Why will None of the Add ons Load in 3.6?

Why will none of my add on's load? I have used "Down Load Helper and a Screen Capture" fo years. Now Fire Fox will not load them.

Tried to do the compatibility check with "Find updates". The command doesn't "light up" The only two that can be used are "options" and "Cancel Install." Have also reinstalled the add-ons with no luck.

    IMO, too many similar extensions, which may not interact well with each other.

    I was using Google Chrome to use on Facebook. I had problems with it and multiple users told me the way to go was to switch to Firefox. I downloaded it and while reviewing the get aquainted information, it seems most of the add-ons say" Not available with Firefox11. Why did I bother if their newest product does not support their own add-ons?

  • I updated Firefox and the extensions and keep getting "restart firefox for changes to take effect." Even after restarting, none of the add-ons actually update and do not appear, for instance, noscript. Please help!

    There are a bunch of add-ons that recently were updated, including noscript, adblock, etc. These add-ons were updated successfully and say in the add-on window they will be installed the next time Firefox restarts. There's also a bar that says "restart firefox now" and even when clicking restart firefox, none of the updates seem to load. I had to manually download the noscript the last time to get it to work but alas with the latest update, again, same problems. i tried disabling other plugins with no impact either. Anyone else having a similar problem and does anyone know how to get this resolved?

    Delete the files extensions.* (extensions.rdf, extensions.cache, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox [[Profiles|profile folder]] to reset the extensions registry. New files will be created when required.

    If you see disabled, not compatible, extensions in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the "Find Updates" button (in Firefox 4: right-click the extension -> "Find Updates") to do a compatibility check.

  • I was automatically updated to Version 11 which is still in Beta but none of the add ons I need are compatible

    I'm VERY frustrated. The new version 11 is still in Beta and I got automatically upgraded without even being asked. As it is 3rd party software I've been sent made for FF hasn't been compatible to V10, so I've lost the ability to use them. How do I shut that feature off?
    Now I feel I got stuck with this beta release yet there's almost no add ons compatible with this release and at this point I need them in order to function properly. How do I go back to V10?

    Hello. If you are having trouble with the Beta version, uninstall all versions completely. Then go to Mozilla Firefox and install the regular version as if it were new.
    When I try a Beta version, I open a new folder (Mozilla Firefox Beta) and install the Beta version there.
    I still like the regular version of Firefox. I don't see anything new on this Beta version that I like, and it isn't compatible to my favorite theme or add-ons.

    I have twice downloaded the latest version in the last month. Each time I encountered the same problems. the Weather Channel add-on I have did NOT appear in the latest version.     This is NOT an improved version. I have been using Firefox for years without problems; I prefer it to Internet Explorer. However the latest 'improved' version may change my mind.

    The problem is that the Add-ons Manager tab when opened the first time, is on "Get Add-ons" section and that must be downloaded from the Add-ons server which might be overburdened.

  • Why does the Add-ons manager take an excessive time to load and can I view my add-ons without going to the add-ons manager?

    When I start my browser up my everything that I have been working on comes up without any problem and I can open a new tab to go to another site without a problem, but when I go to the Add-ons Manager it can take over 3 minutes to load and that's if I don't stop it.   • The Add-ons Manager will not display!

    I've been having an intermittent problem with certain features not displaying at all. First it was that I could not "Customize" my toolbar for quite a while. It finally returned suddenly, in FF v4.01, after being unavailable since v3.5.
    I've also been without the Magnifying Glass search icon since v3.5, which is still missing. And the show "Properties" option has also disappeared from the Right-Click Context menu, I don't remember if it started in FF v3.x , but I think it was right after upgrading to v4, and it hasn't returned since either.
    Now it's the Add-ons Manager that has quit working. It has happened a few times before, but quitting and restarting Firefox brought it back.
    This time, however, it seems to be completely disabled. I had just removed the IE Tab Plus extension, to be sure I hadn't installed it over the original IE Tab, which they said could cause unpredictable issues.
    Next I used "Install Extensions" from the File menu of the Add-ons Manager tab, and selected a copy of IE Tab Plus I had saved to disk last October 2010 to re-install it. But nothing seemed to happen. No pop-up, or any indication/notification that an extension was about to be installed - nothing.
    So I did a search for IE Tab Plus to acquire the latest version from it's Mozilla Add-ons page, where I noticed a "Comment" claiming the IE Tab Plus author was using it to secretly install Ad-ware, and recommended using IE Tab 2 instead.
    I decided to do as suggested, but there is no link on the page to install IE Tab 2 from either. I decided to quit and reload Firefox, yet even in Safe Mode, I still can not get the Add-ons Manager Tab to load.
    Note:
    I also have Mr. Tech's cool Toolkit extension, which I believe added the "Extension Options" item to the Tools menu, and it is also empty now. It was not empty just before this. In fact it still displayed my extensions list after the Add-ons Manager had already failed to load again at all.

    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

    This can be a problem with the file(s) that store the extensions registry.

  • Why are my installed extentions on FF 5.01 suddenly not showing up in the add-ons window tab (to change preferences), even though the extentions (like Google toolbar and Awesome Screenshot) are visible on the FF interface?

    My Google toolbar was working fine earlier this morning. A few hours later, the search window stopped opening new tabs. I did some snooping and discovered that none of my extension add-ons were showing up in the add-ons tab. However, the appearance and plug-ins are still listed. When I click on the Extensions tab there is just a small box that says "You don't have any add-ons of this type installed." However, my Google toolbar, Add Blocker, and Awesome Screenshot etc. is still visible in the FF interface. When I try to uninstall the Google toolbar using the options button on the toolbar itself, nothing happens. What's up?

    Afterwords there were some changes in Add-ons that were enabled/disabled that then had to be straightened out.
    I disabled Test Pilot which was in the process of testing thinking that it might have had something to do with the problem. I have not updated to the latest version of 5.0 because one favorite Add-on [Firegestures] is supposed to be incompatible.

    To answer the post title FireFox save all downloads automatically in the download folder, which you can find in the Documents folder. If you want to choose where to save your downloads go to tools>options>check always ask me where to save files.
    Secondly, I am assuming you have IE 8 installed as this is the only version that supports this fix that is currently not in beta. Go to control panel>internet options>advanced tab and reset the settings at the bottom. This may or may not fix the problem but it is a good first step.
