Why won't album artwork show on ipod touch 4g?

My itunes vers 10 is showing all of my cover art.  I have gone thru each track and made sure the artwork is attached to each track however only a fraction of the artwork shows on my ipod touch after syncing.  I have tried to reboot ipod to no avail.  Per other message board posts I have looked for a box to check which reads "Display album artwork on ipod" but I see no such button under Preferences nor on the Music tab when ipod is connected.  Pls advise.  Thx!

I have had this problem since iOS4 and I recently (mostly) resolved it in iOS6.
1. First make sure you do not 'Sign In' into iTunes store.
2. I used playlists to resolve the issue. Create a playlist with one song, preferably one that does not have any album art.
3. Create another playlist with all the songs you want to add.
4. With your iTouch/iPhone attached open iTunes. Go to Device->Music. Under Sync Music:choose "Selected playlists, albums and genres". Choose the one song playlist from those shown. Click on the Sync(Apply) button. This will delete all of the songs.
5. Once the deletion is complete choose the playlist with all the songs. Click on the Apply(Sync)button. This will install all the songs again and with album artwork.
6. Once all the songs have been installed click on all the playlists that you want to add (no new songs) and click on the Sync(Apply) button again.
You should now have your songs with album artwork and playlists installed. Hope this helps. The song in the one song playlist won't have any artwork even if it is included. There were some albums whose artwork were not installed. I had a 95% success rate. As I said, it mostly solves the problem for me.

  • Not all album artwork showing on ipod touch (4th gen)?

A while back, I added some of my own artwork to some songs I downloaded to my library. At some point after that some of the album art disappeared when I was viewing the album list on my ipod (4th gen with iOS 6.1.6), and only then - artwork remained for songs and when looking in the album itself. The missing artwork seems to be at random although albums I recently bought (last few months) still have their artwork. I have restarted my ipod many times since the problem occurred, with no effect.

  • Why won't downloaded artwork transfer to iPod?

    Hi all!
I am having a problem where artwork that I downloaded through iTunes is not transferring to my 80GB iPod. This applies only to artwork that I have downloaded from iTunes. Artwork that I have manually put in transfers and displays just fine. The artwork is showing up in iTunes and when I transfer it to iPod, the artwork is gone. I've already done the basic stuff ('display album art' is checked, the artwork shows up in iTunes when I look at the song info, but not on the iPod), so has anybody else had this problem and solved it? I'm thinking its some lame copyright restriction thing, but I haven't found anything official from Apple pertaining to this.
    Notebook   Windows XP Pro

Hmmm. . . does that include artwork that you downloaded using iTunes for songs that you did not buy on iTunes? That is my specific issue. Songs that I bought on iTunes transfer with the artwork just fine. Its songs that I ripped from a CD that I later added the artwork to using iTunes' 'Download Album Art' feature that I have a problem with. I guess I should have been more clear.

  • Why does the album artwork show in itunes but not on my iphone?

When im in itunes all the artwork shows but when i sync it not all of the artwork comes up on my iphone.

I guess I have successfully solved that. Somehow  predicted this problem's appearance and added a function of ID3 tags version conversion. Just convert all of your mp3 files' tags to version 2.4. worked for me, now bitrate gets downgraded and artwork is safe.
p.s.: some of the artwork (especially files that originally were higher bitrate AAC converted to 128 kbit/s) won't show the artwork in the artist or album list at first. just play any of such songs and artwork will show up.

  • Why won't album artwork import from a CD into Mac iTunes?

I used to have a Windows version of iTunes, and when I imported CDs, the album artwork was automatically added. However, now I'm using Mac iTunes on an iBook, and when I import the very same CDs, no album artwork is added on any of them. I've also noticed that when I transfer the archived songs from the Windows hard drive (via a flash drive) to the Mac iTunes, the artwork is there -- it's just not adding the artwork when I import the CDs directly into Mac iTunes. Is there a setting I'm missing?

Standard Audio CDs don't come with artwork.
Some recent CDs might, but I've never seen them.
I guess there was an iTunes plug-in or similar utility on your PC that searched for artwork and added it.
To add artwork on a Mac there are several scripts (www.dougscript.com) and programs that can find it for you.

