Why won't Adobe Reader accept my password to convert pdf to Word?

I know my password is registered! And, I cannot believe my year is up on the $20 fee! But, if it was, you would think I would get an email from Adobe reminding me to resubscribe or an error message reminding me to re-register and pay the fee, again!

  • Why won't Adobe reader no longer let me view previously download (from Safari) pdf's? I am running OSX 10.8.5 and have uninstalled and reinstalled latest version of Reader?

Why won't Adobe reader no longer let me view previously download (from Safari) pdf's? I am running OSX 10.8.5 and have uninstalled and reinstalled latest version of Reader. I get this error message "Adobe Reader could not open 'OD Test Bed Proposals_0.pdf' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded)."  I have tried changing the 'open with' options too. Thanks

    Try this:
    Go to: Mac HD/Library/Internet Plug-ins
Trash the AdobePDFViewer.plugin and AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin files
    Empty the trash
Relaunch Safari. You can now download undamaged PDFs.

  • Why won't adobe reader open my jpeg files?

why won't adobe reader 11 open my jpeg files?

    Hi Nassman,
Adobe Reader is a read only software for PDF files. JPEG is not a supported format which would open in Adobe Reader. You would need to open Jpeg in application which supports this file format.(e.g. Photoshop, Picture Viewer, MS Paint)
Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other question.

I have tried numerous times to put in the password when opening Elements 10.  It would not accept it.  so I decided to get a new password.  In filling out the outline they want you to click yes on the Personal URL.  Meaning I assume that you put your pictures on the wed for others.  I do not want this. Am I not understanding that.    [email protected]

  • Just downloaded adobe XI trial and can not convert pdf to word, says trial is period over

just downloaded adobe XI trial and can not convert pdf to word, says trial is period over. what can i do

For some reason this seems to happen to some. It may be that you have a date issue on the machine and Acrobat noted it. By the way, Adobe is the name of the company, not a product.
I have no idea how Adobe sets and tracks the trial information. It may be there is something else that has caused an issue and Acrobat thinks you have already had the trial on the system and uninstalled it. As far as I know, there is nothing you can do. You might be able to check with sales to see if there is a work-around, but users can do nothing to help you.
Sorry, hope you can find a way to test the product. It might also be related to the version of Windows that you did not state.

  • Why won't app store accept my password on iPhone?

The app store won't accept my password . I've even changed it multiple times to try to fix it. Also I can sign in and out of iTunes with my password, just not on the app store.

I didn't do anything to fix it - the next day, after another reboot (for an unrelated software update) I opened iTunes and tried again, and it worked fine. Go figure.

  • Why won't adobe reader show text?

I am working for my eagle scout rank and in order to do my service project, a form must be filled out on the computer as a pdf. I started the PDF on my old dell, and i downloaded Adobe reader for my mac to finish it. For preview, it takes the lines of the paragraph and overlaps the words, rendering it unreadable, and for adobe reader, the words are invisible unless editing those words. when the text box isnt selected the words disappear. Why isnt this working and is there a setting i can change to fix this?

Difficult to say without further details. The fact that both Preview and Adobe Reader have difficulties with it suggests that the file itself may be corrupt—or that you have fonts issues on your Mac.
You need to isolate the problem. Download another PDF file and check if it shows any anomalies. Gather info on the problem file; eg, in Preview, use Inspector (Tools > Show Inspector) and check PDF version, content creator, and PDF creator.

  • Why won't itunes store accept my password?

This is making me crazy.  I downloaded a couple of tunes earlier today, and after a reboot the iTunes store no longer accepted my password.
Thinking that I had somehow screwed up something I went to Apple's ID manager and changed my password.  Every function (this board, iCloud) will accept my credentials but the iTunes store will not.
Guess Apple does not want my money.  Are there other sites similar to iTunes where I can pay for media content?

I didn't do anything to fix it - the next day, after another reboot (for an unrelated software update) I opened iTunes and tried again, and it worked fine. Go figure.

  • Why won't Adobe Reader install on my iMac OS Yosemite?

Adobe Reader seems to download okay but won't install. Any thoughts?

    No, not fixed.
It is very confusing having two users with two different problems in one discussion.
To the o/p: try the offline installer from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
If that doesn't work either, please provide details on "won't install".

  • Why won't adobe reader open now?

I have just updated my adobe reader software on my ipad as prompted by adobe.  And now it will not open.  Why?

There is currently a problem with the 11.2.2 version of Reader running on iOS6. The engineers already know about it and will have a fix soon.

  • Why won't Adobe Reader X let me save PDFs?

