Why V 11.1.1.2....  is unstable

Hi guru's,
in Hyperion version 11.1.1.2.... why it is unstable and what is the bug in it.
Thanks in advance

Your question is vague as there are many Hyperion apps on the 11.1.1.2 platform. There are many bugs which if patched to 11.1.1.3 can be fixed.

  • Unstable! Why are my time capsules so damned unstable under Mountain Lion??

After installing Mountailn lion, two of my time capsules has become critically unstable (file access, not WIFI).
Anyone experiencing the same? Any fixes?

I think apple have some issues with ML they are not fixing. TM in particular is a problem.
Is your issue TM or something else?? Look in the OS ML area as there are a lot of posts with issues.. I really doubt the TC went from being OK on earlier OS to suddenly unstable..

  • Premiere CS5 - Project Monitor playback is jerky after resintall of operating system and CS5

PROBLEM: Premiere CS5 - Project Monitor playback is jerky
This had NOT been an issue prior to reinstalling the operating system and all software.  I have read numerous articles on the forums and have tried everything I can find...with no results.
STEPS TAKEN TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM:
I have scoured the articles here http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/search/index.cfm?loc=en_us&term=choppy%20video&cat=support&pr oduct=premierepro and others at Cretive Cow
I have installed all updates for CS5 Master Collection, immediately following a fresh install of the operating system and SC5 Master Collection.
I have ensured that sequence settings match resolution and frame rates of footage - the problem persists.
I have tested by importing both standard def AVI files created from tape and high def SONY MP4 files - the problem persists.
I have ensured the latest Video drivers are installed (clean installation selected, so that the Windows default would be removed) - the problem persists.
I have tried the 3D settings in NVIDIA control panel | Program Settings tab... selected Adobe Premiere Pro from the drop down menu | and chaged 'Multi-display/mixed-GPU acceleration from the value of 'Multiple Display performance' to the value of 'single display performance'; although, I ran two monitors before using this latest NVIDIA video driver and I didn't experience this jerky footage issue - the problem persisted after affecting that change; so, I switched it back.
Since I have 96 GB of RAM, I don't use a pagefile.  A zero MB page file is the same setting I had prior to rebuilding the C:  Regardless of whether I have a pagefile or not, the problem persists.
I have tried creating a fresh user profile, where the user profile is created on the C: drive by default; and, where I left it there on C: to test for the jerky playback in a new PrPR project  - the problem persists.
Regarding the C: (system drive) and why I reinstalled everything, it had become unstable and was locking up.  I ran DISK ERROR CHECKING with the FIX parameter and the system was still locking up on me.  Keep in mind that the System drive is a solid state drive.  Anyhow, I had no choice but to dive in and reinstall everything.  I wiped the system partition of the SSD using quick format and started installing the operating system.  Now, I've read the CLAIM that this cuases performance issues; but, the only place I see issues is in the video monitor playback in PrPr.  Everything else - Office applications...printing...browsing the Internet...works just fine, everything is responsive, whereas, I couldn't do ANYTHING with it before.

    I'VE RESOLVED THE PROBLEM!
    PREFACE:
OK, I am hoping that through this week-long Operating-System-and-Software-reinatalltion excerise of mine, I have revealed something that everyone -- whom have been cursing Adobe over -- can apply to their systems to resolve this jerky video problem within PremierePro CS5 (and quite possibly other versions, too).
If you've read my post above, you've seen all the steps I've taken to resolve the problem.  I've read many posts, some of which have mentioned  hardware upgrade / opitmization steps that one may take to enhance performance, and hopefully resolve the problem.  I've read where people have taken these steps and have still experienced the problem...and then they curse Adobe.  Fer-shame, fer-shame, fer-shame! (nod to Gomer Pyle).
In my case, I knew it wasn't an Adobe issue, as it had worked flawlessly before; and, it wouldn't require a hardware upgrade or reconfigureation, as my system is completely maxed out with two processors, a system drive and a hardware RAID5 array, a CUDA-suported nVIDIA 4800 FX card, and 96 GB of RAM.  bla bla bla, puke...whatever.  Bottom line is this:
It's not a software issue.  It's not and Adobe issue; and Gawd no!  It's NOT a PC vs. Mac issue!  HA HA.  The software had worked swimmingly well prior to the reinstallation / 'lobotomy' I perfomed on the system drive.
    SOLUTION FOR ME:
Download and install the updated drivers for the motherboard.  Mine is an Intel Workstation Board S5520SC.  Intel has an INTEL DRIVER UPDATE UTILITY which automatically scaned my Intel system and identified drivers which needed updating.  A very handy, time-saving tool!!!  Here's the URL: http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect?iid=dc_iduu
The scan revealed two Intel drivers needing an update:
    Intel Chipset
    Wired Networking
    and one non-intel driver:
    Creative Labs Sound Blaster X-fi
I downloaded and installed these three drivers, rebooted, and tested PremierePro, and was extatic to find this resolved the problem.
If you have a motherboard from another manufacturer, then you may want to navigate over to their wibsite to locate chipset and other updated drivers for your motherboard.
    ROOT CAUSE:
While Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate was able to install certain default drivers during the Operating System installation (keeping in mind that this was done on an Intel Solid State Drive that I formatted using Quick Format) these default chipset drivers apparently weren't current and were ultimately the root cuase of the jerky video playback within PremierePro CS5.
    Peace

