Why we only have stereo sound with Apple TV?
How can I have Digital 5.1 or Surround sound when viewing a movie with apple TV?
To begin with provide more information:
Through what are you expecting to get 5.1 sound, how is it connected? HDMI/optical?
Assuming the movie is from itunes store does it specify that is has 5.1 track? If so check AppleTVs sound settings.

I only have one account with apple and the software was preinstalled when I purchased my macbook in Aug 2012 with that account. You log into the App store using the same Apple ID you used to set the computer up, verify that none of your apps are hidden and that they have all be accepted and then download and install the update

You get the message because that is exactly the situation. Apple has not allowed any Flash on iOS devices.
What site are you trying to see? Many sites now provide Flash alternatives. For example, if you want to listen to Pandora, instead of using the Flash on the Pandora website, instead you download the Pandora app for the iPad.
In the future, even if Apple wants to add Flash to the iPad, it won't be able to because Adobe will no longer be making it at all, for any mobile device:

If you often go to sites that use a lot of Flash and they don't have an alternative, you should write to them and tell them to stop using Flash. -

guys after a long time...i finally shifted to mac ...a long time windows user...so far the experience is been good..
ok here is my first problem with this setup
in india its a pain to get a toslink to mini adapter ...finally i found one and connected the mini end to headphone jack behind my imac...
(imac 21.5 mid june 2011) and optical end to my hometheatre ...
in audio midi setup the multichannel option is set to stereo 2ch 16 bit..
perian is installed and set to use dolby prologic..
i only get stereo sound from itunes,vlc or movist or even xbmc and boxee...tried them all configured the audio to use 5.1 but no luck,

any help would be greatly appreciated .....Hello John, I figured it was a signal issue. All the speakers fire and the sound is great. I was running the speakers thru a Dell PC with a Creative X-Fi Elite Pro, THX Certified, 7.1 soundcard using a fiber optic from the Mac Pro to the Z906's, it worked great until the Dell died!!! When I bought the soundcard from Creative I also bought the GigaWorks S750, THX Certified, 700 watt, 7.1 speaker system, used the speakers for 11 years and then the woofer/amp said "I QUIT" Creative quit making the speaker system and the sound card. The satellite speakers from the Creative GigaWorks speaker system still sound great (rated at 78 watt each) and are a little better speaker than the one's that came with the Z906 and the wattage from the 906 is sufficient to drive the satellites without any distortion. Thank you for addressing my issue, you confirmed what I suspected all along, just needed to hear it from someone with the same setup.
One last question, I purchased a Diamond Multimedia USB Soundcard, can't use the fiber optic(not supported by Mac) but the green, tan and black RCA's plug in and produces adequetly. When you plug your 906's into the Mac Pro using the fiber optic how do you set your speaker configuration? When I plug into the mac pro with fiber optic the 'Audio Midi Setup' does not seem to see the 5.1 configuration. Any thoughts there?

I have surround sound with my LCD TV. Will my new iPad into HDML connection and Utube, iTunes etc. produce surround sound?
ATV definitely supports AC3 DD 5.1... etc, but definately not through AirPlay, only streamed through the inet.
I also found, in the case of Netflix, that the AC3 is preserved in the highest bandwidth mode but not available in the lowest. (frankly i did not test the intermediate bandwidth)
I was quite pleased with the sound and picture from Netflix.
I am not so patiently waiting for AirPlay to support AC3 DD or DDPlus because I record my home video in %.1 surround (AVCHD) and can preserve it through Final Cut Pro and DVD or Red Laser, but cannot use the intended cable replacement (AirPlay) to play them.
Bummer..
I think/hope if more people request surround sound via AirPlay Apple may then follow through on this otherwise good idea.

On photoshop element 12 when I open a .MTS file I have the sound with a black screen if I open a .mov it work fine I have uninstall and reinstall I still have the same problem can you help?

Why do I have to enter my apple id for every purchase in the app store. I thought the new ios would remember it every time.
It only "remembers" such for 15 minutes after the first purchase. This is done for security reasons. It is app updates that no longer require a password.

LaCie 6TB drive ejects when Air sleeps: I use two 6TB LaCie drives - home and office with my Air, which travels with me between the locations. Only have a problem with one that inappropriately ejects when the Air sleeps (and only sometimes). Is there a fix? I've read others who believe that the problem is with the operating system (I'm using 10.9.2). But my problem suggests that it's with one of the LaCie's. Any suggestions about how to fix?
Lacie doesnt make HD, thats a Seagate inside the box.

Yes, get a 4TB max HD, 6TB drives are both new and have known issues, ...in fact so do most all 4TB drives.

Large external hard drives are great! Large external hard drives are horrible
It is a common premise that people are overjoyed at the dropping prices per terabyte on external hard drives, and the first thing that enters most peoples minds is "great, I can put all my stuff on one drive,... all of it!" However considerations need to be made in creating a giant single choke point for not mere data loss, but seriously large data loss. If there is at the very least yet another redundant copy, this is fine, otherwise do not consider it whatsoever. Some 3TB and 4TB drives of all mfg. have, at the time of this writing, reliability concerns currently and best recommendation is staying at 2TB drives or less.
Advantages and disadvantages of larger 3TB and 4TB external drives must be weighed