This all started fairly recently, like within the last few weeks.
If I hit save when I am in Adobe Reader X, it does nothing.
    Scenario 1: Online
If I view the docuemnt within my browser, then click on the icon at the bottom that says Save, nothing happens.
    Scenario 2: Offline
If I view a document i have on my hard drive, I can view it fine, but if I highlight something, then save, it says "where do you want to save it" and "are you sure you want to overwrite?" and then nothing happens.  If I then attempt to close it, it will say "Do you want to save it?" then the other two questions and then nothing happens.  I have to "Revert" then close if I want to close the document.
Per a previous thread that semed to be abruptly cut short on exactly the same topic, i tried their solutions as well:
Right clicking on a link to a file online, and saving works just fine.
However there was no response from the original asker after those steps, and that didn't help me.
    Any thoughts?

I've seen the same behavior - floating toolbar save button or main toolbar save button ineffective even though enabled.  Win 7, 64 bit + Firefox.  Very frustrating when trying to save local copies of financial statements, etc.  I did find a workaround that hasn't failed me yet:  with a problem document open in the viewer:
Try to save (Ctrl+Shift+S OR floating toolbar OR main toolbar).  If it fails ...
Click print (tried both floating or main toolbar, assumbe Ctrl+Shift+P would work too)
When the print dialog window appears, cancel
    Try save again.
    Works now!

  • Why won't adobe reader download?

    Hi,
I am running windows vista ultimate 32-bit operating system. I had adobe reader 10.1.13. While trying to open an important document, it said that I needed the latest adobe to open. I tried to update to 10.1.4, but it kept getting hung up on step 2.
I finally uninstalled adobe and tried a new download of 10.1.4. But I still can't get past step 2. I have tried to download in both Chrome and IE9 without success. My active scripting is enabled in IE. I finally tried to download adobe XI, but that too failed. I restarted the computer in between each attempt. I had this problem updating updating adobe flash and last week someone provided a link that worked, but I cannot find such help for reader and am hoping someone can help me.
I now have no reader at all and there is a very important, time sensitive document that I need to open from the state of IL. Can someone please help? Thank you.

Use the offline installer from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
Note that Reader XI is not compatible with Vista; download/install Reader 10.1.4, then update it to 10.1.13.

  • Why won't adobe reader print a .pdf?

I have worked on this Mac at my job for 3 years. Much of my job is online research, and I frequently print .pdf documents, or "Open .pdf In Preview" and select pages to print.
About 2 weeks ago I found that .pdfs would no longer print or Open In Preview.  I can still Select the content and copy it to a Word doc and repair the formatting for printing.
But I would really like to just print the .pdf.
How to find out what's wrong?  How to fix it?
I have already re-installed Adobe Reader and downloaded the latest version.
    Thank you for any help.
    Shayne

    Hi Shayne Laughter,
Adobe Reader is for reliably viewing, printing, and annotating PDF documents. It’s the only PDF file viewer that can open and interact with all types of PDF content, including forms and multimedia, hence we cannot print documents to PDF using this.
Also, Preview is a default application in Mac used to view and edit images and PDFs. If you are not able to print documents to PDF then the issue is with Preview and I would suggest you to check with Apple.

  • Why Won't Adobe Reader Find Items in a Document That Are Clearly There?

I performed a regular and advanced search of a document for words that I knew were there and Adobe Reader told me that they were not there. I was looking at one instance of the item that I searched for and Adobe Reader told me that it wasn't there but I was looking directly at one place where the words I am searching are located. Adobe Reader tells me that it is not in the document ANYWHERE, which is a lie because I can read and the words for which I searched are there at least once but Adobe Reader tells me that the words for which I am searching are not in the document at all. This isn't the first time that this exact thing has happened to me with Adobe Reader, I am simply tired of taking extra time out of my day to search a document manually when there are supposed to be tools to do that for me. Sorry for repeating my problem twice but I am frustrated and I want to make myself ABUNDANTLY clear. Can anyone help me?

It all depends on how the PDF was created. One reason text isn't found is because there isn't any text, just an image of text. This will happen with a scanned document that hasn't been OCRed. Another reason is when a font's Unicode mapping table in the PDF are missing or corrupted, which breaks the link between a glyph and its corresponding character code. In short, there is no association between a glyph that looks like an "A" with the letter "A" that you type. If you could post a link to a sample document, we could tell for sure what the problem is.

  • Why doesn't Adobe Reader XI load when viewing online PDFs?

This is probably a stupid question, but I noticed something odd last night.  I have Adobe Reader 9 on my netbook and Adobe Reader XI on my main computer.  I had been browsing some online PDF files on my netbook, and in Adobe Reader 9 I get the Reader "interface", i.e., there is the border surrounding the PDF, with the page number box at the top and I can search the document for various things.  On my main computer with Adobe Reader XI, the PDF files are simply downloading and I don't have the Reader "interface" anymore, so there's no way to search for items or go to specific pages.  Is there someplace to edit my settings in XI so that I get the interface?  Thanks so much for your help.

    Open Chrome
In the address bar, type chrome://plugins and press Enter
Scroll down to the entry called Chrome PDF Viewer and click Disable.
Scroll to the Adobe Reader or Acrobat entry and click Enable.
