Why won't firefox open another tab. I click it and nothing happens.

If I click a link, it will open a new tab fine on it's own, but if I click the new tab, nothing happens.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Apple made some sort of programming change on 12.26.12 to their iTunes system that suddenly made the Buy button non-functional specifically in the directly-out-of-the-box Snow Leopard (10.6.3). [I had Leopard, same as you, 10.5.8, and that was still working then. I installed Snow Leopard a couple of days ago to my MacBook, and discovered the Buy Button didn't work.
First step: Pull down "Software Update" from the Apple menu (that annoying thing we always ignore.) If you're using Snow Leopard 10.6.3, it'll upgrade you for free to 10.6.8, and that should solve your iTunes problem. (I don't know if there are any upgrades for 10.5.8, but unlike the other ungodly system upgrades, Snow Leopard is only $20. Because Apple is growing increasingly stupid, you can't buy it online--you have to call customer care.)

Why can't I open another tab in the current window anymore?

I have not had an issue with this problem until today. I have had my laptop since May 2010 and I have been using firefox the whole time. Today, my roommate used my computer, but used internet explorer. Since then, I have not been able to open another tab on the current page.

Perfect solution. The resolution was not letting me get past the user agreement and into the iPod settings.

Why won't Firefox open?!

Winglass XP is not letting me open Firefox. I click on it but nothing is actually popping up. I even used the Run command and nothing happens. It always closes whenever I try to open it. Please help!

You may be having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not coming from one of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] and select ''Disable all add-ons''. If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. I run Windows 7 Pro. Up until the latest auto update I could clcik the plus sign on the tab and open new tabs. Won't work now. Please advise.

Why won't firefox open a hot link in a new tab? I have selected the setting that is supposed to do this, but Firefox insists upon opening a new window, every time! It's annoying as hell.

OK...ummmm, I'm running Mac OS10.4.11 (not so sure about the last two digits, but you get the idea). I installed the latest Firefox update maybe a week ago... my monitor crapped out yesterday, so I replaced it with a bigger one that I had lying around. I have used this monitor with this machine before, and had no problems with getting Firefox to open links that I clicked on in a new tab. As per your Help site, I checked the monitor's 'size' and it was as always. I even reduced the 'size' of the monitor, but no joy.

Why won't Firefox open an site in a new tab when clicked on in Google?

When I was in Google and would click on a site to open, it would open in the tab I was on rather than opening in a new tab. It used to do so.
So if I go to the site and it's not the one that answers my question, rather than clicking on the back button, I have to go back and click on my Google Bookmark.
It's annoying because everytime you open Google, you get a different set of sites to access.
Today, the word I was Googling was kfeeders.

I was on the Google page, and put in the item I was searching for, clicked search and got a page or many pages of potential sites that would fit my query. But if I clicked on one of the sites, I couldn't click back to the Google page, the back arrow was gray. It doesn't happen all the time, only occasionally. Guess it's just a problem with some sites.

Firefox opens multiple tabs while clicking on "Manage account" under File- Account in Office 2013 opens the right Tab and another random URL-Tab

I have office 365 installed. When I click on Manage Account under File->Accounts in office 2013, it opens 2 Tabs in Firefox.

I scanned with all of the above scanners. (Thank you for the links!)
I also scanned my system with Adaware, Super Antispyware, Norton Internet Security 2013, and Norton Power Eraser . . . and Kapersky v14 on the Windows 8 system)
NONE of the scanners reported anything other than the usual trackers.
Firefox was un-installed, re-installed, reverted back 4 versions ''and'' v3. Chrome shows the same result.
The Windows 8 system was wiped and restored. Office 365 was immediately re-installed and showed the SAME behavior except that the "random" 3-character URL was different . . .
. . . This extra Tab ''only'' shows up when I open any Office 2013 product to a New document or worksheet go to File>Account>Manage Account.

Check that you do not run Firefox as Administrator.
Right-click the Firefox desktop shortcut and choose "Properties".
In the Compatibility tab, make sure that Privilege Level: "Run this program as Administrator" is not selected.
You also need to check the Properties of the firefox.exe program in the Firefox program directory.

Why won't Firefox open links or videos when launched?

Am using Windows 8. Installed Firefox, but am unable to get a response when I click on a link or try to launch a video. Works fine on my desktop, but not on my new laptop. Why won't iTunes open? It's been deleted and redownloaded seven times now!

I used to have my iTunes on a mac and it worked just fine.. but I had to switch everything over to my computer, which is a pc... so I had to re-format my nano. That, as you know, deleted all of my songs. I downloaded iTunes 7.. it wouldn't open... I deleted it and tried the process again. Nothing happened. I did it about seven more times. Nothing. So now, I have a nano with no songs... and a computer that won't open iTunes. I have Windows XP. I see no reason for this. It's driving me insane. I'm ready to throw it all out the window. PLEASE HELP ME... I WILL DO ANYTHING!!!!!!

I have tried deleting programs to create more space on my hard drive, thinking that was the problem, but no success. I notice when I try to launch itunes my CPU usage goes to 100%, drops to 4% and then the application stops trying to launch and the hour glass goes away. I tried reinstalling my original software (iTunes 4,I think), and it worked ok, but I was not allowed to use the music store unless I upgraded to iTunes 7. As soon as I did that, it started all over again with the iTunes application not starting. I do not get any type of error at all. I get nothing, just like you!!!
Does anyone know how to fix this?

It is possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
Delete the files sessionstore.js [2] and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

If you see files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js then delete those as well. 
Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).