  • Contribute CS3 (Mac) Crashes ... a lot!

Curious if there's something that possibly conflicts with
Contribute CS3 (v. 4.1) that could cause it to be unstable. In the
past I noticed it would crash too often during very normal tasks on
    uncomplex web pages (saving, etc...).
Just did a full reformat/reinstall of all the original
software on my Macbook Pro - everything (including Contribute)
seemed to be running great up until just a few hours ago - it
crashed at least 5 times in about two hours! First couple times I
restarted the system, then when it kept crashing, I would just hit
"reopen" and it would, and I would keep
    working.
Any idea why this is happening so often? I don't have any
    unusual software on my system.
    []Creative Suite 3 Web Premium
    []Office X
    []Final Cut Pro/DVD Studio Pro
    []Fetch
    []A Better Finder Rename
    []Canon Powershot software
That's about all I've put on so far.
Anyone experience Contribute being very unstable? Ideas
    why?

Yes, there is definitely something unstable. Reinstalling on
a fresh hard drive (so no old preferences) did not make these
    crashes go away.
Adobe... you've got stability problems here.

  • Updated to Yosemite OSX 10.10 - Dreamweaver CS6 demands Old Java 6!

When I updated to Yosemite  (OS X 10.10) on my Mac recently I found that Photoshop CS6 works without an issue. However, Dreamweaver CS6 does not. When you start it, the program demands that you load a legacy JAVA SE 6.  Is this right?  Why?
Java is already a very unstable and very insecure environment anyway. Experts all around the world are adamant about keeping it updated because they fix security issues almost every day.  Yosemite comes with the latest version of Java, so WHY would Adobe continue to mandate the install of an older, more insecure version of JAVA.
I know that you can fix the problem by installing the JAVA-2014-100 software, but that's NOT the point. Why wouldn't Adobe put a patch in to at least make it compatible with the current version?
Is there a way to run DW CS6 without installing the JAVA 6 legacy?
    Thanks!

Oracle's archive site is only place I know to get JAVA 6.
But please look into any security vulnerabilities as it is no longer getting updates.

  • 160GB iPod Classic (2007 version)

I have the 6th generation, 160GB iPod classic (2007 version). Whenever I get to 2 specific songs, they will only play for about 5-10 seconds and then skip to the next song. It doesn't do that when I play those songs on my Mac. I've done several complete restores of the iPod and it does it on the same 2 songs every time. I have about 113GB of music, video and photos on it. The interface is also very sluggish. Why won't Apple update the firmware on this thing? It's barely 4 years old, yet OS X 10.5 from that same year has received updates more recently than the last update to my iPod software. If the only real difference between mine and the newer models are Genius and Genius Mixes, why can't I use the latest software on mine? Is it really that hard to support a 4 year old iPod that I bought to support my large music library for many years? I'd eventually buy an iPod Touch to replace it, but not until it's big enough for my entire library (which won't happen for at least another year). Seriously Apple, where is the love?

There are basically two reasons why firmware gets updated.
It's unstable, so it gets an update to fix it. The Classic's firmware is stable, that's why it doesn't get updated.
To give the iPod more features. Perhaps the iPod Classic has all the features its hardware can cope with. As for Genius (which I do not use and have not even tried) - surely that's in iTunes, not on the iPod. Therefore, updating the iPod's firmware would achieve nothing and since you now state that you "don't even care much for Genius", why bring it up in the first place?
To turn on Genius (in iTunes), go to Edit/Preferences/General and turn on the tick box named Genius.
    sigh...
Oh, and with 113GB of music on your iPod, I'm not surprised the interface is sluggish (or less responsive than with just 10GB of music).

