Why use FISL when there FI and CO?

Hello SDN,
when is it a need for companies to use FISL?
Thanks.
Adette

Hi Dave & Karthik ,
Thanks! points awarded.
Dear Dave,
So, I can say SL is allows for flexible analysis and reporing? If so, is there technically 2 sets of the same data, 1 in say GL and 1 in SL?
Dear Karthik,
By parallel ledgers, do you mean, a ledger in , for example GL, also replicated in SL but data shown in different currencies for reporting?
Regards
Adette

  • Why "Assumed Answered" when there are no replies?

Why do some posts appear marked as Assumed Answered when there have been no replies?
    Photoshop for Beginners
If this is in error, is there any way of un-marking it?

I don't think there's any point or hope in Adobe getting Jive to change what is obviously core behaviour.
However, according to Dave Merchant, it has a backend purpose in cleaning up legacy questions apparently:
"Yes it seems strange to be able to mark a thread with no replies as AA, but it makes sense if you think the OP never came back, so must have found an answer someplace else. Marking these 'dead' questions as AA clears them from the task lists. Remember SBS has a bunch of features for tracking open questions and nagging people to do something, which can get annoying."
That answers this particular question far better than the response from Jive.
I see both points of view: user and admin. However, it looks very odd from the user POV.

  • Does the adapter use power when there's no phone connected?

    Hi all,
I was wondering: Does the Apple poweradapter consume electricity, when there's no iPhone (or iPad etc.) connected to it?
I leave my adapters and cables in a poweroutlet all the time, which I can turn off but I was just curious about this. I read different things all over the internet, so I thought it would be best to ask my question here.
I have the original Apple 10W adapters, with the lightning usb cable, iPhone 5 and iPad 4. I live in The Netherlands by the way, if that makes any difference.
    Thanks!
    Stefan

Wall adapters do use a very small amount ... but it is miniscule, and not worth considering.   Though I suppose there would be an unacceptable loss in 'green' eyes if there were 10,000 of them connected.

  • Why use ojdeploy when building ViewController jar/war?

    Hi,
It is known that ojdeploy is the recommended way to go when building/deploying an ADF app. The advantages are stated in many blog posts in the web.
IMHO the most important reason for using ojdeploy instead of javac when creating an EAR is that javac CANNOT validate your BC. This means for example that if you refactor-rename an attribute of a VO and then commit only xml and not the related View Row Impl class, the build in your CI server will succeed if using only javac and fail if using ojdeploy (as it should be). So ojdeploy is the only way when building jars of Model projects if you want to be 100% sure the you have valid ADF code.
The question is if the is a similar reason for using ojdeploy when building ViewController jars/wars??
Thanx in advance for any feedback.

ojdeploy makes changes to your descriptors javac or jar does not know about. Actually nobody knows about the changes as you have to look into the war to see them. I'm not even sure that they are documented.

  • I converted a heap of music using 'switch', when i try and add this music to library iTunes will not load it??

i converted a heap of music using 'switch', now when i try and add this to library itunes will not load???

Unless the MUST be AAC, try FreeWMAtoMP3Changer: http://www.wma-mp3.com/free-wma-to-mp3-converter/
The ONLY caveat with it is: You CAN'T drag & drop files on it to open them. You MUST use the browse function to select them. If you drag and drop, it multiplies the output files. A 10 track album will produce 45 converted files.

  • Showing there's used space when there isn't

I have a 30 GB video iPod and it is showing there is over 7 GB worth of space used. I totally removed everything from my iPod so there shouldn't be anything on there. In iTunes there are no songs, no videos...NOTHING...yet it's showing that 7.86 GB are being used. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it, reset my iPod, everything and I just don't get it. Please help =(

Try restoring your iPod, this will erase the hard drive, reload the software and put it back to default settings: Restoring iPod to Factory Settings

    >
You can't call the super class constructor directly if you are trying to construct the sub-class. When you call it directly it will construct an instance of the super class but that instance will NOT be an integral part of the 'MultiListener' sub class you are trying to create.
So since 'MultiListener' extends JPanel if you call the JPanel constructor directly (not using super) your code constructing a new instance of JPanel but that instance will not be an ancestor of your class that extends JPanel. In fact that constructor call will not execute until AFTER the default call to 'super' that will be made without you even knowing it.
A 'super' call is ALWAYS made to the super class even if your code doesn't have an explicit call. If your code did not include the line:
super(new GridBagLayout()); Java would automatically call the public default super class constructor just as if you had written:
super();If the sub class cannot access a constructor in the super class (e.g. the super class constructor is 'private') your code won't compile.

