when using contacts does my iphone default occasionally straight to messages?

I am entering data to contacts. eg. work telephone....mobile etc on y mac book in correct field. Then syncing with i phone. When i then go to contacts on my iphone and choose either home or or mobile it defaults to message. can you advise

This has been happening since IOS7 was installed and has become worse with 7.1. I have reset the phone several times with no change.The phone charges properly & I have never used anything but an Apple Lightning cable.

I already cleaned the port with compressed air before submitting the problem. I since cleaned it with a toothpick and dug out some more lint. this seems to have just about fixed the problem since I have only had the error pop up 3 times since then and i was getting the error constantly before.

Where do you get this problem?
Is this with the spell checking dictionary or with the language setting?

C3-01 - does the phone send two SMS messages inste...

I decided to purchase this phone, however....
...a friend of mine told me, that when I type SMS message with country specific characters (e.g. ę, ó, ć), the message is split into two messages in the background with no indication to the user. In other words, the phone does not inform me in any way, that I will be charged for two SMS messages instead of only one. In such a situation (usage of country-speciffic letters) other Nokia phones show that a number of characters available in one SMS decreases from 160 to about 90. But C3-01 doesn't inform me about this. :-( So that I never know for how many SMS-es I will pay.
Does anybody know if C3-01 really works like this? Does it show 160 characters available for one SMS, but in reality may split this message into two messages in the background?
I hope that somebody from Nokia team will be able answer this question...

Yes, C3-01 does have the letter counter, but it seems that the counter shows wrong data (that is my doubt about the phone). I mean, that it shows 160 characters in one SMS, but in reality only 70 characters are available (because UNICODE is used).
So that, you type SMS 130 characters long and you think that you will be charged for one SMS (because the phone shows 160 letters available in one SMS). But looking at your billing, you see that the message was split into two SMS-es and you are charged for both of them.
I would like to find out if the phone behaves like this - showing one SMS on the screen, but in reality splitting this SMS into two separate messages.

I know a lot of people with iphone 5 and have never heard them complain about top button always brake and screen that decides to pop off or the back of their case is bending.
That sounds like a phone that has been dropped a numerous times.

Why you can't redownload? Don't you have the Apple ID that used to download these apps?
You can "transfer purchaces" by right click on your iphone in iTunes but i guess you computer is not authorized and will ask you to authorize with Apple ID. Try it.

Another way. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

Because it behaves differently depending on whether the phone is locked (in standby) or unlocked (in use) when the call comes in.

It is supposed to shut off on its own. Some users have reported cases or screen covers that have interfered with the proper functioning of the proximity sensor. If you've removed those and cleaned the screen and still have the same problem you may have a defective proximity sensor. taimsesasta, Not positive, but I was using a picture that had orange in it as my login icon, and when I changed it to a pic that was basically gray, the Apple logo no longer flashed orange. Somehow, it seems, that the Apple logo was momentarily picking up the orange color from my login art and then returning to its normal gray. That's all I know at this point.

I want to help make it as easy possible to charge your device myluv2drive! Is this happening with the original charging cable itself or is this an alternate charger? Have you tried a battery pull since this started? Did this happen the first time you tried charging it? Any different response when trying alternate outlets?

I'm not sure if the recipient is using plain text or not and I don't think they could tell me if they were. I only know they're using an older PC . . . I'm sending in Rich text.
I've been sending them by goin' to Edit>Special Characters>selecting the emoticon from the list and inserting where I've clicked in the message which works when I send a message to myself.
I thought the other end might be getting them as attachments, but I don't know for sure. I've been goin' through my manual to find some sort of reference to that issue, but came up with nuthin'. I imagine I could try to send a plain text email to see what happens.
