Why was the certification exams so restricted at TechEd Bangalore?

Hi,
I have a question around the eligibility to sit the certification exams in Bangalore. The criteria was:
A fully paid SAP TechEd '06 Bangalore conference registrant as on October 20, 2006; AND
A registered SAP consultant (SAP employee, partner, or independent) in India; OR
An SAP Customer Core Competency Center team member in India; OR
An employee of an SAP partner or customer in India.
As an Australian, visiting from IBM Australia - I met only the first of the eligibility criteria - I was a fully paid registrant. Does this mean the level of certification is different country by country? Did the Las Vegas and Amsterdam Tech Ed's have the same level of restriction?
Any thoughts/insight is greatly appreciated.

As we are discussing SAP certifications, I just thought I'd share a few more rules ( Bizarre rules I must say) of the tech ED B'lore Certifications.
" Every aspirant of the tech ED certification should have had one Year of employment with his current employer and should have <i>atleast 2 years of SAP implementation experience"</i>
In my case, as I joined the SAP world directly after university, I could not meet the rule of "2 years of SAP implementation experience" and was not allowed to take up my XI certification
I guess experience does matter , but what is most surprising is if you take the SAP training on XI, you are allowed to take the certification along with it and in such cases experience doesnt matter!
When Netweaver is a fusion of both the Java and ABAP worlds ( with Webdynpro , EP and even in XI ) the fact that people are still required to have 2 years of SAP experience is not fair.
What this rule implies for all the people who move in from the J2EE world into SAP Netweaver is that you got to work in the technology for 2 years before you qualify for the certification or you attended the training SAP provides and you can take it immediately.
Maybe someone can explain this double standards or the reasoning behind the same?

WHY was the Print icon removed?

WHY was the Print icon removed?
I want it back.
I used to have an icon for printing on the Toolbar in 3.5.5.
When I asked where it went, I found this answer: "That Print window will show every time you go to print something in Firefox 3.6+ versions, the option to suppress that window from appearing and the user to be able to print "directly" was removed." Tried to reinstall 3.5.5 but couldn't. Not liking 3.6 at all

Took a tad more than just "going to Customize. " First thing to do was figure out where "Customize" might be. Just guessing, I clicked the three-horizontal-line box at far right end of the address bar. Downloads was on that menu. But I want it on my toolbar, where it used to be at far right of address box. At bottom of the Menu screen there was a bar, Customize. Clicked that and got a screen where I could move Download and other icons around by clicking on the icon, holding, and dragging. But that didn't get it on the toolbar. Finally, out of curiosity I right-clicked the icon to see what would happen. I got a small box giving me choice to Move to Toolbar. Clicked that. BINGO!!! Also figured out you can do same by clicking View/Toolbars/Customize, then right click any icon you want on Toolbar and put it there. Thanks for starting me in right direction.

Why was the link button removed from the piano roll?

Why was the LINK (chain) button removed from the piano roll? This makes Logic X useless to me as I can no longer compose or perform new lines based on previous midi performances. PLEASE BRING IT BACK!

I miss that button too and just filled out the LX Feedback form (Menubar -> Logix Pro X-> Feedback) with the following text. Maybe if you guys did the same, we had a chance revive this essetial feature!!!

it seems as if the Link Button (Yellow chain symbol) has been removed from the piano roll for no reason. In Score View it is still there.
I (and probably more users) absolutely NEED that Button to decouple the content of the piano roll from the selected track/region AND to use multiple piano roll windows with independent content.
- For transscripting (Mute/Solo Audio regions while editing a Midi-Region)
- For arranging. Edit 2 different midi regions both in separate Piano Roll windows
- For recording. "Reading" Drum-Patterns while recording the Bass e.g.
Please bring that button back or explain why it was removed

Have you looked at Delete and Close Gap as well as Delete for what you describe?
Nonetheless, adding or moving clips to an existing Timeline content without disturbing the existing Timeline content can be challenging and complex under certain scenarios.
Typical solutions include making these moves with a keyboard modified held down (Windows Alt or Ctr). I am strictly an Elements Windows user, so we will need to find the Mac counterparts for the Windows keyboard modifier techniques.
Also, if one move triggers a multi-chain disaster, then you should consider grouping block of clips so that they do not move while you are busy with your Timeline maneuvers. Check out the Clip Menu options for Group and Ungroup.
Some times in the "Mac condition", you need to use fn in addition to the command to achieve some of these Windows counterparts.

