Why the smaller call-end button on ios8. Its annoying :(

The new call-end icon is a small red circle on ios8. Earlier it was a nice big spacious bar. So easy to use. Well thought of by Jobs. Now this circle icon is PITA to use. Why undo what Jobs did? Please bring back the bar. Same goes with for the keypad. There was no need to change it. It was good the way Jobs did it on the ios4 or ios5 I forget (iphone 4s). Looks like the engineers at Apple have much time on their hands and they just go try to fix something that's working!

What makes you think "Jobs" had anything to do with the earlier design? Every time someone doesn't like something on their iDevice, they invoke Steve Jobs - it's annoying (to paraphrase).
If you want to complain, do so to Apple directly. There is no one from Apple here - just users like you:

How can I use the "home" and "end" buttons

I have an external apple keyboard (full style, with number pad and all) plugged into my macbook. However, the "home" and "end" buttons don't function the way I'd like (i.e. they don't go to the beginning or end of a line).
Can I ever get this to work or does it just not function with a laptop that doesn't have that function in the first place. I'd like to not have to use multiple keystrokes just to get a similar home/end result.

Not sure why you are charged for calls on this, as standard you would get free evening and weekends and there are packages for unlimited anytime.

HELP PLEASE!!!!! N95 #9 + [call end] buttons fault...

Im having a very annoying problem with this damned phone whenevery i try to use the number 9 key either whilst typing in a number or putting a 9 or w,x,y,z into a text messade or application it just returns the phone straight to the menu screen (saving the message into drafts) making it almost impossible to send text messages or dial out! Also when i press the call end button it flashes a number 9 onto the screen briefly then it disappears! The phone is on the o2 network with firmware v11.0.026. Has anybody else suffered with this or have any ideas how to resolve it? I have tried *#7370# with no joy, and the software updater says that the latest firmware available for my product code is v11.0.026!

I had the same dreaded "#9 key error", turned out that steel shaving were being attracted into my device and "sticking" to the board and wires between the main board & keyboards respectively.
Opened the phone myself (warranty doesnt cover shavings),
removed all three speakers,used a large magnet to pull the shavings out,wiped the inside clean with a dry cloth & installed brand new speakers.
Problem solved.Minimum cost.
In conclusion,I'd say the N95 is more of an office/on the road type of phone,not well suited for industrial use. Still love the phone and would rather lay out every six months for new speakers then settle for a lesser device.

Few more reasons why....? Please read below:
SAPscript technology is based on a mainframe product from the 1980s,
while Smart Forms have only been around since (roughly) 2001. With that sort of time gap,
there are bound to be significant differences between the two tools. As you have noted correctly, client dependence is a fundamental one.
Although SAPscript has had some incremental improvements over time,
its forms have always been -- under the hood -- relatively passive objects, with minimal embedded logic.
These forms were designed to be driven and controlled by ABAP programs,
much in the way ABAP programs read in database tables to produce reports;
if you ever download a SAPscript form (e.g., via utility program RSTXSCRP),
and look at the portable text file it produces you'll see what I mean.
Many text objects (e.g., invoice header texts) are bound directly to documents which are client-dependent, so it makes sense for these text objects to also be client-dependent. From a complexity standpoint, SAPscript forms are close enough to these text objects where I can see how it made sense at the time to make them client-dependent too.
Conversely, a Smart Form is significantly more robust and complex. For instance, it can contain program nodes and nested tables with patterns. When a Smart Form is compiled, it generates an ABAP function module and these are always client-independent. This is appropriate, given that this form has more in common with an ABAP program than its predecessor. For instance, when a print program calls a Smart Form, the form itself takes over to produce output, without any further direction from the print program. In fact, the join is so seamless that I often find myself using a Smart Form's Initialization section for logic to handle any data gathering not handled by the print program. I would never even think to attempt this with SAPscript.
Several factors figured into SAP's decision to make Smart Forms client-independent, including customer feedback. There are significant advantages to client-independence. For instance, a change made in one development client happens immediately across all development clients. Among other things, this means we don't have to waste time figuring which client contains the most recent version -- they all do! In addition, transporting Smart Forms is easier, since we can safely bundle them together in the same transport as their client-independent print programs (no worry about mixing client-dependent and independent objects).

During a call - End button (or any others) don't work, can't end call

I've been having this problem for a long time now but finally decided to see if anyone has an answer for me short of buying a new iPhone.
I have the iPhone 4 and randomly when I go to End a call, the End button doesnt work and if I've gotten a text message during the call both the "close" and "reply" buttons on the text window won't work so I can't even try to end the call - I just have to wait until the person I'm talking to ends the call and then most of the buttons work. This doesn't happen all the time so I have no idea when it's going to strike.
I have the most up to date iOS, I have restarted the phone many times, I've also done the hard restart and the problem still persists.
Anyone have any advice??

Since you've restarted and hard reset, the next step is to restore it. Make sure you have it backed up via iTunes and then setup as new.

Why the video calls under the Skype are still not fixed in the last update?

I am deeply dissapointed with the last update to the operating system of my new (2013) MacBook Air. The video calls didn't work, but I have followed one of the remedy on the net and made it working. After the update the problem returned. This problem is known for couple of months and the Apple doesn't care. Why ??? Can you please inform me and everybody else when you fix it, untill then I would not update OS. Thank you.

