Why won't Apple online accept my canadian credit card when shopping online in the USA? Every other major USA company accepts my CDN card online in the USA???

Because you cannot use a credit card issued in another country.  This is how the system works.  Sorry
I don't think Apple is striving to be just like every other company.

Why won't Apple TV accept my AppleID password?

Same here. When I want to sign in to iCloud I enter my password as requested which then takes me to the Apple Terms & Condition screen, so I hit the agree button, then it says connecting but then takes me back to the Terms & Condition page. It keeps repeating the same thing every time I hit the Agree button.

  • Why won't Skype let me update my credit card infor...

The credit card I signed up to Skype with recently expired and I now have a new one. For every single one of my subscriptions, I have been able to update the credit card information without a single interruption.
And yet, despite having had complaints about this issue going back years, Skype remains the only xxxxxxxxxxxx service on the face of the planet that requires you to cancel your subscription in order to enter in a new credit card.
Do the people who run this service live under the impression that credit cards are eternal items without expiration dates? Why should I have to go through the annoyance of cancelling my Skype number, subscribing to a new one with my updated credit card, and then go through the process of informing all my friends and family that my Skype number has been changed? Why can't Skype simply allow me to update my credit card information?
The fact that this problem even exists is inexcusable. I'd expect this xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx from a small website based in a third-world country, not a global enterprise owned by one of the biggest corporations on the face of the xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx planet.

I have a related problem. The bank recently sent me a new credit card with a different number. So I needed to update my Skype account. But geez, this is an infuriating and hopeless pursuit!  The problem in my situation actually lies with the "Verified-by-Visa" process that Skype has outsourced to CA Technologies. The Vierified-by-Visa validation process fails on the Skype site, though it is successful with other vendors. I have verified with my bank that the card and account are fine. The Verified-by-Visa configuration is correct and tested. So it's Skype/Microsoft that have the problem.
But the comical and sad state is that the support process at Skype is idiotic and circular. With each communication, the Skype representative directs me to begin the support conversation all over again, as if it was my first contact with the the support group. They refuse to read any communications or details that I send, even though the detail is technically useful. As well,  with each communication (email), the original thread of conversation is deleted.
I suspect that there are no real people working in the Skype support organization, just automated robots. If I'm wrong about this, and there are live people somewhere, lookup this ticket number, and get in touch with me:  SRX1278630595ID.
I suppose I will just wait for the credit card charge attempt to fail, and let my subscription lapse. I'll just use other services instead.

  • Why do i need to give them my credit card when i just want to redeem a gift card

I have itunes set up on our home computer. We got a iTunes gift card, so we tried to buy an album  I entered the verification code on the back of the card. the top righthand side of the screen successfully registered the $15. Then when I went to buy an album, it wouldn't let me unless I entered credit card information. Why does it demand my credit card when I am not paying by credit card? When you buy something at a store with cash or a gift card, they don't demand your credit card.

  • Why am I not able to use my credit card when everything is correct on my banks end but Apple is saying it isn't?

Hello, I was wondering if anyone can tell me why my credit card keeps saying billing information does not match the bank's records? I know everything is correct and I've talked to my bank. Is there anything I could do or should try?  I know this is a problem on Apple's end since my bank is perfectly fine. I would really like to buy new music but also I've had problems lately with Apple and my iPod (it won't sync). Thank you to anyone who can help me.

No, you don't have to pay, and it is email support, you fill out a form,
With my expericence, they send you an email asking questions, you answer it. Next day they send you an email with instructions that do not work and are out of date. (please tell me where I can set none for my paymet options). Then they send you more instructions that don't work. I have just tried the third set of instructions and they did not work.

  • Apple only accept debit or credit card for iphone purchase

Apple Inc. no longer accepts cash for iPhone purchases and now limits sales of the cell phone to two per person in a move to stop people from reselling them.
The new policy started Thursday, said Apple spokeswoman Natalie Kerris. Before then, there was no cash restriction and the purchase limit was five per person.
How can I buy an iphone i do not have a debit or credit card is that even legal not to accpet cash as i recall you must accept cash for any payments under $ 9,999.99
im wondering is that legal since everybody doesnt have debit or credit cards and that would be discriminating customers

Apple can invoke any policy they want for accepting tender for the purchase of the iPhone or any other product.
It would be interesting if you or I went up to the counter and wanted to buy a Mac and they did accept cash in lieu of a debit or credit card. I believe that would be a "double standard".
Having said that, the real issue I believe and what I read in the information released by Apple in their quarterly report last week is the unlocking of iPhones.
It appears that there has been the development of a "cottage industry" in the business of unlocking the iPhone to the point where the President of Apple (not Steve Jobs) stated that they, Apple, believe that there are at least 250,000 iPhones that have not been activated through AT&T to date, i.e., through September 30, 2007.
How the taking restricting of cash transactions for the iPhone will reduce the unlocking issue is beyond my comprehension. I could buy a number of iPhones two at a time with my debit card and/or my debit card by just showing up at a store a number of times. Just in my area alone, northern Virginia, there are 4 Apple Stores within 1.5 hours of my home.
I have 5 credit cards and 2 debit cards. I could buy 14 iPhones without ever violating the new Apple policy. I guess I could also write a check off of my 3 checking accounts - that would permit me to buy 6 additional iPhones.
Is Apple going to hold credit card or debit receipts to compare how many times an individual purchased an iPhone.
If so, isn't that a potential security problem with regard to having that data around for other than electronic transfer purposes?
There has to be some misunderstanding of the policy if in fact there is such a policy.

