Why,when I always like Google,does Certified have to have taken its place

I love Firefox for I just don't feel comfortable with Microsoft trying to be Big Brother;I almost prefer Mozilla being Big Brother,but Google does such a spot on job of searching,since Certified goes to the craziest places and no rhyme or reason for their choices. Where did Certified come from in the first place? I certainly did not ask for them! I wished that Mozilla would remove them from my site anyway.

Certified does not sound familiar.
There are many different search hijackers and they may change different parts of Firefox. Where are you noticing this?
* Search bar (search box with the drop-down list of search engines)
* Address bar searches
* Firefox's built-in home page
* New tab page
Some of these are easily reset using this add-on: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/searchreset/
Others take a bit more digging.
Also, you should disable any nonessential extensions, since they can reset your search settings at the next startup. You would do that here:
orange Firefox button ''or'' classic Tools menu > Add-ons > Extensions category

From the now playing screen, bring up the scrubber bar(tap the screen):
A small icon that looks like two circular arrows is on the left side below the scrubbing bar. Tap this icon once to repeat the album. The icon will turn blue when repeat is activated. Tap the icon again to repeat the current song. The icon will change to show the number 1 inside a blue circle. Touch the icon a third time to cancel any repeat. Why no tleave them spread out I hear you ask... That is not practicable. I then have 12 pages to scan rather than just two. I need a solution... :-P

I realize this is an old thread but I'm having the same problem after upgrading my software today. Kinda surprised there are no solutions at all with 88 views. I have an iPod touch btw, not an iPhone, but it prob wouldn't make much difference in this case.
The thing is, I get the screen(s) looking EXACTLY as I want on iTunes...just perfect (which is what I believe everyone else is experiencing as well). When we go to sync tho, it does whatever it wants to do. After syncing, all the apps are there, it's just that for me, it puts them in some type of random order. I have 72 apps and this is absolutely ridiculous!

Why, when I restart Firefox 4, does it open large numbers of empty windows as well as my previous window?

I have Firefox 4 set to save the windows from my last session. When I restart Firefox, it does this OK, but then opens several blank windows as well. The number seems to be increasing - just now I got 14!
I run Win XP Pro

I have firefox 3.6 and 4 on XP and have not noticed such problems.
If you have blank pages open they will get saved and reopen along with the other open tabs. Maybe some of them are scrolled off screen and you do not notice them. Note if you include pipe symbols in the home list they open blank tabs.
If you are talking about separate windows maybe your autorestores kept as sessionsore files are getting messed up. Remember you have options to save open tabs as bookmarks, and if you (Windows users) right click on a tab that gives a bookmark all tabs option.
Try opening firefox and when closing it, closing each open window in turn and then when you reopen allowing it to re-open a couple of times without using the option to restore previous settings ie use the option '''''Start new Session'''''
If that fails it may then be worth considering manually deleting ''sessionstore.js'' and any backup or additional copies of that - '''but''' remember to first save the open tabs as bookmarks if they are important.

Note also Firefox 4 has changed its default behaviour, but it does normally save the tabs on closing down, it just does not by default ask you if that is what is required, and on reopening you then need to use the restore option, which may be displayed as an option in the centre of the screen.

My brand new iMac loses its WiFi connection when it goes to sleep, does anyone have a proven fix?.

I have a MacBook that is about 4 years old and a brand new iMac both are running the most up to date version of Lion. My old MacBook has no issues; however, my iMac loses its WiFi connection every time it goes to sleep. There are some discussions about this already out there but does anyone have a proven fix. I was having the same problem for a long time. I tried everything but nothing seemed to make it stay connected. It was very frustrating. I just got a new Airport Extreme.....bang!.....all better. Problem gone.

Why when I resize an image does it looks less sharp and poor quality?

I've been using Photoshop since CS3 and have never had thus problem before. I used to create websites using WordPress for clients and have created many different logo images without any issues. Now however I'm doing it for muself and I'm having problems when I resize the images for web use.
Here are a few examples. The first is a 1400x1400 image that I'm going to use for a podcast. iTunes requires this size and it looks good to my eye. When you look at the resized image however you'll see that it is not quite as sharp.

I've tried all different things to get it to look good at any size but no mater what when the image gets resized (especially by a CMS or Twitter) it looks like crap. I've tried saving as png, jpeg, flatteing before resizing, resizing the psd, saving as jpeg then resizing, using save for web option but no matter what it doesn't look right.

When you scale down, you will lose some of the sharpness because it is removing pixels from the image, and Photoshop is trying to figure out how to remove pixels, and reassemble the edges of the image.. As a result, when some of that shading is removed, it begins to blur. Make sure when scaling down an image (image - image size) that you set the resampling to bicubic sharper. This will help to reduce the blur from the pixel removal.
Also, you can go to filter - sharpen - unsharp mask - and work on bringing back some of the sharpness there as well.
For your twitter logo - I would make a separate logo for it, because the text is difficult to read over it. Sorry - just my opinion there.

If this is an IMAP account, try going to Mail/Preferences/Accounts/Mailbox Behaviors and uncheck Store drafts on server.

To Reset Firefox do the following:
#Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
#Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
#Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.

Why when sharing movie with IDVD does the movie repeat itself?

After completing movie in Imovie, I send to IDVD. When previewing IDVD to ensure it's ok, I notice that the entire movie repeats itself. How can I delete the second movie?

That's interesting, Mary. Since iDVD can't fit more than 2hrs onto a DVD (are you using the Pro setting in Preferences?), some iDVD setting is causing the movie to loop.

No, that simply does not, or rather should not happen.
If the device is unresponsive, try a reset by pressing and holding the home and power buttons for 15-20 seconds until the white Apple logo appears.

You need to change the 'Info" for the songs.
Go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Manage Your Music Library>Add and Edit Information>Edit Song and CD information.
You want the Infor pane for each song you want tther to be part of the same album.

Before attempting the steps below, I would highly suggest you visit the latest known issues for the current version, specifically FF 9 release notes.
