Why won't Firefox block pop-ups even though configured to do so?

I have the browser set up to block pop-ups. It blocks the pop-ups from my bank even though I have repeatedly made that page "allowed" but allows subscription pop-ups on dozens of pages. Nearly all of these sub pop-ups force me to close them to see the page it hides. How can I actually block those annoying actions?

Hello,
I'm a website designer using ff 3.6.13 on XP sp3 platform. FF is very temperamental with pop-ups so I shut off Pop-up blocker. Regardless of blocker being off, pop-ups are still blocked on a site I'm working on. Until recently, these Pop-up links used to work well in FF. They still work great in Chrome and IE.
My Firewall program does not have pop-up blocker:

We are still getting pop-ups even though we have the pop up blocker enabled via tools

pop ups continue - enabler is enabled through options. we just got a
warning "to display this page, firefox must send information that will repeat any action ( such as search or order confirmation) that was performed earlier."

Why won't my iphone 3gs charge even though it is plugged in?

Hi guys, so I've had my 3gs for nearly 2 years. A couple of weeks ago I noticed that charging it wasn't going easy. When my iphone shuts down from no battery life and I plug it in to charge, it charges enough to turn itself back on, but when it eventually turns back on it won't charge anymore? Even though it is still plugged in and switched on by the plug. So I have to take out the USB, turn off the switch to the plug, turn the switch back on, plug the USB back in and it charges again.
BUT, recently not even that does it. I've tried different plug sockets, i've rebooted it. I've tried leaving the USB cable in and just turning on and off the plug switch.
So at the moment it's just going through a circle of running out of battery, charging and turning itself back on, having 4% battery and dying again and repeating.
So I googled my problem and didn't really find a solution. I mean the plug and USB cable are fine. Clearly it charges fine because it charges enough to turn itself back on when it's shut down.
I found out that when the iphone is plugged in but turned off it still charges so I tried this when it started itself up again, and it charges!!
But why won't it charge when the phone is on and plugged in??

If your iPhone will not start up unless connected to power, you may want to troubleshoot using the steps in this article -

Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIs and corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.

Cannot block pop ups, even when block is checked

Why has my Firefox become so slow, even though I don't have any add-ons?

The settings tell me that I don't even have any add-ons installed. But FIrefox is still very slow, especially on those bigger sites.
Resetting Firefox doesn't help either..

It's "highly unlikely" this is the source of your browser slowdown. Oracle likes to "bundle" this plugin with Java SE for unknown reasons. Mozilla still considers Java DT to be vulnerable, and has considered it to be vulnerable for a long time...that's why you see this message (and probably will continue seeing it, unless you delete the plugin.) You can delete this plugin from the list of firefox plugins, but it will probably come back when you update Java. Sounds like you could benefit from disabling all Java content in the browser. How that is accomplished is explained in the above thread.

Windows 7, Firefox browser not blocking pop ups

I bought a new computer with Windows 7. I downloaded Firefox, which I had on my previous computer with no problems. Even though I have it set to block pop ups, I still get pop ups several times a day.

FIREFOX DOESNOT SUPPORT BLOCK POP UPS

firefox is not the best browser in case of blocking pop ups may i know what is the reaseon, whereas the opera & IE are good pop up blockers. I found difficulty only in this case all other features are very extra ordinary in firefox.

Exceptions for blocking pop-ups

Hi
Firefox has the ability to include exceptions for blocking pop=ups but Safari does not have this ability. This is useful for a few sites that I visit regularly.
Is there a plug-in that provides this ability?

Same here. This "all-or-none" approach is really inadequate, even if you can toggle it on and off with command-K. It's annoying to have to keep changing it all the time.

If you are receiving popups, it is possible that this is being caused by an extension that you have installed on Firefox.

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.

To Reset Firefox do the following:
#Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
#Click the "Reset Firefox" button.

Thank you for your detailed question. It sounds like the real issue is pdf files. Are there any antivirus/firewalls that might be blocking this specific file type? or are there any preferences in your control panel that might be blocking this?
Do you have any stored preferences for PDF files in Firefox?