THe home and end buttons

Just purchased a new iMac G5. For the longest time I was working on a keyboard
that had "HOME" and "END" buttons. Very useful for the timeline. Can anyone give me the answer to the keyboard shortcut for those operations on the more condensed keyboards. This answer, for some reason, has been very difficult to find in a google search.

The home and end keys are the directional arrows on the right bottom of the keyboard and you use the function button (fn) with them. In other words fn home or fn End.

Where are the home and end buttons

so i'm new to mac and purchased a mac book pro and that's when it hit me, where are the Insert, Home, End, Page Up, Page Down keys? Where are the arrow keys. I'm not much of a track pad user and although I think it is awesome I like to keep my hands on the keyboard as much as possible.
Also, is it me or does the Delete key on a Mac move in the wrong direction (from right to left instead of left to right)?

The answer is the Fn key...
Held down in addition to the Left arrow is Home, with the Right arrow key is End, with the Up arrow key is PgUp, with the Down arrow key is PgDn, and with to the Delete key is Forward Delete.
You might find it helpful to enable the Keyboard Viewer in Hardware, Keyboard, Show Keyboard viewer in menu bar. On OS X 10.6 it displays a flag for your selected country. (Not sure about OS X Lion 10.7 though.) When enabled, click on the flag and select Show Keyboard Viewer. As you press Shift, Fn, Ctrl, Alt/Option, and Command you will see onscreen what keystrokes result, separately and in combination.

Why the shape of submit buttons differ ?

We have developed a page which contains certain fields and 2 submit buttons. The shape of one button is round edged and that of the other is rectangle.Does the shape of button change with the change in version of JDK.? We have to instances on which we have JDK 1.3 running and the shapes of buttons differ for all pages and on other instance we have JDK 1.5 running where the shapes of all the buttons is same for all the pages.
Please help me in this regard.

Button shapes are directly dependent on CSS clas values, it is not at all dependent on Jdk version.Can u confirm Self Service Accessibility Features profile value is set to "Standard Accessibility"

Urgent, please help. why the ListSelectionListener() called twice?

I had two JList, and every time, I click value in list1, it will call the ListSelectionListener() twice, and when I click on value in List2, it called the list2 actionListener twice also, I don't know why?

You can call ListSelectionEvent.getValueIsChanging() to find out if the selection is in progress or if has been finished. You will get an event both when the user starts the selection (presses the button) and when he/she finishes it (lets go of the betton).

My iphone 5 suddenly turned itself off and 48 hrs later it still wont charge or turn on. i've tried the home and sleep button technique and its still dead also i've tried the usb into my computer and tried to reset it through itunes that didnt work either

Using the new Call and Chat buttons

This is really not a Mac issue, even though I use a Mac. It is a general issue regarding the use of the new Call and Chat buttons in web sites and HTML signatures,
I was using the so called "legacy" buttons, both on my home web site as well as in my HTML signature. Sometime a few days ago they stopped working altogether. I checked the Internet and I saw the post that Skype has discontinued their use and insteasd we would have to use the new Call and Chat buttons that work via a generated script.
This is fine, but I am having two issues here:
1) When I include the script on my web site, the Call image always goes on a line by itself. What I want is to have it on the same line with some other social media like images, such as Facebook, LinkedIn, etc. I could do this with the old legacy images but not with this new one.
2) How can I have now this functionality in an HTML signature? I can't put a script there.

As far as I know, you can't change it: first, your photo is probably a .jpg and iMovie will be adapting it to a video file which will result in somewhat of a loss of quality and second, if your original picture is small, it cannot be enlarged without significant loss of quality as it will get blurry while the individual pixels are being made larger - that depends on your camera settings and its photo output size. So it could be either or both of those that is the problem here. Check your camera and see what size you are taking your pictures in.

Call ended - invalid phone number

Skype keeps telling me I am entering an invalid phone number. I have tried several time without success. I have credit in my account that I cannot use. I am talking of a landline in Chile here not even a cell phone.
The message "call ended - invalid phone number" appears every time I try to call a number that I have called regularly for the past year. Don't know why it stopped working or how to remedy it. I have tried dialing from my contacts list as well as dialing directly.
Sometimes (not always) other numbers in the same city seem to work making it a selective issue.
I can't figure out what's wrong.
This matter has been popping up since last year and no one in the bloody company of Skype has been able to supply a proper response in the community area or at least an instruction to fix it for ever more.
If any of these seems familiar to you it's because I cut and paste messages of different people having the same problem although with no solution at hand

I am having the same issue. I have checked for updates, but it says I have the most up-to-date version, I have checked my subscription, no problems there, I even have almost $15 in credit in addition to an unlimited monthly subscription. I think the problem started when Microsoft started messing with Skype. I am going to be asking for a refund on my credit and the past several months of my subscription if this issue can't be resolved. It won't work from either of my laptops, PS3, iPhone or iPad... Thier billing still seems to be working though, they charge me every month even though I can't use the service. I have sent messages to thier support as well but have not heard a word back. Any suggestions? Have already uninstalled and re-installed a few times...

Adding a skip to end button

I am trying to add a button to all of my quiz slides. The
button is called Skip to End, its intent is to allow quiz takers to
go back and answer the questions they skiped, and when finished
they can click the Skip to End button, basically saying, im done
with the test, what is my score.
Anyone know how to do this.

I actually figured out a different way to do this. My intent
is to allow the test taker to easily navigate through the test
without having to press the skip or back button 100 times. We have
added a progress bar to the bottom of the test slides so you can
scroll back to the questions you skipped faster. This seems to have
solved our issue with making the test a little more user friendly.
