Why Underlying Software Component not in BASIS objects

Hi,
this problem has puzzled me for a while.
I've create a software component SC1 in SLD with dependance on 2 software components SC2 and SC3 .
SC2 also has a dependance on SC3.
When I import the software component from SLD , SC2 and SC3 are liste un the "underlying software component versions for basis objects list" in the SLD Information tab of the Software component in ESR . However, in the details tab , only SC3 appears in the underlying software component versions list.
This then means that SC2 is not in the basis objects and I need to manually add the SC2 in the details tab in order to use it.
I dont mind but when you transport the SC, you need to do this again in every environnement which is error prone.
Does anyone know why this is the case ... ? Do you have the same problem ? Solutions ?

if A is dependend from B (you see B as prerequisite in A) then you should have :
at IB Repository A:
own namespaces and imported object
basis objects with
B-namespace and imported objects, not changeable (if they are active in B!)
at IB Repository B:
only own namespace and imported objects

Custom software component not selectable in Landscape Configurator

Hello all,
I am trying some tutorial about Java development with a track and the developer studio.
I have successfully created the software component in my SLD, which is well linked to the NWDI. When creating a track in the Landscape Configurator, however, I cannot find my newly created Software Component when trying to specify the SCs developped in this track. I can see all the standard ones which are defined in my SLD, but not mine.
I already performed this step for other tracks with other custom-defined SCs without problem, but this time it does not work.
Does someone have a hint of what could cause this ?

In addition to realizing that I had not created this thread in the right forum, I have also find the solution. I just had to go to the Landscape Configurator, in Domain Data, and click the "Update CMS" button.
Maybe this will help someone sometime.

Scanjet G4050 Doesn't Scan - Software Component not found error message

Problem:
I have installed and un/installed the software for this Scanjet G4050. It aways completes the installation successful. All seems fine until I push the SCAN Buttion on the scanner. It launchs the software then abruptly displays an Error! window which says "A required software component was not found..." then says to reinstall the software. I unistall the software and reinstall with exact same results at least 4 times. I have downloaded the lastest software from the download HP web page with exact results. The error info listed is 8,[(8,0,0)].
The COPY button and software works. I can scan preview the same photo in the copy mode, crop it, etc. and print it, but the SCAN button always fails with the Error! message. I think I can throw this HP Scanjet G4050 scanner a good 25 feet. But before it gets launched.... hmmm... maybe Yardapult?
This is a Windows XP (SP3), Dell Precision 360 system.
9/16/14 After following the Waterboy71's suggestion to post this on the Commercial Forums with zero resulsts, I finally threw in the towel. (I need this scanner for work) Returned the Scanjet G4050. Bought and Epson V550. Scanned the very 1st time. Now I can get back to work. I should have pulled the plug sooner. There's just seems to be too many problems with the G4050. What has happened to HP?

How to get back deleted software component along with underlaying objects.

Dear Experts,
By mistake i deleted my software component. When i deleted it even doesn't ask for activate. When i check in change list there is no change list for that deleted software component. So request you please let me how to get back my software component with all the namespaces and objects.
Please treat this as high priority and revert me back ASAP.

I don't know if is possible to restore a deleted SoftComp and all dependent object in repository... You can try to renew the SoftComp import from SLD....

HT4623 why is software update not shown in settings on my ipad?

I'm trying to update my ipad for ios 5 and cannot find "software update" under settings, general. Any idea why?

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.1.3. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.

Any thoughts as to why iWeb software is not updated any more

hello all,
I'm wondering why apple is not updating iWeb software any more. Does anyone think they will continue to support it? Doesn't make sense to me that they have abandoned it. With as much as we all use the web, you would think that Apple would want to have the best software out there for us to use with our iMacs,iPhones, and iPads. I can imagine iWeb software out there that would take our web sites built with state of the art web software that would format the sites we build to work and look the best on all the devices apple makes. Seems to me they are making a big mistake. what are your thoughts about why the have pretty much abandoned iWeb. I don't have a clue. Also seems like they are throwing a lot of people under the buss.

It is now is apparent that iWeb, and iDVD, will no longer be supported by Apple since new Macs are shipping with iLife 11 installed but without iWeb and iDVD. iWeb will still continue to work but without the following:
Features Unavailable When Publishing to a Non-Mac Server:
◼ Password protection
◼ Blog and photo comments
◼ Blog search
◼ Hit counter
◼ RSS Feed Widget
All of these issues can be replaced with 3rd party optionsl There's another problem and that's with iWeb's popup slideshows. Once the MMe servers are no longer online the popup slideshow buttons will not display their images.

However, Roddy McKay and myself have figured out a way to modify existing sites with those slideshows and iWeb itself so that those images will display as expected once MobileMe servers are gone. Why is Flash CC not publishing the "object class id" and the !--[if !IE] -- code like CS6 does?

