Why won't Firefox stay installed?
When I log into Firefox, it keeps telling me I'm not on the most current version. I download it, install it, and when I come back to it after an IE session, it's gone.
Also, it is not staying "stuck" even though I've tried to make it my default browser.

Your user agent string is wrong, probably due to some ask tool bar that has been installed with or without your knowledge.
It reads

What version of firefox are you using is it the current version, Firefox 6? to check click on :
* Help -> About Firefox
You will need to disable or uninstall that software to solve the problem. You may be able to do that from the Firefox add-ons manager, but you may need to go into [[safe mode]] or you may need to identify and uninstall the software from the OS (Windows XP -> Start -> Control Panel -> uninstall software)

Thanks.These are all steps that have worked for some other users in the past. They may not work for you, but they are worth a try.
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.
You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your app preferences and device settings again. -

Note, in event you were interested in Lion, that Mac is not compatible with Lion unless you misidentified it. Only MacBooks with machine ID 2,1 or later can upgrade to Lion (1,1 and 1,2 are earlier). The Machine ID is in Apple menu -> About This Mac -> More Info. -
Why won't firefox search when I type anything into the search bar? It lists everything I've typed in before but when you click search it just sits there doing nothing. If I use the search bar in the top right corner it searches just fine, but nothing from the central search line.
Also what is the line below this for? if I mouse over it I get a pointy finger, but it is blank and remains blank.If you can't clear that saved form and search history then there may be nothing to clear.
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

Why won't Firefox close properly? When I close the program and then try and restart it, I get an error message which says "Firefox is already open....." I then have to go into the Task Manager to close it down.

I found out it was my keyboard's software. If you have a different keyboard it may still be the cause.
This worked for me nicely. I can close itunes whenever I want now. -

What is your Aperture version? And where is your Aperture library located?
Are you syncing your library in any way? With Facebook, Flickr, Photo Streams?
Where did you delete the photos from? from an album, web album, project? Did you empty the Aperture trash and the trash on your desktop? -

Why won't Firefox download? It completed the set up stage then stops.
If downloads hang at the last minute (just before reaching 100%), the cause might be antivirus software which tries to scan the file and during that process hangs the Firefox instance.
In order to fix the problem, try disabling the scanning as follows:

Why won't Firefox automatically show new Hotmail emails or easily down load attachments when it was working a week ago?
Hotmail has been having a few hiccups lately I'm afraid.
If you don't see any emails when you log in, or nothing appears after some time, click in the middle of the grey bar on the left which has the word "'''Inbox'''" in it. This usually causes them to magically appear for some strange reason.
I've read on on a few blogs that Microsoft is working on the problem, but don't hold your breath.<br><br>

Thank you for your detailed question. It sounds like the real issue is pdf files. Are there any antivirus/firewalls that might be blocking this specific file type? or are there any preferences in your control panel that might be blocking this?

I run a computer with windows 7. I cannot get firefox to install. It keeps stopping at 98% and saying it is corrupt.
It is possible that anti-virus software is interfering with downloading and installing.
In case you are using the small stub installer from the Mozilla site then you can use the full installer.
You can find the full version of the latest Firefox 26.0 release in all languages and for all Operating Systems here:

You may have to disable your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes installing work.
