Why won't Bridge CS6 launch?

I've just installed Photoshop CS6 (64bit). I cannot launch Adobe Bridge - I get the message "Waiting for Bridge CS6....." and it won't progress beyond this point. Has anyone got any idea what I can do? I've rebooted the PC, but still the same.

Thanks for the tip. I got very excited thinking I'd got the solution at last - I went through all the steps as you detailed, then opened PS, tried to launch Bridge ..... and it hadn't worked for me . But I'm going to go through the other solutions provided in the link you gave me, so hopefully one of them will work.
Incidentally, like you, I just renamed the switchboard folder (to 'NoSwitchboard') rather than deleting it as advised by Adobe. Maybe I'll take the plunge and delete it.... After all, I can always uninstall everything and reinstall to restore it if it goes disastrously wrong...... can't I?
OK, Update: I found that although I'd renamed the Switchboard folder to NoSwitchboard, what had happened was that it created a NEW folder with that name, retaining the original Switchboard folder too. So I deleted the original Switchboard folder..... but it still didn't work . I also went to the path: C:\ProgramFiles(x86)\CommonFiles\Adobe\Switchboard\Switchboard.exe and changed that folder. What happened then was when I tried to launch Bridge I got a message saying "Cannot launch Bridge because the extension file is missing" (or something like that). So I changed that back. Hmmm.

something to do with the task thing in your computer to get the app thing working and then syncing it to your ipod. I cant remember what it was you had to do with the task thing in the control panel. but hope that somewhat helps.

Bridge CS6 Launch Error

Will try this once more: Am on IMAC OS10.7.3 Have Photoshop CS5. All updates are current with both companys. I have down loaded and uninstalled CS6 three times, Have used Apple time machine to restore all settings to a day before initial down load. Have checked file associations with CS6/CS5 and all seems to be ok. Out of OS "Applications" PSCS6 opens no problems. Adobe trial window opens ok. Bridge CS6 will not open, out of OS Application, Out of mini Bridge, Out of anything! Bridge CS5 does open out of OS Applications and weirdly enough works fine with PS CS6. I just have to keep toggling back and forth between CS5 (Bridge) and CS6 (PS). Any help would be appreciated. If I purchase program this I do not want to go through this all over again.

Why can PS/Bridge CS6 no longer read RAW Metadata after update?

There was an update today and now all my .xmp files are being erased from my associated Canon 1DX RAW Images. Either the new update is deleting these files or can't read the associated metadata of the RAWs. I shoot RAW and JPEG and I do see that the info is still associated with the JPEGs.
Also - I cannot write or modify the RAW info to assign copyright, keywords, etc.
I am on a Mac Pro running OS X 10.9.2

Do you have disk cleaner tools like MacKeeper/CleanMyMac installed?

Why won't photoshop CS6 download camera raw 8.2?

I am running Lightroom 5 and Photoshop CS6. I have been getting the error message that I need the camera raw plug-in 8.2 to run CS6 (Canon Eos 5D Mk III). I cannot open raw files directly into Photoshop, and Lightroom is not working to edit file in Photoshop as I have started loading all my photos onto a NAS (which seems now to have been a total waste of time). I hope to get a better Thunderbolt system in the next few months but this was a short term solution to the number of external drives that I had accumulated.
Back to the problem- the plug-in does not appear when I run updates in CS6, yet I need the plug-in, and I cannot seem to find somewhere to download it independently. This is very frustrating with many files to process. I have just updated to Mavericks as the desktop could not run LR5 (ughhh) this has been a trial.
Any help would be appreciated.