  • Best album artwork resolution for iPod touch?

    Hi all
While I'm anxiously awating for my touch to arrive, I've been trying to fill in the missing album art of my music. I'd like to know what's the best resolution to get them displayed on the touch. I don't want to put huge artwork into my iPod so it doesn't take up too much space, but I don't want it to be so small that I can't properly enjoy it.
I really don't care about how the artwork looks like on iTunes, I just care about how it looks like on the touch.
    What do you guys think?
    Cheers
    Daniel

Personally, I find that 500x500px looks great on my 1920x1200 display AND my iPods, including the touch. This way, the album art looks perfect on both.
I find most of my good-quality artwork at Amazon.com of all places. What they don't have (and it is not much), I find by searching in Google and then by clicking on "images" at the top. Narrow it down further by selecting "Medium" or "Large" in the "Images: Showing" drop-down box. FYI, make sure to get a photo that is a perfect square when possible; it is a personal pet-peeve of mine to be flipping through Cover Flow and seeing misshapen album covers...I replace them immediately.

  • Just imported CD... And everything else on my iTunes, without meaning to. But now I can't see the album artwork on my iPod Touch!

So what I was meaning to do is to import a CD that I wanted to have put on my iPod Touch. But I didn't realize that I was also importing all of my songs from my iTunes Library on my computer, which I already have on my iPod. So, after the sync was done, I opened up my music, on my iPod, to see if it had synced successfully. And sure enough, it was there, but almost all of my albums are now artless! It's really helpful for me to see the artwork, so that I know what songs are in that particular album, so it's really important that I have the artwork. My computer is a PC, and when I imported the CD, I used the AAC encoder, and used the iTunes Plus setting. Please help, and thank you!

  • Why won't PC or Itunes recognizes IPOD Touch

    IPOD Touch - 4th Generation
    IOS 5.1
    Windows 7 PC
    capacity 6.4gb
    available 1.6gb
    Everything used to work fine.
My PC will no longer recognize the device.  Neither does Itunes.
I've done everything I've found online:
    - re-installed Itunes
    - re-booted device
I set up WIFI sync.  Shouldn't that at least see it?
I've seen thousands of posts about this online, but have never run across a solution.  I don't think the Apple store could do anything.  Please help.  Thank you.

Thanks very much, but I was already in the process of another solution by the time you replied.
I updated the driver. Here's how I did it.
I right clicked on the usb icon in the bottom right thingamajig (where you click to remove flash drives etc.) When you right click, it shows Open Device and Printers. Click it.
Then it opens a window. Scroll down till you see Apple Mobile Devices USB Driver. Click it.
It the opens something else. On the top of it click Hardware.
Then click Apple Mobile Devices USB Driver in the menu.
It will open a new menu. Click Change Settings.
It will open an identical menu. Click the Driver tab on top.
    Click Update Driver.
Click Search automatically for updated driver software.
It should search and install for a few moments/minutes... and you are done.

I recently tried to use the camera on my iPod touch 5g, but it wouldn't turn around to the face cam. It seemed to be working fine last night and no one has messed with it. I tried restarting it both ways, by turning it off normal, and ,by holding the home and lock button down. Niether of these techniques seemed to work. • Why won't a purchased game on iPod Touch get synced over to iTune library?

Just purchased as a direct download to the iPod Touch the X-Plane 9 game for $9.99. I was under the assumption that the next time the Touch is synced to my main computer via iTunes that the app would be copied over as a safety backup? Is this not the case? Or might I be doing something wrong? And if it did get copied over to my iTunes library on my main computer, where might I find it?
    Thanks, John

    Dear John,
I have a couple questions for you.
Do you still have the game on your iPod? I would assume that it is also not listed in iTunes. If this is the case, go to the app store on your computer and re-download that app. You will not be charged for the download if you already purchased it. If you still have questions - call 1800MYAPPLE.

  • Why won't some apps on my ipod touch sync to itunes 11 on my computer?

I'm backing up some apps I have onto itunes on my computer, but like 3 apps I have paid for aren't syncing, and I don't know why.

    - You do not have the apps checked to syn.
    - The apps are not compatible with your model iPod and its iOS
    - You have restrictions set that prevent syncing those app. Settings>General>Restrictions