  • Pacman Repositories

I am curious about obtaining packages that are not part of current and extra, specifically fluxbox-devel. Can a temporarily add a repository, in this case unstable, sync the repository, get the package, comment out unstable and resync so that I am no longer accessing unstable?

Why exactly do you want to disable unstable after installing fluxbox-devel?  Nothing in unstable will change anything in current or extra by default, just as nothing in extra will change anything in current.  Staging is also supposed to be like that, nothing in staging will change anything in current, extra, or unstable.  Also, when you disable unstable, you won't get any more updates for fluxbox-devel.  You might as well just do a pacman -U ftp://repo/path/to/fluxbox-devel-package.tar.gz

  • CompactRIO DC motor control

Hi. I am really new in LV and I need a help. I did this basic control http://www.ni.com/white-paper/11197/en to generate PWM and control DC engine. But I need to control it in both directions in Scan interface and I need a graph of PWM which I generate. I have H-bridge connect to Rio. I´ve three 9041 and one 9215 modul. I know, it´s easy, but I need some tutorial.
    Thank you.

    Dear zabloros!
    Sorry for the late reply.
It's hard to say why is the speed of your motor unstable. It would be good to see a connection diagram, to get more familiar with your system.
It would be also good to know how big this instability is (in RPM for example)
I have a feeling, that you may use the output of the 9401 as PWM signal to drive the H bridge. (or the motor?)
In the Whitepaper you linked, NI 9472 module is used, that has 24 V output, that is enough to drive a small DC motor. Of course duty cycle of the PWM signal will determine the speed of rotation.
In this solution, there is no H bridge, the direction of rotation is not reserved.
Your system, and needs are different from this solution. Of course in manner of CRIO programing, using PID and setpoint this whitepaper is very useful.
Since you have a H bridge, (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H_bridge   or   http://www.hvlabs.com/hbridge.html), you can set which coils of the motor are connected to VCC and to the ground. (It would be useful information, if yoo could specify the type of H bridge IC you are using.) For this purpose no PWM, just simple digital high and low level signal should be enough, on the specific inputs of the H bridge IC, that are controlling the switches inside.
Of course speed of motor depends on the voltage connected to the coils of the motor. For this you have to change the VCC, and that could be done with a PWM signal. NI 9401 is not powerful enough for this purpose, I would recommend NI 9472 (power supply can be connected to the module, so it't powerful enough).
I summarised my recommendations in the attached picture.
I hope it will make clear the usage of 9401 and 9472.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to post them.

I am not accusing anyone of speed, i am just curious about such issue.
Porting? Do you actually mean patching?
Why not just get 2.22 from [unstable] ? edit: [testing]

  • Why is Acrobat DC so unstable? Why does it crash when i try to use any tool on a simple document? how can i stabilize the app so i can use it? the license is too expensive for this nonsense/

i want to be able to use the app asap - all i need to do is extract some pages from a document. the thing just keeps quitting. i installed it last night, have uninstalled it and reinstalled, and still no joy. i have also installed the reader version on my mac laptop, and the same happens there. why release so unstable a program? but that i suppose is conjecture.
how can i make this program stable is the most relevant questions.
i am running Mac OS X 10.10.2 on an iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2009). I have 8gb ram. I have the CC license, all other adobe products work well on this machine. acrobat always has too...

This latest crash occurred while Acrobat was attempting to OCR a page. This never caused crashes with the most recent, previous versions of Acrobat. What did you people do to mess things up ??

  • Why is the OTN forum so unstable ?????

Why is the OTN forum so unstable ?????
I haven't seen any other Forum on the WORLD WIDE WEB being so slow/unstable?
Maybe you should move over to some MS products (FYI this was a jocke).

    Here here!
"I haven't seen any other Forum on the WORLD WIDE WEB being so slow/unstable?" - exactly how I feel too!!!
Error 404 many times each day and loosing posts due to "internal error" or what have you! I have mailed a few times to "webmaster" but nothing...
I think this is really bad PR, but what do I know ;)

  • Why is Logic so Unstable?