You've managed to turn a Map<String, Map<String, ?>> which is a parameterized type which should be homogeneous into a heterogeneous collection! ? shoud only bind to a single type, the compiler shouldn't allow you to store Map<String, Integer> and Map<String, String> in the same parameterised collection - that makes the collection heterogeneous . But the next bit fails correctly.
hmSHM.get("foo").put( item, value)The compiler stops you because the object returned by hmSHm.get("foo") is of type Map<String, ?> which is an instantiation of a parametrized type, where we don't know what one of the type parameters is. The compiler knows that the instance has a method with the following signature:
public ? put (String, ?);but compiler has no way of knowing what ? is and so will prevent you from using it because it can't type check it and you could end up adding the wrong type which generics are meant to prevent you from doing. Now you might say that since this will be a concrete instantiation at run-time, then the run-time will know the type and simply throw a type error at run-time, but this is wrong. Generics as they are implemented in Java only exist in run-time. The Java compiler type checks the generics and then replaces all the generic constructs with plain old vanilla non-generic java. In this case ? are replaced with java.lang.Object.

Without `time` package from `extra` repo standard-compliant `time -p foo bar` doesn't work in `sh` or `sh --posix`.
Unfortunately I couldn't find discussion if any, as `time` is so common keyword.

So, GNU time last saw a release in 1996, and has to be patched in Linux so as not to produce garbage output. Not a very good standard piece of software!
I don't even see it in e.g. opensuse at all. And I've never heard of any software that requires it.

Why does software update not allow installation of updates?

I am unable to install downloaded packages after running Software Update because of an "incorrect signature" issue. Dialogue says: Packages may have been tampered with or corrupted since being signed by Apple. The computer is a PowerBook G4 running OS X 10.5.8. The updates are coming direct from Apple. What is going on?

Downloading the updates one at a time directly from the Apple website worked perfectly. I wish I knew why Software Update no longer functions properly, but having this work-around is good to know about.

Why is software update not available

I am trying to update the OS on my mother in law's iPad and it keeps saying its not available after trying for quite so e time - 5-10 minutes

This is simply because Apple's verification server(s) is getting slammed today. It's going to be a matter of "just keep trying" until you can get through.
It took me several tries to get the download going, and now that the dowload is complete, I'm in the same boat getting it installed. We'll just have to be patient, as I'm sure there are a million people trying to get through at the same time.

Regarding BASIS software Component 7.01

Our basis team applied EHP1 SAP NetWeaver 7.01to our landscape and they have imported the BASIS software component "SAP BASIS 7.01" to PI system .
Now i have Two BASIS software components "SAP BASIS 7.0" and "SAP BASIS 7.01"
I have already configured many interfaces in Configuration , all Adapters are using the BASIS software component as "SAP BASIS 7.0". How can i make use of "SAP BASIS 7.01" for all which is already configured?
I can select the "SAP BASIS 7.01" for newly creating communication channels
what abt already existing communication channels??
Generally what would be the procedure for this when we have new BASIS SWCV???

not true for IDOC adapter there are many new parameters now
like idoc packaging
so there are some important changes with some adapters but you don't need to change it if you don't need to use them

We are getting error as software component version does not support this object type when we try to create Business Object in PI 7.1 ESR .
How can we solve this error.

We are working on Modelling in SAP PI, but we are unable to create any Business Object.. is there any specific steps need to be followed.
Once we login to our ESR from index page we have this option to choose
Available Profiles :         Process Definition
                                   Service Definition
                                   Unregistered.
We are getting the option of new types (_Business Object_) only if we select Unregistered Profile and not in other Profiles . Is there some settings need to be done.

Sproxy: Can only see Basis Software Component

Hi Experts,
I am working on 7,4 dual stack PI.
Recently done with all the configurations in PI .But now I want proxy communication with ECC.
For this I created one H type and one G type RFC destinations in ECC to fetch ESR object from PI.
For now I have create only one SWC in SLD of PI and imported it in ESR .Created one Namespace under that.
But ,when I run SPROXY in ECC, it shows only SAP BASIS 7.4 software component and not the other SWC of ESR.
Do we need additional configuration for each of SWCV to get displayed in ECC SPROXY???
I refered the IDES system , in that too I noticed one thing that , out of all the SWC created in ESR of PI only few are diaplyed in IDES ECC SPROXY
why so?

What is the NetWeaver release of the ECC system and the SP release?
See note 1528587 PI ESR Content Objects are not visible in SPROXY, for a description of how/why this can occur. But it may not be the same in your case.

Software component with Key ID does not exist

Hi Friends,
           Here I am in need of your help. I got involved in an upgrade from XI 3.0 to PI 7.1. The Basis has imported all the SWC & Business systems from XI 3.0. When I am trying to activate the objects imported from IR of XI3.0 then It is triggering an error as
data retrieving failed from Adapter Metadata | RFC http://sap.com/xi/XI/System. /// ROA_MOA_NOTCOMPLETED.
            Because of this I am unable to activate the imported objects in ID by showing the message as Software component with key ID XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX does not exist.
            when I went there to ESR then under a software component I found a message under underlying components like             " XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX not exist" but I am not aware of the object related to that Key ID.
Please help me out in this . Thanking you in Advance.

Hi Neeetesh,
         I got the alternative solution for my problem. All credit goes to you. I recreated the communication channels instead of using the same ones after Upgrad. Any way we need to change the communication channels after importing the channels but the system is giving the above error message as   "Adapter Software component with Key ID XXXXXXXX...... does not exist".
         But its allowing me to create a new channel. Then based on the neetesh suggestion, I went through and create the new comm channels instead of wasting so much time on the same issue.
