Why won't battery insert properly?

I removed the MacBook 13 battery to clean the screen and keys (it was asleep and not shut down!).
Trying to reinsert the battery it won't latch properly. The latch is very difficult to turn and the battery is not fully flush with the case on the latch side. Was not that way when I removed it. There is a post on the latch side of the computer and a spring on the latch side of the battery. Both seems to be OK. Computer appears to be functioning OK.
Driving me crazy trying to figure out what happened.

Let me answer my own question.
Apparently the latch side of the battery has undergone swelling. This is mentioned as "expanding" in some posts on the forum. Must have been held in under pressure and then popped when I took it out to clean my keyboard etc.
I will dig deeper to find out what should or can be done about this in the forums but anyone with an idea please speak up!

    Go step by step and test.
    1. System Preferences > Other/ Flash Player > Advanced >  Delete  All
         Press the "Delete All" button
         Install Adobe Flash Player.

        Follow the prompts.
        Quit Safari.
        Restart computer. Relaunch Safari.
    2.  Enable Plug-ins
        Safari > Preferences > Security
        Internet Plug-ins >  "Allow  plug-ins"
        Enable it.
        Press " Manage Website Settings" button for more options.

  • Why won't using 'Insert' work the same way on the Photos page?

    Because my images I edited in Photoshop don't appear in my iphoto Library or in the 'media' section (I have no idea why!!), I have to go to the toolbar at top, and use "Insert....Choose....pictures....etc" and insert the pics that way. But it won't insert into the photo grid and you can't add frames, and you can't click on it to enlarge. I guess I don't understand why you can 'drag' the pix in from the media section and it works fine, but when you manually insert the pics, it's just a plain pic, nothing else.
    Is there anything I can do?

    Rather than use Insert, try dragging your edited images from their location on your HD into the photo grid.

    Taken at face value, you're having trouble with an Apple Application Support program file there. (Apple Application Support is where single copies of program files used by multiple different Apple programs are kept.)
    Let's try something relatively simple first. Restart the PC. Now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "Apple Application Support" and then click "Repair".
    Does iTunes launch properly now?
    If no joy after that, try the more rigorous uninstall/reinstall procedure from the following post:

    When I compose an e-mail in Mail, often the window won't display the top row of tabs (send, attachment, etc.).  I can see the tip of each graphic, but it's almost like they've been cropped out.  Does anyone know what might be causing this and how to correct it?  Thanks in advance.

    Try going to the mail menu, view click on hide toolbar, and clicking show toolbar (or visa versa) depending what shows. I haven't used this os in a long time, so I'm not sure how it is set up anymore.

    After using the new Firefox 4 for just a few days, I've noticed that my Add-on Bar items (mail notifier and weather bar) are jutted down below the actual visible display area they should be, so I can see half of the icons. This is not a priority issue, but it is still an issue, and it bothers me. I've already tried uninstalling then reinstalling Firefox 4, I've already tried removing then reinstalling the add-ons themselves, and I've also tried just hiding then showing the Add-on Bar but still nothing is changed. This problem only occurs when I use themes for Firefox 4 other than the default theme. The attached photo is a screenshot of my Add-on Bar so you hopefully won't think I'm crazy.

    I've figured this out. Apparently, there is a graphical bug in FF4 when the "Show: Icons and Text" option under customizing the toolbar is enabled, and the Downloads icon is in the Add-on Bar, the Downloads icon remains centered, but the other items in the Add-on Bar are pushed under the display area of the Add-on Bar. If the setting is reverted back to just icons or just text shown, or if the Downloads icon is removed from the Add-on Bar, this is fixed. A simple line of code could fix this coincidental error, but as I said before, it's not a priority issue. As always, I can just click Ctrl+J to show my current downloads. I just tried to have this icon in the newly named Add-on Bar to replicate my old-fashioned Firefox 3.6 interface, but I guess that's unreasonable for Mozilla...

    Why won't Firefox close properly? When I close the program and then try and restart it, I get an error message which says "Firefox is already open....." I then have to go into the Task Manager to close it down.
    How can I fix this problem?

    That's exactly what's happening with me as well. Evidently a recent iTunes update caused the problem, which is with version 11.0.2.26. Since I asked my question I found a thread on the same topic that is six pages and started last December. Apparently Apple became aware of the problem initially, sent an update that fixed it, then updated again recently without the fix. Maybe they'll get around to fixing it again soon.     Likely either the batch of media is defective, or the drive itself is not working.
    Swap for different media; for a different batch from a different vendor, and also try +R media. 
    The slot-loading drives on various Mac systems can and variously do fail.  If different media doesn't work, then you probably have a failed drive. 
    If your Mac is of same the vintage as OS X v10.4 that's listed in your footer and you're not in a position to replace or repair the optical drive in your Mac, then you might consider using an external USB CD/DVD device.  If you don't have another Mac around to perform the recording on, that is.

    However, as deggie sad it is not accurate on the iPod. Also, some users have reported increased battery drain.

    Why won't my secure thumb drive (FAT32) work with os lion?  I have used it ok with older mac operating systems.  When the thumb drive is inserted in the usb port, an error message appears stating that the disk was not ejected properly.  It shows as readonly in Finder.  When I try to eject it, the spinning wheel appears and I have to relaunch finder.
