk, in sdb1)... maybe editing the grub using to boot Ubuntu? (Ubuntu is installed in sda1)
Is valid simply adding the lines of my menu.lst described above and paste it in menu.lst of Ubuntu?
I boot Ubuntu normally from first disk, first partition. Here is the menu.lst of the disk installed with Ubuntu
title Ubuntu 8.04.2, kernel 2.6.24-16-generic
root (hd0,0)
kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.24-16-generic root=UUID=5b72d0b0-af94-4e37-ba6b-13008ce75e31 ro quiet splash
initrd /boot/initrd.img-2.6.24-16-generic
As you can see, Ubuntu is in the partition /dev/sda1 (hd0,0). Can I simply adding the arch lines to this menu.lst, and boot from first disk as normally i do? I want to select booting Ubuntu or Arch. -

Why is my BDC_CURSOR command not working to position the cursor?
Why is my BDC_CURSOR command not working to position the cursor? Here are the details regarding my issue.
I am writing a BDC to mass delete routing material assignments using transaction CA02. I am OK to navigate through the initial screen to go to the Header screen and from here I am OK to navigate to the Material Assignments screen. But once here, I cannot get the BDC_CURSOR command to take me into the list. Here are the commands I am using. Please let me know what I may try differently.
CA02 Material Assignment - Set position <-- this resets list of materials to correct position
PERFORM bdc_dynpro USING 'SAPLCZDI' '1010'.
PERFORM bdc_field USING 'BDC_CURSOR' 'RC27X-ENTRY_ACT'.
PERFORM bdc_field USING 'BDC_OKCODE' '=ENT1'.
PERFORM bdc_field USING 'RC27X-ENTRY_ACT' c_position.
CA02 Material Assignment - Delete
PERFORM bdc_dynpro USING 'SAPLCZDI' '1010'.
PERFORM bdc_field USING 'BDC_CURSOR' 'MAPL-MATNR(01)'. <-- this is not working to set the cursor into the list
PERFORM bdc_field USING 'BDC_OKCODE' '=LOE'. " trash can
PERFORM bdc_field USING 'RC27X-ENTRY_ACT' c_position.
CA02 Material Assignment - Green Check OK
PERFORM bdc_dynpro USING 'SAPLCZDI' '1010'.
PERFORM bdc_field USING 'BDC_CURSOR' 'RC27X-ENTRY_ACT'.
PERFORM bdc_field USING 'BDC_OKCODE' '=BACK'. " check mark
PERFORM bdc_field USING 'RC27X-ENTRY_ACT' c_position.Thank you for your reply.
I had used SM35 to record. However, I was not aware of the "create program" feature. I had commented out a section from my previous post which I have now added back (latest code below). But it still did not resolve the issue.
When I execute with dismode = 'N', I get back error message "No batch input data for screen SAPLCZDI 1010".
When I execute with dismode = 'E' (only show dynpros when error), it stops at the material selection screen without placing my cursor in the list. I can then MANUALLY click to set the cursor position in the list, MANUALLY click the trashcan, it then uses my BDC command to respond to the popup asking "Do you want to delete", still leaving me at the material selection screen. I can then MANUALLY click the green check (or enter), then it continues with the BDC to go back to the previous screen, and saves. But it still will not place my cursor in the material selection list (SAPLCZDI screen 1010).
Here is code used. It is the second section of code labeled "CA02 Material Assignment - Delete" that is not working.
CA02 Material Assignment - Set position
this code functions to position the desired material to first in screen list
PERFORM bdc_dynpro USING 'SAPLCZDI' '1010'.
PERFORM bdc_field USING 'BDC_CURSOR'
'RC27X-ENTRY_ACT'.
PERFORM bdc_field USING 'BDC_OKCODE'
'=ENT1'.
PERFORM bdc_field USING 'RC27X-ENTRY_ACT'
c_position.
CA02 Material Assignment - Delete
PERFORM bdc_dynpro USING 'SAPLCZDI' '1010'.
PERFORM bdc_field USING 'BDC_CURSOR'
'MAPL-MATNR(01)'.
PERFORM bdc_field USING 'BDC_OKCODE'
'=LOE'. " trash can
PERFORM bdc_field USING 'RC27X-ENTRY_ACT'
c_position.
Acknowledge Pop-Up Screen
PERFORM bdc_dynpro USING 'SAPLSPO1' '0100'.
PERFORM bdc_field USING 'BDC_OKCODE'
'=YES'.
CA02 Material Assignment - Green Check OK
PERFORM bdc_dynpro USING 'SAPLCZDI' '1010'.
PERFORM bdc_field USING 'BDC_CURSOR'
'RC27X-ENTRY_ACT'.
PERFORM bdc_field USING 'BDC_OKCODE'
'=BACK'. " check mark
PERFORM bdc_field USING 'RC27X-ENTRY_ACT'
c_position. -
Why the step-and-repeat function (command+d) isn't working in Illustrator CS5?
Why the step-and-repeat function (command+d) isn't working in Illustrator CS5?
I am trying this. Take an object, move it some inches on the right while holding the option key, so I duplicate it.
Usually, I pressed on command+d to duplicate this action on and on (duplicate the object and moving it some inches away), but now it is not working.
any idea?kwakoo,
It may be time for the list:
The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file, and when it is not caused by issues with opening a file from external media. You may have tried/done some of them already; 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
If possible/applicable, you should save current artwork first, of course.
1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to at least 5 times);
3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible), for CS3 - CC you may find the folder here:
https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/kb/preference-file-location-illustrator.html
5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
Even more seriously, you may:
6) Uninstall (ticking the box to delete the preferences), run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

Why the system invokes card.toString() by itself

When Card3 is instantiated and then printed out.The result is, as if the card.toString()

When my most front window is a safari one and I use the shortcut key "Command N", it opens a new finder window and a new safari window at the same time. Why does it happen?