After working on a track for the best part of the morning, Logic decided to crash on me again...
I had saved my work, but there are a few things I have lost.
My question is this.. Why is logic so unstable? I have used logic since 1999 and never have I experienced it to be this bad.
I get random crashes with Logic Pro but with no other Apple app.. Final Cut and others work like a dream on my machines.
Logic can crash at any point it wants and I can never replicate the crash or figure out why.. I always keep my system tidy, repairing permissions on installs, Onyx, Disk warrior all the time. I have completely erased and installed my Mac HD writing Zeros to it and still get these problems.
I have third party plugs like RMX, Ivory, IK Philharmonik, and others, but all with reputable companys who have all released regular updates that work with all versions of the present Tiger OS. I have also tried running Logic with no third Party plugs, and still get random crashes.. but who would want to as the factory sounds are not as good as my third part plugs.
Many people say it is third party plugs that cause instabillity, which if it is the case, is even worse on Apple's part as no other DAW I use (with all same plugs) crashes like this....period.
DP, Pro tools, they all work great.. Trouble is I know logic to well to switch to another DAW mid project.. Besides, why shouldnt we be able to use third party software with Logic if other apps handle them perfectly??
Does anbody else have similar experiences or find that Logic Pro seems to be overlooked and way under-developed in terms of its basic stability?
I know that WWDC is coming up, but to me, even if they do release something that will be the killer app, I feel that the way they have treated their Pro customers in not developing Logic Pro sooner and quicker is a swift reminder that Apple is far more concerned with other things and not its professional and loyal music making customers? (Garage band users not included!!haha)
I had to vent this somewhere..hope you all understand where I am coming from!
    thanks..
    Two G5 Dual 2.5Ghz, 2.5GB Ram, Logic Pro 7.2.3   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Just to stay with the subject for a second (myself included...)
I always keep my system tidy, repairing permissions on installs,
Onyx, Disk warrior all the time. I have completely
erased and installed my Mac HD writing Zeros to it
    and still get these problems.
OK, I see you've given her the ol' "this is going to feel cold and intrusive". Do I take it to mean that you re-installed the OS from the factory disks as well?
Also, might be time for a firmware refresh.
Regarding doing Onyx/Disk Warrior "all the time"? I'd suggest that you don't make this a regular practice (I know some people will have my head for saying that). But the reason I say this is that I actually find that Logic feels particularly unwieldy after doing a full Onyx run-through. It takes a couple of Logic crashes before it all sorts itself back out.

  • Why unstable when 200 FSB ?

when I set FSB value to 200, My CPU performance is very unstable.
The CPU score from sandra marks 5600~6500
Due to this, the FPS (frame per sec) in the game also unstable.
But when I seto FSB to 201, CPU performance is stable. CPU score from sandra is 10300~10400, and FPS in the game is very stable as well.
I find out that some of FSB value has an effect on the performance of CPU. like 200, 203,.....
I've no idea why 200FSB is unstable.  I know that in the Bios 2.0, when I set the FSB to 200, the real operation FSB is 203Mhz. so I set the FSB to 201.
But in the Bios 2.2 this is fixed. 200 FSB in the BIOS is real 200Mhz. so I think I don't need to set the FSB 201 anymore.
Why 200 FSB is unstable? 200 FSB is recommanded FSB of my CPU spec.

It's most probably due to Spread Spectrum being enabled by default that'll prevent spikes by doing very minor % +/- in FSB... and when you set your own FSB, SS is being disabled so you'll get the standard settings being defined manually.
Click on the Good Aritcles link under my Signature and read through the Spread Spectrum Guide . You'll most probably understand how SS works since the guide is so crisp and clear in the explanination done by one of our great member .

  • 2.5 Cas# unstable but 2 Cas# stable on Neo2 Plat......why?