It is demo'd with Premiere Elements 8, but the principles are the same for later versions of the program.

You should not have to delete audio to prevent it from being split by an addition to an existing Timeline. The keyboard modifiers should help you resolve this type of issue.

What's happened to the Certification Exam?

I just sat (and passed) the CF7 exam on monday.
I hadn't looked at the certification section of www.adobe.com
for a while, and now it's all changed.
There's barely any mention of the CF7 exam in the whole site,
the list of certified deveoplers has gone and I don't even know
what to call myself now - am I ACE, ACP or something else?
I tried registering with the certified community section, but
it says I don't exist.
Can someone at Adobe please explain what's going on? I've put
a lot of time and money into the exam, which I don't want
wasted.

Thats a very specific situation, not worth teh worry imho.
If the employer has not heard of the certification, chances
are high it is
not important to him/her. The coldfusion certification is one
of those certs
that is not taken seriously in the industry (heck, even cf is
not taken all
that seriously!), so I wouldn't worry too much about it - the
main reason to
do this exam, i feel, is to ascertain your own level of
understanding.

Why was the extended star schema scrapped?

Hi,
BW on HANA takes out the dimension tables and gives us back the original star schema structure.
Now my questions are
- How did the original extended star schema help the old BW on oracle or DB2 systems? I mean what was the need for such a design
- If it offered some kind of optimization .. then why was it scrapped in BW on HANA? Couldn't it have added on to the performance that HANA DB brought?

Is the certification exam too easy?

I got certified with the 310-035 exam this week and I must say I am a little surprised how easy the exam was compared to the mock exams I was studying with for the past week and a half. I don't know if I should be proud or not because I thought this was going to be tough. I have to admit, If the exam had the kind of questions my study guide had, It would have been pretty close whether I passed or not.
What is your opinion of the exam?

The exam does what it is supposed to do. It tests that you understand the syntax of the language, and how basic concepts work. I.e. that you have ability to read code written by others, and that you understand how it works. It does not test your programming skills.

Why was the swype-right gesture to show opened tabs removed?

In previous versions of Firefox for Android you could swype the screen with 2 fingers to the right, and it would show a list of opened tabs. That design was smooth and very easy to access.
Why was this removed?
Is there any swyping equivalent for new version of tabs on top?

For me it was more intuitive and easier to browse and see all tabs.
But if everybody says otherwise, I'll have to adjust =)

The current one shows only few items, it´s hard to see how many tabs are open and while I'm browsing them I don't know where exactly I stand.

I have a similar problem and have spent three sequential days at the Apple Genius Bar before we were able to exclude most other possibilities and found that certain files (in my case all mp3s from CDs I own) that play just fine in iTunes 11.0.1 and that used to play in iOS 6.0.1 do not play in iOS 6.1. We restored the phone to factory settings and synced only a few of the music files that were problematic. They still did not play. We reproduced the problem on my iPad mini (iOS6.1).
Apple Telephone Support suggestion was to convert all mp3 files in iTunes to AAC (which according to Apple Website may degrade sound quality). No further suggestions or escalation but a recommendation to place comments on www.apple.com/feedback and, if there are enough complaints, someone at Apple might take an interest in this problem. Something has changed in iOS 6.1 where files that played on prior mobile system software no longer work.
Apple, please pay attention to this glitch with iOS 6.1.

Why was the management of WiFi networks removed?

Whoever decided, that the dialog should be removed is hopefully fired by now. I am amazed that such a fundamental tool removal was missed by the final product QA. Are we really supposed to manage our profiles from the command line?
And why the hell can I just not add the same SSID twice and Windows 8.1 offers me to
CHANGE THE CURRENT connection instead of saying the name is already in use and I have to choose another one? Who designs such UX?
You really need to fix that back to what it was in Windows 7 with Windows 9.
Sorry for the rant, but this issue is just driving me mad!

If you click on the WIFI-Status symbol a sidebar opens and here you can see all the found or listed WIFI-Networks.
IF you are doing a right-click on the Symbol you come to the old network-manager.