I have been using Lightroom since it was first created. I am a very experienced Lightroom user, and I just updated to version 5 with my new Canon Eos 5D Mk II (I have used every 5 series camera too).
THERE IS NO LINK AVAILABLE FOR THIS AND THAT IS THE PROBLEM. CS6 SAYS IT IS UP TO DATE, LIGHTROOM SAYS IT IS NOT.
LIGHTROOM SAYS THAT I NEED THAT FILE. I HAVE BEEN SELECTING ‘IGNORE’ OR RENDER WITH LIGHTROOM ADJUSTMENTS DEPENDING ON THE COMPUTER THAT I AM ON.
What I don’t understand is why is lightroom saying that i need the plug-in for my camera, CS6 says my software is up to date, and mostly THERE IS NO PLACE WHERE I CAN SIMPLY DOWNLOAD THE PLUG-IN TO FIX THE PROBLEM.
I am mostly annoyed about the last part- there is no place to simply download the plugin- hence I am writing here, and from what I have read online I am not the only person with this complaint. When I get a moment I will try the link to download it, but as I mentioned, why is it not available as there is obviously a glitch here.
Obviously I am a very frustrated user because the software is not updating and your site does not have the download available so the problem can be simply fixed. I find it a little offensive that you would suggest that I have the problem, and that I don’t know how to use the software, when I am pointing out clearly that there is a software issue here. And trust me, i understand the difference in the options but the fact the plugin does not show up as an update in CS6 (where you say it will be and how it should be installed), is the real issue.

Yes, I'm slow, but it has taken me several months to figure out how to create clothing with lace digitally. I had the big ah hah. I was up all night. It is 6.00am. The creative juices were flowing and then guess what?

Why won't my iTunes launch anymore?

My iTunes was working great less than a week ago. The last thing I remember doing before it stopped working is updating to the most recent version (10.4). I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, disabling Bonjour from the startup, deleting the iTunes config. files, and even Running as an Admin. Nothing seems to work. I've tried looking on Apple's site for a place to download an older version (since I obvioulsy can't restore from within iTunes as it won't launch) but can't find anything at all. I've got 2 other Windows 7 systems in the house and they seem to be working just fine. Please help! Thanks.

Got it sorted! I managed to find a download for iTunes 10.3 and installed it. When I tried to open it, it wouldn't allow me to because my library file had been created be a new version of iTunes. When I then installed 10.4 on top of 10.3, everything worked. So good luck to anyone else having the same issue.

Why doesn't AI CS6 launch on a new 10.9.4 Macbook?

Just transferred my whole system into a new macbook pro. After I entered the serial number again, the other applications in the CS design standard suite launch and work (Photoshop and Indesign) BUT, Illustrator won't even start to launch from the dock or clicking in the application folder. I uninstalled and reinstalled Illustrator with no effect. What should I try?

Why won't Photoshop CS6/CC save my preferences?

Each time I open Photoshop, I load an image and use my scroll wheel to zoom and I have to go back and re-do my preferences. No preferences are ever saved. Anyone have a solution?

Have you set your preferences, then gracefully Quit the application?
If in doing so, the preferences are lost next time you open it, that kind of implies Photoshop isn't able to write data to its own preference files, which in turn implies a permissions issue. I've often seen people advise "fixing permissions" or even creating a new user account on the system to deal with that.
I'm not sure why you mention using your scroll wheel to zoom, but know that the zoom level is not saved as a preference.

Why won't Illustrator CS6 open in OSX 10.9 while Indesign and Photoshop will?

I just purchase an iMac with OSX 10.9.4 and haven't installed Yosemite fearing software incompatibility with my existing CS6 Design and Web premium bundle. Acrobat, Indesign and Photoshop all open up and operate fine but Illustrator will not open. I have little other 3rd party ssoftware installed so far, only Billings and Olympus software. Any ideas? Don't want the $50 per month solution either. You know what that is.

Solution!!! I didn't notice an error message beneath the numerous open windows on my desktop. It said, "you need to install Java (something-something) in order to use Illustrator, would you like to install it?" Obviously, I did and the moment the download and installation was complete, Illustrator opened itself, probably as a leftover command.

I just got a new computer with windows 8.1 (yay...) and I have tried to download my previous purchases of Adobe Suite (CS6) and it is not working. It keeps coming up sfter downloading for hours as separate zip files. any suggestions? thanks!

I had Photoshop open, and it was fine. I tried to open InDesign, and got just Welcome to Adobe Creative Cloud......
But I have CS6, I read the license and it is supposed to keep working even after any deadline for upgrading to CC. I don't know if this is a coincidence or not.
I have work to do this weekend!! This is not good.
Added info:
Everything was working fine yesterday, I have not installed anything new.
Mac Pro, Mt Lion.
It just lost my serial number. This web site had all my info, but my desktop software did not.