You enter "A". The exception is thrown. The "A" is not consumed. It calls nextInt on "A" again... and again... and again...
If you do nextLine, the "A" and the newline are consumed.
Even on good input, I don't think nextInt consumes the EOL.

  • Why using EJB when we have BC4J ?

    Hello everybody
When I heared about EJB two years ago, I read couple of articles about it and found it useful. Now, when I read about BC4J and the ability they give us, a question pops up into my mind. Why should we use EJB ?
We can simple use BC4J and they are very good. I think there is something about EJBs that I dont know and thats why I think this way.
    I'll appriciate any help.
    Thanx in adnvace.

BC4J is a J2EE framework that lets you get down to business and focus on building your application.
It then gives you a choice of deploying your application using simple Java classes, or using an EJB Session Bean if you want to take advantage of EJB Session Bean's container-managed transaction (for example, to particpate in a transaction with another bean you didn't write), or method-level security.
The key points are that it saves J2EE developers tons of time by allowing them to not waste their time on writing application plumbing code to implement the many J2EE Design Patterns that all real-world applications need.
Around 800 Oracle Applications developers inside Oracle are using the BC4J framework to get their self-service web applications to market with better features in faster time than their competitors. The framework is filled with nuts-and-bolts application-building features that our own developers have told us are the boring, mundane, plumbing-kinda code that they don't WANT to write, debug, and test themselves.
It gives you a big advantage and allows you do decide whether or not to use EJB at deployment time instead of forcing you to make that decision up front.

  • HT1386 iPhone and iPad don't always appear in iTunes for wifi sync, why? Sometimes, when my phone and ipad are both turned on and I open iTunes it shows "2 devices" in iTunes and I can sync. Often one or neither will show up, no matter what I do.

I can sync my iphone and ipad over wifi using itunes, but not always. In fact quite frequently neither shows up in itunes. I try to reboot them and sometimes they show up, but not all the time. I have tried rebooting iphone and ipad, the computer, checking and unchedking "sync over wifi," etc.
Nothing changes. Very often one or both do not show up to be synced. they work find if connected by usb cable, but not over wifi.
    any help would be appreciated.

So far I've found the only remedy is to reboot my server (Mavericks Server is my OS).
Clearly there is some system service getting hosed.  If I can figure out which service to kill and let launchd restore the service, I can save some grief.

  • Using ADL when Application.xml and Content.swf are not in the BIN directory

Hello, I am trying to use the air debug launcher (ADL) to
launch a simple air app. My issue is I am trying to have ADL launch
this app from outside of the bin directory of the SDK. Whenever I
try to pass adl the full path to the Applicaiton.xml file it says
"application descriptor not found" Does anyone know how to get
around this? How can I run an AIR app that is outside of the bin?
My situation C:\AIR has the Applicaiton.xml and Content.swf
files, then a directory way below C:\Program Files\....\..... has
the bin directory. I can run adl using its full path C:\Program
Files\....\bin\adl, but when I pass it the full path for
    Application.xml it fails.
By the way when I put everything in the bin, or below the bin
    it works just fine.

If you're receiving this error message then the full path
you're specifying for application.xml must be incorrect.

  • I need more space to make my windows 7 partition. Can I make that partition on a USB flash drive so I can use it when I want and still have my full ssd when I don't? Do you guys know of any ways to do this?

I am considering buying a 128 gb MacBook air and I will need to make a windows partition. I would like to be able to use all of my ssd do I was wondering if I could put my windows partition on a small USB flash drive to use when I want to. Do you know if any programs or techniques capable of this?

Csound1 What Ive been trying to explain is that I have been running bootcamp, I open the app where the first screen is the introduction, i hit continue, the first time I select "download the latest windows support software fromm Apple" then I return and instead select "Install Windows 7." Then hit continue. The third screen is where I "Create a Partition for Windows" I set Windows to 80 gigs then hit INSTALL. As stated before Bootcamp cannot find the install drivers saying "The installer disc could not be found." My windows software is on a USB drive not a disc, I tried using a virtual disc reader to make it appear that the windows software was running on a disc, still no luck. What I would like to know is how to install windows on bootcamp.
