Why the "useradministrator" doesn't work anymore?

Hi guys,
As administrator I got the the error in "user administrator":
"A check if users can be created failed. The UME configuration might be inconsistent. Check your Security Policy settings (Especial "Maximum Length of Logon ID") and your Persistence Configuration."
As normal user, I can not see any iview in "user administrator" any more,what is the problem?
I use a method "GroupFactory.invalidateCache();" in one of my application. Has this something to do with "user administrator"?

Hi,
Since I upgraded from SP stack 9 to SP stack 10 I get the same error in the UME administration. The two buttons for user creation are greyed out. The upgrade could be the cause. I'm also seraching for a solution.

Why the wifi doesn't work after the upgrade to iOS 5?

The problem is that after the upgrade to iOS 5 the wifi doesn't work. I mean, iPad is connected to the wifi but not to the internet and also the connection on the other device doesn't work. So I had to turn off the router and then turn it on.

Try a hard reset first to see if that does any good. To do this, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.
If no luck with that, you'll need to manually connect your iPod to your iTUnes library in recovery mode using the instructions in the Apple support document below. Doing so will allow you to bypass the passcode and restore the iPod.

Why Detect Displays doesn't work anymore?

I use my PB to watch movies using my TV and the S-Video to RCA cable, but since the last upgrade 10.4.6 the Detect Displays option (in display menu bar AND preference pane) doesn't work.
The TV shows a dimmed image of what's suppose to show and sometimes it appears vertically distorted.
I disconnected the S-Video cable and restarted the PB but it still shows that "something" is connected to the s-video port.
Which files should I delete to "reset" video preferences?
UPDATE: PRAM reset didn't work...

Well, the cable can't be the problem, because the computer is "stuck" with a two monitor configuration, even without the cable plugged in, that's why im guessing there's some kind of switch (i hope) that i can reset so the mother board stops thinking i have another display plugged.... the second problem is that if i plug the s-video to rca cable (that came with the laptop) i can't get a clear tv signal from it... it's distorted.... i'll probably open up the computer and check the s-video port... wish me luck.

I'm not sure I follow. Try providing a snippet of the relevant code, and we'll see if anybody on the forum can figure it out for you.

What are you expecting it to do? I should close the window and then exit the application. This is the code I use for all my applications and it does exactally that. Are you using it with a JFrame? or a JDialog?

Satellite L300-26K - After BIOS update the touchpad doesn't work anymore

Hi,
like recommended by tempro, I updated BIOS from ver.2.1 to 2.2 (windows-Version). After rebooting, touchpad incl. tips doesnt work anymore. In bios touchpad is enabled, in system it says unit is working properly. FN/F9 makes no effect. Reinstalling synaptics drivers - no effect - still dead.

How can I restore BIOS to 2.1 again? (if i try the windows-bios utility from V2.1 it says it is still installed - so I cannot downgrade by this easy way)
Please help - I need my notebook without external mouse (this works)

I cant imagine that this happened due the BIOS update. Have you tried reinstalling Windows by using Toshiba recovery disk?
This BIOS downgrade can only be done from an authorized service provider. The technicians can install every version because they have such special tools to make a downgrade.
On the Toshiba website you can find a list of them. Just give the guys and ask for that. They will help you! :)

I tried to upgrade BIOS and the laptop doesn't work anymore

Hi, I tried to install the update of the BIOS:
BIOS update for Satellite A100/A105, Satellite M110/M115, and Tecra A7
but unfortunatelly when it start to be installed, a blue window shous up, the laptop resets and never start again. I can turn on the laptop and enter to the BIOS, but unfortunatelly when the Hard Drive try to start to work, it doesn't do nothing, just show a completly black screen. I tried to install windows again from CD, but after press any key for start from CD, the screen goes black and no more happens, until I press the power on button for more than a couple of seconds.
My laptop is A105-S4004 and I has windows XP.
Please, if you have any solution please let me know. I really feel very comfortable with Toshiba Laptops since I study in the university but this fact give me a very bad experience with this.

Why the script doesn't work

I installed solaris 8 and got a problem. I can use unix commands like ls, mkdir, cp, mv,.... But when I created a script and try to run it, I got the message says "That command doesn't exist." I check the persion and owner, they are OK. Also I use admintool to add a user, I try to put a user's home directory /usr/eric/, when I submit it, I got message "don't have permission" (I am a super user). When I exit from admintool and check /etc/passwd file, that user is already there.

o In your shell, set the environment variable PATH as:
On Bourne/Korn shell:
#PATH=/usr/bin:/usr/sbin:.
On C-shell:
%setenv PATH /usr/bin:/usr/sbin:.
Append (with a ":" prefix) the directory having your script to the
above PATH variable.
You can make this change permanent by having this variable set
through your ".profile" file for sh and ksh, and ".cshrc" for
csh (in your home directory).
Please refer to man pages of login(1) for more information.
