With IPhoto it was possible to drag and drop to Adobe PHOTOSHOP. Now you cannot. When you export you lose the DPI of the camera and it goes to 72 DPI. This *****. Can it be fixed?

In Illustrator go File>Place and navigate to the image you want.

Preferences - Universal Access - Mouse and Trackpad tab - trackpad options
tick the drag and drop box
I dont know why this option had been turned off but ticking this box restored the drag and drop function

Drag and Drop into Photoshop layer without resizing the source image

Hello,
I am using Photoshop CS5, 64bit, in Windows 7.
I went through following steps and getting result that I do not want:
1. Open an existing photopshop file.
2. From the explorer window of my folder, select 100 png files and drag into the graphics area of the open photoshop image.
Result: Photoshop resizes the png file and place it as a layer. It also asks me to commit the resizing for each individual file that I dragged and drop. Sometimes, it takes it as 100% scale, sometimes, 98%, sometimes 102%. If I change it to 100%, then it is not the original size. The image become larger and blurry.
Expected Result: Place 200 png files as separate layer of the open photopshop without resizing it.
My png files are icons that don't need resizing. I cannot tweak 200 images just to get this to the original dimension!
Other things I tried:
I turned off the "Preference->General->Resize Image During Place". I also turned off "Place or Drag Raster Images as Smart Objects".
I still get the same result. I need nothing smart here. Just let me place images without any smart stuff!
I also went to help and googled. I could not find what I need.

Why do drag and drop images transfer as bmp instead of jpg?

If I use drag and drop instead of "right click/save as" the file is saved as a bmp file rather than a jpg file that it is intended.

Since this is on here a few times on a few threads here is the fix that worked for me on XP it should work on all platforms.
1. Back up the contents of your Firefox profile folder. (See Link Below)

2. Uninstall fire fox vand all personal info (book marks, passwords, cookies etc. remember you have all of thet backed up.) Via control panel.
3. Go look where it was installed and see if there is still a Mozilla Firefox folder if so then delete that too (make sure you have no other programs in that folder like Thunderbird)
4. Reboot.
5. Reinstall a fresh install of firefox.
6. Try dragging an image from a website to your desktop and see if it saves and a .jpg. If it works great it's fixed.
7. Now Restore your backed up settings, plugin etc... Look for your new profile folder and then overwrite the contents of that folder with the contents of your back up folder.
Now you can save the 3 hours it took me to figure out this solution.

I had the same problem. Fixed it by repairing disk permissions with disk utility.

The matter isn't closed for others coming to this thread looking for an answer. Repairing permisions is much easier than a reinstall. It worked for me.

Drag and drop a photoshop layer into TextInput

I've been able to complete a drag and drog from a file to a TextInput in my CS Extension but what I really want to do is drag and drop a layer into a textinput or any other control so I can pick up what layer it is and apply actions on it.
Anyone got ideas of how I could achieve this in Extension Builder?

If I select, then click to drag an Apple Discussion message to the desk top, the selected section deselects and will not allow me to drag and drop.

If you make a selection, right on this page in this message box, and try to drag it to the desk top it does work. BUT if I start to drag at this top of the page with the words "Post Message: Reply", it will not D&D.
This inability to D&D happens about 80% of the time on this computer. It never happened on my G4 with Tiger.

Why does the quality reduce when dragging and dropping from photoshop?

Basically ive got a layout in keynote and when i drag layers into keynote, they appear on the keynote layout however the quality goes all crappy....is there no way of sorting this out, or is it just how it works? when doing layouts do most people save the individual layers out as png files and then import individually into keynote and align them with the original layout? i do this currently but it is slightly time consuming.

Why does drag and drop between instances of Safari not always work?

I can drag a link from one instance of Safari to another and then without reason, it just stops working. Yet, if drag the link in one window to the address bar of the second it works just fine. If I start a new instance of Safari I can drag to it just fine. If I start a new tab, I can drag to it fine (until it fails too). Any idea as what may cause this?

Why doesn't the original document I'm dragging and dropping from one folder to another move?
What's happening is the computer is creating a duplicte of the document and placing it in the new location with a new creation date. The original document I wanted to drag and drop into a new location remains where it started as the "original" document and the new copy has this little arrow protruding up from the lower left of its icon.
At first I thought it was an alias, but it's a copy of the document I thought I was dragging and dropping.
What gives here?

That arrow indicates it is a linik to the original, though. This happens if you wish to drag files, for which you do not have permissions to do this operation, e.g. from Library or System folder. I am pretty sure you do not accomplish this operation from/to folders like Desktop or Documents; if so, there is a problem with your system.

Can't drag and drop music onto iTunes...

Ok I just recently bought my first mac, a MacBook Pro. Transferred all my files (most importantly my music) onto an external hard drive from my PC, then transferred files from the hard drive to the mac and it all seems to be fine. However for some reason I can't seem to get my songs into iTunes. I tried scan for media and that just pops up saying 'processing' for a second then nothing happens...then I tried simply dragging my whole music folder into iTunes, it looked like it was doing something, again said 'processing' but nothing happened. My music folder is pretty big at 42GB, could this be the problem? My iTunes is up to date I just don't understand, can anyone help?

The scenario is , whenever correct mc was drag and drop on the target mc , it move to the next frame with new target mc(new question) , for example "questionBox2".
By applying the code above, everything work fine but i would like that whenever i "throw" the answer mc (flexibleTxt, blueTxt etc) , i want it to slide or glide for little more distance, jz like how u throw a card in real life on a smooth surface.
I also prefer that when draging it's "angle?" change according to the direction of draging. For example if u point ur finger on north side of a card and drag to the east, it's "angle?" will change according to the direction u drag, in this case, means east.
I know my description seem abit complicated but i really someone can undestand and help me solve this issue.

I am having a similar but reverse problem: Under 10.5.2, when trying to push or pull files from my wireless MacBook Pro via my Airport Extreme base station to or from my wired G5 Power PC, files hang in mid copy then stall.
The other way around -- working from the G5 -- I have no problem at all.
This started with 10.5, but I'm not sure if it was .1 or .2 because I upgraded from 10.4 just recently and did the combined 10.5 updates all at once on both machines.