Re: Why is my Finder window popping up when I open my Safari window?
Jan 20, 2008 7:58 PM (in response to alak)
Open the General tab of the Safari preferences and correct the home page; the default page is this one. If it has become set to a folder on an FTP server or a local drive, that request will be sent to the Finder. (28252)
iMac Late 2007 Core 2 Duo, Mac OS X (10.5.1) -
hello, I update my mac pro to 10.10. Why the photoshop cs6 change to slowly now. When I change the tools like brush to command+Z, It's will be freeze a while. why? and how can I improve?
what a long post....Apple, btw, does not read this stuff, so ranting, raving, and complaining here might make you feel good, but it does no good at all. That being said, I, too have a Mac Pro Quad Core Xeon with 6 gigs of ram and an nVidia 8800 GT graphics card (not as good as yours, alas) and I've had no problems at all with it. Yes, it doesn't have Thunderbolt, but maybe we Mac pro owners will get lucky and someone will come out with an adapter (probably not). No, you probably don't have to throw away your Mac Pro, but if you do, I'll take it, for a small "recycling" fee >:-) That was a joke. Yes, the Mac Pro's future isn't quite clear, YET. Hopefully that will improve very soon. As for not being able to upgrade to Mountain Lion. Don't worry about that too much, Nobody is forcing you to do that. Your Mac Pro won't quit working if it isn't installed. From what I've heard, you should give the new OS a chance, and wait to get it, in case there might be some bugs, or stuff not working with the new OS, which has been known to happen. Yes, we Mac Pro owners don't like being treated like mushrooms-kept in the dark, and being fed......... but Apple is Apple and it will do what it does, and there is nothing you or me can really do to change that. All I can say is....trust, have faith, be patient, go for a walk, do something else to take your mind off of this problem. IF apple decides to drop the Mac Pro for good, and that's a big "IF", I think they will anger a whole bunch of people
which isn't good. However, that hasn't happened...YET. Let us hope that it doesn't

Why did they skip the "save as" command in the last version of Keynote? How do I rename an existing keynote presentation quickly without the "Save As" command??

i just uograded to the new lion, and its a good OS. but i checked that although the language is english, then why are my dock command optons in german? that is also the case with my mission control headings. is there a way to fix this?
hey mate, sorry for the late reply.
thanks once again for the suggestions - after trying all of them, nothing really worked!
in fact, the situation became worse, as my macbook crashed, had to restart in safemode, and now i cannot access my dock and any lion-based apps (launch pa, mission control, etc....)
I even took my macbook to a nearby macbook outlet (not store) and they said to wait for the new 10.7.1 update, and although the processor has become slightly faster, I am yet able to access my dock.
they store itself suggested that i should downgrade to snow leopard again, however i am abroad for a while and dont have access to my installation disk, and it would require me to transfer MUCH data (ironically a thunderbolt port would have been useful!)
have you got any other suggestions? and any other poster would be truly welcome!

Why is tail unix command not working properly on a mounted drive?
I mounted a remote drive on my mac, smb://some-windows-host/some-folder.
I thought I'd be able to do a 'tail -f' on a file on this mounted drive, but it seems the changes aren't coming through. What's wrong?
Do I have to enable someting?
Thank you so much.
JS.Kind of late, but for anyone that sees this in the future.
It's possible that the process that is modifying your file is creating a new file with the same filename. The 'tail -f' command reads the file based on it's 'file descriptor'. When the file gets rewritten by the other process, then the file descriptor changes.
So to track a file by it's name instead of it's descriptor, you should use a capital 'F', like 'tail -F'. -
Why isn't the enable prefetch command working?
I shut off DNS prefetching to test an internet performance problem that I'm having....
I then tried using the command:
defaults delete com.apple.safari WebKitDNSPrefetchingEnabled
....in a Terminal window to re-enable DNS prefetching and I got this message after hitting enter:
2013-11-18 20:21:24.479 defaults[359:507]
Domain (com.apple.safari) not found.
Defaults have not been changed.
Any idea what this means? Am I to assume that because of this error that DNS prefetching has not been re-enabled correctly?
Thanks,
JohnHi Linc....Thanks. I'll take your word for it......and I say that only because I had just issused the command to disable prefetching right before I typed in the re-enable command. So.....it should have been disabled.
Instead of using the command above to re-enable it, I tried this one instead that I read about somewhere:
defaults write com.apple.safari WebKitDNSPrefetchingEnabled -boolean true
.....and I got no error on that one.
Is there a command that can be issued to tell whether pre-fetching is on or off?

Feed Not Working -- file problems?