    Howdy all,
I ran into some big time problems last week with this rig......basically a continuation of an unstable system since first building it in May, to completely screwed up and un-bootable last week.  However, after visiting these forums was I able to get my system back up running again after changing out the CMOS battery and PSU, that and also going from the POS v1.9 BIOS to a syar modded v1.8.
Since then system has run smooth as butter.  Being that I went thru so much hell in getting this rig up and running again, I decided to check my Ram (2x512 Corsair XMS.....CMX512 3200C2PT in slots 1 and 2) out using MemTest86 1.65.  This is where I happened upon a curious thing and wondering if the guru's here can explain this to me.  When I had my system tested, I had the following settings (2, 3, 3, 7 @ 1T), I came up with one error on test 7 (saying 99.1 MB.....bad 692b39ec), this happened twice in 4 passes.
Yet when I plugged in (2.5, 3, 3, 6 @ 1T...checked the Corsair site for recommended settings for this board), my system went thru 8 passes without one error.   Thought great.....system is good, rebooted and could not get to Windows.  Immediately BSOD'd with IRQL_something, something error.  Rebooted again with (2.5, 3, 3, 7 @ 1T) and got same BSOD's.....tried relaxing timings even more (did this a number of times) but still could never get into Windows.
Now the curious thing, I rebooted again and changed my timings back to (2, 3, 3, 7 @ 1T) and not only did Windows boot up, but rig is running very smooth.  I thought AMD had to have 2.5 on the Cas# to run properly.......can someone explain this to me?  That and why the errors in MemTest with a 2 Cas# and not 2.5 Cas#?  This perhaps the BIOS being modded?  Not that I am gonna change..lol, system is running too good now.  I am writing what I had in my Cell Menu on both tests.......only thing I changed were the ram timings.
    -Mem Clock.................200
    -High Performance.......manual
    -Aggressive Timing.......disabled
    -NV/ATI Speed Up.......auto
    -Dram drive strength....normal
    -Dynamic Overclocking..disabled
    -Spread Spectrum........disabled
    -HT Freq.....................4x
    -Cool and Quiet............disabled
    -PCI Clock Autodetect..enabled
    -Adjust CPU Ratio........startup
    -Adjust CPU FSB Freq...225
    -Adjust AGP Freq.........67
    -Adjust CPU Vid...........startup
    -CPU Voltage..............by CPU vid
    -Mem Voltage.............2.70v
    -AGP Voltage..............1.55v
    *********EDIT***********
I also seemed to have lost my flopyy drive as well......this thing is only a day old and had used it yesterday to reflash the BIOS.  Only today it will not work, but it is showing up in Windows and the BIOS.....but will not work in DOS nor Windows.  I checked BIOS settings and made sure controller was enabled (which it was), so not sure what is up......any ideas?  I can live without it for a stable system.....lol.

Mem Voltage.............2.70v   could have somethings to do with it .  Use atleast 2.75 . Even if BIOS say 2.70v doesn't neccesary mean that
voltage is real after passing the voltage regulators . Take it up 0.05v to compensate for mobo variation .
    FSB 225 with :
    -Adjust CPU Ratio........startup
    -Adjust CPU FSB Freq...225
    -Adjust CPU Vid...........startup
    -CPU Voltage..............by CPU vid
means a 225mhz overclock of the CPU and the memory overclocked also to DDR450 . Yet you have no CPU voltage bump .
I recommend using the fixed values for cpu-ratio=10x and cpu-vid=1.45v instead of the startup , CPU voltage perhaps +3% .
Since mem is overclocked to DDR450 consider 2.80v also .
Other than that , there has been some combination that hates running cas#3 , but a mix between cas 2.0 & cas 2.5 i have never heard
that should be any problems with corsairs .

  • Neo Platinum unstable - Why?

Hey all, I've got a problem that's been driving me nuts for weeks.
I've got a K8N Neo Platinum which I've had for about one year. I had one stick of 512MB Corsair Value Select DDR400 and decided to get another identical stick along with a new SeaSonic S12-330 PS. From everything I've read, 330 watts should be fine with a high quality PS.
After installing the two (RAM & PS), I decided to flash the latest BIOS (I went from 1.7 to 1.8). After all of this, I fired up Quake 4 and after a couple of minutes I froze up. This now happens everytime I play any game within about 10 minutes (usually much less).
Also, on some days I get freezes - one after the other - just cruising the Net or whatever. Then it won't happen for a week (unless I play a game).
I took the new RAM out and the same thing happens. I switched slots and no change. I took the new PS out and the same thing happens (in fact it's wildly unstable now with the old PS). I reflashed the older BIOS back in and the same thing happens.
So basically when my box is put back into the original and once very stable condition, it's still screwed.
Any guesses as to what I did?
    Thanks.
    K8N Neo Platinum
    AMD 64 3200
    2 x 512MB Corsair VS DDR400
    ATI Radeon 9600XT

    Thanks guys.
Well, I set the AGP Voltage to 1.6 and started up Quake 4. While loading, I saw some artifacts on the screen that went away when the game came up. Then, about three minutes into the game, the computer croaked and rebooted on it's own. I'll try 1.55v and see what happens.
CPU-Z reports that both slots are identical. The voltage is set at 2.70V and timing settings are on Auto. As for the question about my technique when changing RAM modules, no I didn't do it as you suggest. I just powered down the machine, did the swap, and rebooted. Why, is this a really bad thing to do?
The rail voltages are as follows:
    +3.3V - 20A
    +5V - 20A
    +12V1 - 8.0A
    +12V2 - 14.0A
    -12V - 0.8A
    +5Vsb - 2.0A
    Thanks!
