Why won't Adobe Application Manager Install?

I downloaded a PDF file from the internet, and ever since then none of my Adobe products work. I tried downloading the Application Manager again and it says it downloads, but when I click on it and tell it to run it freezes. I've waited almost half an hour with nothing happening.
I am running Windows 7 on HP Pavilion m7 using Firefox 21.0.
Everything downloaded fine the first time I downloaded.
Appreciate any help.

Here is what PDApp showed for today when I tried to open Dreamweaver.
Basically the same message was the same every day since May 7 although I know I've used Adobe Programs since then, especially Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop and InDesign.

Do you have any better luck with that if you update to iTunes 10.6.1.7?
From the notes for the release:
iTunes 10.6.1 provides a number of improvements, including:
    • Fixes several issues that may cause iTunes to unexpectedly quit while playing videos, changing artwork size in Grid view and syncing photos to devices.
    • Addresses an issue where some iTunes interface elements are incorrectly described by VoiceOver and WindowEyes.
    • Fixes a problem where iTunes may become unresponsive while syncing iPod nano or iPod shuffle.
    • Resolves an ordering problem while browsing TV episodes in your iTunes library on Apple TV.

  • Why is my Adobe Application Manager telling me it is not a genuine copy.

I've restarted my computer and the Application Manager keeps telling my program is not genuine while it is updating, and I downloaded it from my Creative Cloud account. I don't know what to do, because I have no control of the application because it keeps automatically updating.

Please download and install the latest Adobe Application Manager from the following link and this should fix your problem:

  • Why is the Adobe Application Manager in a language other than English?

I'm not sure if I accidently chose the wrong option when setting up my account, but the Adobe Application Manager seems to have all the text (other than product names) in what I think is German, not English. Is there a way to fix that for future downloads if needed?
Everything else seems to be working fine though.
    Gracias.

    Thanks!
Unfortunately, there are no prefs to change. (At least not in the usual spot where Preferences are supposed to be on a Mac running Snow Leopard…)

I tried to install Application Manager and an error message came up telling me that it was a counterfiet. Not a genuine Adobe product. I've downloaded 3 programs before with no problems. Has something changed that I missed. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Adobe Application Manager won't install anything!

I've been trying to update Photoshop CS5 to 12.0.4, and the Adobe Application Manager (AAM) keeps asking me for my system admin password.  Everytime I enter it, the window pops up again.  I could enter my password a dozen times, it won't begin any updates or installations.
    I have tried:
    shutdown and restart
    changing my admin password
installing non-Adobe software (to see if it was an OS X problem)
uninstalling all my Adobe software (same problem as trying to install)
I'd really like to be able to update my software.  Anybody know what to do?
    -Sean
iMac 2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    OS X 10.7.3

Thanks Jeff!  That worked like a charm.  I've never enabled a root user, but now that I know that exists, I'll keep that in mind if I have any other installation issues (Adobe or otherwise).
A question remains - why is AAM being stubborn with my admin password?  If anyone knows, that'd be great, otherwise, I consider this answered.

  • Adobe Application Manager Won't Open and CC Desktop failed to install

I am running Win 7 Ultimate. Adobe Application Manager Won't Open and CC Desktop failed to install on my computer after I signed up for Adobe CC tonight. I am currently using the CS5 suite (perpetual license) and do not want to uninstall any of the programs until I am successfully running the Adobe CC versions. The AAM gives me an error message saying that it failed to open when I select it, and the creative cloud installer fails to install. I have tried restarting my computer. Help? This is very frustrating. I am a student and use this software on a daily basis, and can't afford to not have these programs available when I need them.

  • Adobe Application Manager won't update on Win 8.1 - cannot install apps

Since updating this PC to Windows 8.1, the Adobe Application Manager which manages the Creative Cloud apps will not update itself, hence we cannot install or update CC apps (specifically, Acrobat).
On clicking the download button on the Acrobat page of CC, the Adobe Application Manager starts to update itself, then quits with the error:
    We've encountered the following issues:
Adobe Application Manager failed to install.
    [Quit]
Repeated attempts fail.  We urgently need to admin several CC apps so to be forced to use the App Manager causes us substantial business interruption.

    Hi illuminantpartnersnyc ,
Please close all the Adobe application, browsers running at the back and try to install again. If still the same error please follow the mentioned steps:
    1. Please navigate to C/Program Files(X86)/Common Files/Adobe/OOBE and rename to OOBE.old
Please go to C/User/User Name/App date/Local/Adobe/OOBE and rename it to OOBE.old
Log to to CC desktop: https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud and run as admin to install it.
If still the same error then please enable hidden admin: http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/9650-built-administrator-account-enable-disable-windo ws-8-a.html and try to install again from hidden admin account.
Please review the log : http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cs5-cs5.html if still the error persists.