  • HT204266 Why App Store is not accepting my new credit card billing address?

When trying to buy at the App Store it keeps saying "Your cedit card information does not matchc your bank's records.  Please enter a U.S. credit card and matching billing address."   This credit card is not the original I had saved in the system -- it's new, but the billing address is a PO box.  If I change it to my residential address I get the same message.

Is your VISA account associated with the same country where you reside? If not, that's why it was declined.

  • HT201303 Why do I have to put in a credit card when I redeemed an iTunes gift card?I

itunes says the card was redeemed and it still asked for a credit card or address when I want to use the gift card.

Is it an account that you've just created ? If it is, then unless the instructions on this page are followed when creating an account : http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT2534
then credit card details will need to be entered before the account can be used to download any item from the store - you should be able to remove your card after entering it, it won't be charged (apart from a temporary store holding charge which your card issuer will remove within a few days or so) if your balance covers the purchase (you can't use your balance for gifting). Credit card details may also be requested if you change countries so as to confirm that you are able to purchase from your new country (e.g. that you have a billing address in that country).
If you are being prompted to review then you could see if this post by mountaingoatgirl lets you do so without needing to enter credit card details : https://discussions.apple.com/message/24303054#24303054

  • Why won't my nano accept alac or wav files when I try to transfer them from my itunes library?

I've ripped my cd collection into itunes in either alac or wav format. Now when I try to add some of these music files to my ipod nano 3rd. gen., they always transfer to the ipod as a aac file. I know that I have to go to preferences and adjust the settings in the pop ups to whichever format I want to make the music files in, and I've done all of this. I'm not sure if I'm missing something here, or if my computer or my 2 ipods are broken somehow. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Check that you don't have this setting checked in the Summary section of iTunes for your iPod:
Otherwise you should be OK - AFAIK all iPod nano models support WAV and Apple Lossless, and a quick test with a 7g nano suggests that syncing a WAV file creates a WAV file on the iPod.  If you're seeing something different then some deeper digging may be required ...

  • Why won't Apple show in my Common files?

Why won't Apple show up in my common files when I try to update my Iphone

I assume Canon 70D came after Lr4 was no longer being fitted with new camera support (i.e. when Lr5 was released).
(feel free to double-check that assumption - if wrong, then forget the rest of this post..).
    Remedies:
    * upgrade to Lr5, or
    * convert to DNG (using free Adobe Converter).

  • The App store stopped accepting my credit card all of a sudden. It says that my credit card is "not supported by the Chilean app store"... The credit card is Chilean and was working just fine. Help!

This is the second time this happens. I was living in the US until April 2011. I moved to Chile and kept using the App Store and the iTunes Store just fine with my US-issued credit card. However, when I accessed my Apple ID from a different device, the store stopped recognizing my credit card information and migrated my ID to the "Chilean" App & Itunes Store (significantly less apps & music... but anyway). I started using my Chilean credit card on the App and iTunes store with no issues. I supposed that the devices catched that I was no longer in the US and that I had to be transferred to the related store (which I think is fine), and that because I was now in the Chilean store I needed to use a Chilean-issued credit card (which doesn't make sense to me, I still don't understand why Apple stopped accepting my US credit card if it is accepted everywhere else in the world online and offline!).
However, yesterday I bought something from my iPad and when today I went to use the app store from my iPhone the SAME THING happened. I got the same request to "update my billing information", I confirmed my Chilean credit card info and, surprise! "Your credit card is not supported by the Chilean app store"...
I don't get it. If I didn't get it the first time, I ended up accepting it an getting over it because ok, I moved to another country and my account was migrated, etc. But now, it doesn't recognize my local credit card in my local store! I tried both my local Visa and my local MasterCard, and none of them worked. It looks like my account will not accept ANY credit card, no matter wheter I try to update the info from my mobile devices, on iTunes, on the Mac App Store, etc.
It has been impossible for me to find any information on what causes this and on how to solve it, and so far I hadn't had any trouble with Apple and hadn't need any support before, but now that I need URGENT SUPPORT, I've come to realize that THEY SUCK at being accessible! There's no way I can contact them! So, please help me!!!!! I need urgent help!!!!
Thanks and sorry for the very long post.

Same thing happened to me with my peruvian credit card in the peruvian app store, I want to buy an app, but it says that my credit card is "not supported in the Peruvian app store"

  • Why won't Apple accept debit cards?  I ordered 2 new iPhones at ATT on Monday using my debit card.  I was just notified by ATT that Apple wont accept debit cards so my order cannot go through.  I don't use credit cards so I don't carry debt!

Why won't Apple accept debit cards to buy an iPhone 5?  I ordered 2 new iPhones at ATT on Monday using my debit card.  I was just notified by ATT that Apple wont accept debit cards so my order cannot go through.  I don't use credit cards so I don't carry debt!  They (ATT) re-emphasized this is not their policy, but Apple's and that I would have the same problem if I went to Verizon.  Is this really the policy and if so why?  Apple has no problems accepting debit cards for my iTunes account?!

I think this is an AT&T thing not an Apple policy, I had this battle with them before when the 4s came out.So this time I went directly to the Apple stor, I had no problem pre-ordering my Iphone5 on the 14th with my debit card, already shipped will be here the 21st. I'd go straight to the Apple store and purchase them there...
