Why won't airdrop work with iOS8 or 8.1?

I have been trying to use AIRDROP iPhone 6 plus and MacBook Pro. I can see both of my macs with air drop. I have the air drop folder open on both computers (both running Yosemite) and they see each other just fine. When I try to send files to either computer using my iPhone 6 plus running iOS 8 with air drop nothing happens. The airdrop icons shows up in the sending options but just the icon is there. I can't select it and I can't see the phone on either computer. I have searched for this issue and nobody seems to be reporting the same issue. I have gone into all of the device preferences and Im not finding any option to turn this feature on. I checked for the "hand off" options and everything is turned on with my iPhone. I installed iOS 8.1 today hoping that this would fix the airdrop issues and unfortunately it did nothing.
HELP.
Is there an option Im missing or am I doing something wrong?

I have tried removing old versions of Java (the plugin, etc.), but still receive the error. (I also ensured my Security preferences allowed for all installations).
Any ideas?

Are the other iPods models, same version as yours. The 2 New FM Tx may need a new iPod software, which you can update via iTunes.

Would like to add that I have tried unloading outlook 2013, reinstalling itunes and icloud and still get the "install could not start do to unexpected error" when trying to install icloud controll panel and sync.

Why won't itunes work with windows 8.1? i tunes can not locate my music.

Why won't windows 8.1 let itunes locate my music? I deleted and downloaded, still won't do it. But like majic after I installed windows 8.1 my computer had a XBOX music player appear, that found my 3200 songs and it was able to play the entire library no problem. Any ideas on how i get itunes to start working with windows 8.1?

To resolve this issue you may need to uninstall iTunes and all of it's components, and reinstall the latest version as explained in this article:

Why Won't Hunspell Work With Zero Width Spaces?

Hello,
I was excited to hear that Hunspell dictionaries are now supported in InDesign CS5.5 and I was able to try it out for the first time today. Unfortunately I ran into some problems when using a dictionary for Khmer (the language of Cambodia - UTF-8 - using the World Composer).
Khmer does not have spaces between words, and so to get around this issue (for line breaks as well as spelling/grammar checking), we use zero width spaces between words (U+200B).
The Khmer Hunspell spelling checker dictionary works with zero width spaces in OpenOffice (http://extensions.services.openoffice.org/en/project/khmersbbic - I am the lead author of this Khmer spelling dictionary), but in InDesign (I manually added the dictionary - InDesign uses the Khmer dictionary files fine), the zero width space is not seen as a space that denotes a break between words, therefore words that are correctly spelled are jumbled together as if there are no spaces between them.
Does anyone know how to get InDesign to recognize a zero width space to be a word seperator for spell checking purposes?
Example of sentence correctly spelling using zero width spaces between words (But this is viewed as one long word in InDesign): បើសិនជាអ្នកចង់ទៅយើងអាចទៅបាន។
Example of same sentence with words sperated by "real" space which then allows the Hunspell based Khmer dictionary to correct spelling but makes the text unuseable because Khmer does not have spaces between words): បើ សិន ជា អ្នក ចង់ ទៅ យើង អាច ទៅ បាន។
Any help would be much appreciated. I have already submitted a bug report to Adobe, but not sure how much that will help.

Make a character style with the Horizontal scaling set to 1%, and replace your zero width spaces with a regular space and this character style. That way your own spaces will be unharmed.

Yes, that's a possibility. However, I suppose your text, even though in Khmerian, is divided into lines and paragraphs and pages as usual, so the chances of actually changing even a single page break are pretty slim.

I am using Outlook (Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010) on a Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit Operating System. Until recently iCloud worked really well - I use it mainly for the calendar functionality. However, following an Outlook crash it has been playing up. I have uninstalled it and re-installed it multiple times with no joy. The issue is this...
iCloud appears to work on the PC and I am signed in. However, the iCloud add-in will not load in Outlook but it does appear there. When I select Options > Add-Ins and then click Go on the COM Add-ins management option, the "iCloud Outlook Add-in" appears unchecked in the list. The location is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Internet Services\APLZOD32.dll" and the load behaviour is "Unloaded". Every time I check the box and hit OK I feel confident it will work, but nothing happens and each time I re-load Outlook and go back into the add-ins window the iCloud add-in is unchecked.
Why is this happening now when it used to work fine?
How do I fix it?

No you are not the only one having this problem. I am also having it.
I stumbled with your question (and comments) and started testing on my outlook.
Finally I got it solved (apparently) by turning on both the itunes outlook addin and the icloud complement for outlook.¿Why does outlook turns them off? I really do not know

You could also try a reset and see if it's recognised after the iPad has restarted : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
I haven't had problems using the kit with SD cards from Canon cameras . What capacity is the card, and it's an SD or SDHC card - if it's an SDXC card that's formatted as ExFAT then it won't be recognised

It says my computer isn't authorized to play that song so I type in my password and it pops up with a menu saying my computer is already authorized and it skips to the next song. No matter what I do it won't play that song on my laptop or my iPod.

Could be a Corrupt download of that song...

Can't update ADOBE after many attempts. Why won't it work?

Keep getting messages saying I must update ADOBE. Keep following directions for update. Then I'm disallowed access to anything that requires ADOBE update and a red typed message appears again saying I need to update ADOBE. Why won't this work ? I am a senior citizen and am not a computer savvy user. Need help with this ongoing problem.

Are you really still running 10.6.3? If you are you should run the combo update as many issues were resolved within the updates themselves.

AirDrop is not available on an iPad 2 or on an iPhone 4S.
To share content with AirDrop, both users need one of the following devices using iOS 7:
iPhone 5 or later
iPad (4th generation)