  • Why does Adobe Application Manager fail to install?

I just subscribed to the Creative Cloud. I am trying to download applications.  The download starts with an update to Application Manager.  Each time, I get the error message,"We've encountered the following issues:  Adobe Application Manager failed to install."  I'm not able to install any of the CC applications.  [I've tried Acrobat and Photoshop.]

I'm going to write this information cause it was so darn frustrating and after two days I finally got it - so here goes - resolution:
I'm running windows 7, and was trying to download cloud which apparently I was forced to do based on my subscription base (was on CS6 before that)
Step 1: start task manager and close ALL adobe running apps including akami session
Step 2: click on the windows icon and type in search bar %appdata%, enter
Step 3: in browser bar above of folder, click on "appdata" (my file directory when i typed step two was C:\Users\study\AppData\Roaming, and I need to be be at C:\Users\study\AppData)
Step 4: Click Local, then Adobe, then oobe, delete the oobe file
Step 5: Go the the following to download the "cleaner tool": http://download.macromedia.com/pub/creativecloud/cleanertool/win/Adobe_Creative_Cloud_Clea ner_Tool.zip
Step 6: Unzip the file and click on the AdobeCreativeSuiteCleanerTool.exe, that was in my directory as follows (dependent on where you download and unzip of course) C:\Users\study\Downloads\adobe_creative_suite_cleaner_tool (1)\win
Step 7: select (e) in the black box for "english", select (y) for yes, select creative cloud (whichever option # that is) and again anything with creative cloud (this did NOT delete my other adobe files, which I feared may - but I was simply instructing it to clean/delete the creative cloud.
Step 8: close the black window
Step 9: Click here: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4773  and download the creative cloud adobe application manager
    Step 10: Run the application
Step 11: Log in and download the software you want
If that doesn't work, what I did is between steps 4 and 5 I restarted my computer, then I went into task manager and closed all adobe apps.  I'm not sure I had to do this step but I was desperate after 2 days doing whatever.  Each tech person gave me different information.  The last person helped me best, but I spoke with her via chat AFTER I had rebooted the computer.  If you need support click http://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html and I personally did the "chat" so I wouldn't have to wait.
Hope this helps anyone who hasn't figured it out!

  • Why won't application manager install

Just purchased Photoshop Elements & Premiere Elements 13 and installed OK but when opening the programme I get an erro message telling me to download Application Manager. Having done this and clicking the "run" option to set it up I get an error message saying it "failed to initialise" and to dowwnload Adobe Support Advisor which no longer exists - haen't a clue where to go from here - can anybody advise?

    Hi,
The error message saying it "failed to initialize" appears when you try to install the products.
It might be possible that your products have downloaded correctly but you are not able to initialize set-up.exe.
Either the Setups(for PSE13 and PRE13) you have downloaded are corrupted or Adobe Application Manager on your machine is corrupted.
1.Try downloading the setups again from :
Adobe - Download free trial version Adobe Photoshop Elements 13 | Adobe
Adobe - Download free trial version Adobe Premiere Elements 13 | Adobe
2.If the problem still persists please download and update Adobe Application manager on your machine and then run Setup.exe
Adobe - Adobe Application Manager : For Windows : Adobe Application Manager
    Please update with the results.
    Thanks,
    Shikha

  • Please help! My CS6 won't open and Adobe Application Manager keeps popping up to renew CS Cloud subscription.

    Hi there.
I recently canceled my CS Cloud subscription about 3 weeks ago and went back to using CS6. I was using CS6 Creative Suite without a problem until 2 days ago. Now my CS6 programs (AI, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat) won't open. Instead the Adobe Application Manager keeps popping up to renew the subscription, see below insert.
I have chatted with Adobe customer support numerous times but when it comes to transferring me to their technical support, the chat mysteriously becomes unavailable. The only time the transfer went through, I was advised to remove CS6 Creative Suite using Cleaner Tool and reinstall, which I did but my CS6 still does not open and the AAM keeps popping up giving me the same message to renew the subscription. The AI/Photohop icons just keep bouncing up and down without opening while the AAM pops up.
What can I do to stop this annoying AAM from popping up and open my CS6? I just want my CS6 to open up again. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Please help!
