Why was I sold a CDMA iPhone in the UK?

So I bought an iPhone 5 about 1 week ago. I just checked the model identifier and it's 'iPhone5,2'... This is the CDMA iPhone 5.
I would have expected to have been sold an iPhone5,1 which is the International iPhone 5 (along with GSM in USA).
Everything works fine, of course, but I am just curious.

Try turning Find My iPhone off, then back on.

Why do I have to activate iPhones in the USA?

This only seems to happen in the USA, but my search for why this happens is bringing up inconclusive results. Whenever I insert a SIM card from at&t or t-mobile, whether for testing or for helping a friend troubleshoot their iPhone, the activation screen pops up. My iPhone is unlocked too.
The moment I set foot in Europe and picked up various SIM cards as I surfed in various countries, all of the activation messages stopped.
Why such a difference?

An activated SIM is one that is activated for use with the particular carrier that is associated with the card.
AT&T does not offer a pay as you go option with an iPhone, and the iPhone's IMEI number to be used with the activated SIM card must be associated with the SIM card. This is done with the activation process.
Although it is now possible to purchase an unlocked iPhone direct from Apple, most iPhones are sold as carrier locked in the U.S. with AT&T since AT&T includes a substantial subsidy or discount of the full retail sales price for signing a two year contract.
The iPhone is sold as carrier locked in Europe as well in addition to being sold as unlocked.

Your iPhone has probably gone into recovery mode. Since, you have already backed up the iPhone there is nothing to worry about. Please follow this article, it would certainly resolve your issue

Do you and your wife share the same iCloud I.D.? If so, this shouldn't be an issue.
If you and your wife have individual iCloud I.D.'s, then the extra storage you bought is assigned to your iCloud I.D. and not hers.
To check if you both have the same iCloud I.D., go to settings-iCloud. At the top next to "Account" should be the iCloud I.D. If they are the same, they will be sharing the extra purchased storage. If not, as I said, the extra storage will only be assigned to your iCloud account.

Microsoft Office Starter is a 32 bit program, why was it sold with my 64 bit Window 7 PC?

I purchased my PC because it came with Microsoft Office 2010 (so said the advertisement). I installed the Microsoft Office Starter as I was prompted. There was no option to select my OS otherwise I would've selected Windows 7 64 bit. I noticed the program
was installed as 32 bit and Word will not print my files. Why would you develop a 32 bit program to be sold on a 64 bit Operating System? Is there a 64 bit version I can download that I'm unaware of?

Photoshop Elements is not in the upgrade path for Photoshop. If you just purchased Photoshop CS5 it was not done thru Adobe... they do not sell older versions of their software.

Randomly while playing music the iPod software shuts down. Then when I try to open it again I get a white screen and the program hangs, then closes. I've done the whole uncheck music then sync, then recheck music then sync, but that only temporarily fixes it.

Since AppleCare is an extended warranty, Apple needs to write it in such a way that foreign governments will accept it. Even here in the US, it was not valid in Florida until fairly recently.

Press the button at the top right and the home button together for 30 seconds, when you see the apple logo, let them go.
if you see a picture of the itunes symbol and a whitye usb chord then connect the device to a computer and perform a restore.

Why aren't songs purchased on iPhone in the "Purchased on iPhone" playlist?
