Why won't iphoto book upload?
The upload will not complete and I get a failure message. I have cancelled and retried several times, to no avail.
Boot into Safe Mode, Mac OS X: Starting up in Safe Mode, and preview the book as described in this apple document: iPhoto, Aperture: Previewing an order in iPhoto or Aperture.
Check the PDF file for any errors before ordering the book from the Safe Mode. Keep the pdf file to compare to the printed copy when you receive it.

Why won't my books upload to my iPad ...just to the cloud
My books will not upload to my iPad only to my cloud storage.
Upload from where? And how do you know that they are "uploading" to your cloud storage? How do you define "upload? What does that actually mean?

Why won't iPhoto 11 in Mavericks open or create books, cards, etc?
Why won't iPhoto 11 in Mavericks open or create books, cards, etc? I can't open existing projects or create new ones. Nothing happens when I try to open a project: alsop, nothing happens when I click 'Create' when trying a make a card, book, etc. All very frustrating.
As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?
Post back with the result. -
Why won't my imatch upload cds I downloaded onto my iphone?
why won't my imatch upload cds I downloaded onto both my computers onto my iphone?
I'm not entirely understanding your question. Are you asking why iTunes Match doesn't scan, match and upload content from an iOS device? If so, it is because the service does not work that way. The service only scans an iTunes library and for music to be available in the cloud it must be in the iTunes library.
Music ripped from CDs is scanned, matched and uploaded as long as the tracks meet the minimum requirements. -

why won't iPhoto download after i have bought it from the app store and installed mavericks?
Sorry no mind readers here so you have to tell us details, context and any error messages - just stating an abstract problem that could have thousands of causes is not enough
What version of iPhoto? Of the OS? what has changed since it worked? How are you trying to open it (clicking on the icon in the Dock, double clicking on the application in the applications folder, ???)?
Anything else you can tell a total stranger who can not see you or your computer to let them assist you?

I am unable to upload my iphoto book for printing. I have previously uploaded two books without problems. It gets through the assembly step and the blue bar fills up the Upload bar except for a "hair" at the end, then I get the message that upload has failed. Cancel order or try again.
Preview yout book using this method - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1040
If it is good boot into safe mode, preview again and after checking again order while in safe mode

IPhoto Book Upload hanging up.
For some reason everytime my iPhoto Book starts uploading it gets stuck at 115mb? Any ideas?
Thanks a million in advance. My iPhoto book and calendars are getting stuck while uploading. Its stuck at the "connecting" screen. My Internet connection is tested and working fine. The problem with this is that Apple is authorizing the charge on my credit card so it reduces my money available. I don't have the funds to close and try my upload again. Why would they authorize the payment amount before the book is finished uploading?!

Hi
I have tried to upload iPhoto book several times but the upload failed. I have tried rebooting my iMac in Safe Mode but this results in iPhoto closing when I try to buy my book. I have uploaded books in the past using Snow Leopard with no issues.I hope this helps, thank you for taking an interest in this problem.

Why doesn't iPhoto '11 upload the correct photo to flickr?
Issue 1: I'm experience a very bizarre behavior in iPhoto '11 where when I try to upload my photos that I have edited using the iPhoto tools (enhancements, levels, effects, etc), it won't upload the edited photo (or the preview version using their terminology) to Flickr.
This is not a universally occuring issue either. For example, if I use the effect 'antique' it will upload the correctly edited 'preview' version of the image. Alternatively, if I upload one with the effect 'boost', it will not upload the correctly edited preview version of the image. Sometimes the opposite will happen as well, its incredibly frustrating.
I'm uploading to Flickr the actual size images.
Issue 2: If I try to upload a single image to Flickr after batch uploading items (as a way to troubleshoot the issue above), it will upload an image that is in the same album, but five photos earlier! What is this? Is there any way to get some clarity on the bugs occuring with iPhoto's uploading procedures? It's quite useless for all their talk about integrated photo sharing options...In testing this out further, it appears the the primary issue is that the edits (effects, enhancements, etc) are not persisting in this image. For example, in the album view, it looks edited; if I click 'edit', I see the changes that were made to the photo and the edited image. However, if I click 'info', all the changes are undone and it does not look enhanced whatsoever.
Furthermore, if I 'export' the photo it doesn't include the changes that I have made on this photo. In essence, it seems that if I add more than one effect (in this particular case, it has 3 effects on the image), it is unable to process these for exporting/uplading/sharing purposes.
This is primarily something I've found in response to Issue 1 above.
See the screen shots here:
In the Album viewer:
When 'edit' is clicked:
When 'info' is chosen:

When purchasing a Book, iTunes assembles the book then goes to submit but stalls. Tried 3 times with no success
Solutions anyone?I was experiencing this same problem:
1. Upload goes very quickly (a few seconds whether 10 Mb or 33 Mb).
2. Then I'd get an error message indicating "An error occurred while uploading one of your files. Please check your network connection and click Retry to resend your file"
3. I'd click the Retry button and it would indicate a successful transfer.
4. Shortly thereafter, I'd receive the cancelled order e-mail from Apple.
I am using iPhoto 5.0.4.
After a lot of scouring of the Apple KnowledgeBase and mostly of this forum, I tried many things, none to any avail.
I suspected finally that there may be some kind of network interference or interrution, so first I quit all apps that might access the Internet (e.g., Mail, Safari, iChat). Still no success.
Then I realized I had Earthlink TotalAccess and WeatherBug running in my menu bar. I quit both of these "mini" apps and voila! My upload of my 33 Mb book was successful (it took about ten odd minutes with a DSL connection over old clunky phone lines).
My suspicion is that it was Earthlink TotalAccess which is constantly sending out and receiving a lot of Network info. It's a very old app and not very "Mac-ish" anyway.
It may be that any high data transfers (i.e., photos) can be sensitive to this kind of frequent network traffic. Some have blamed Apple, but now that I think of it, I have had similar problems uploading large quantities of photos to the major services (KodakGallery, Shutterfly, and Snapfish). I even was trying sharedink.com as an alternative and had the same problem with a failed upload of my iPhoto book pdf file.
Hope this helps!

I am trying to buy an iphoto book and while my photos are being uploaded I get the following error messge at page 51 of 75 (of my iphotobook): "There is a problem with the photo with the fileneame 'img139.jpg.' The full resolution version of this photo either cannot be located or is corrupt. Please replace photo or delete it from your book." Now, I searched for the file in question (img139.jpg) but could not find it. How do I go about finding the problem photo if the culprit file img139jpg is nowhere to be found? I tried to find the bad photo by reorganizing the photos in my book but I keep getting the same error message at the same point of the upload process (page 51 of 75 of my iphotobook). Any suggestions on how to fix this problem? Thanks.
I found a solution to my own problem, and I offer it to help others: I exported my saved my book to my desktop as a PDF (from File select Print to PDF) and then examined the PDF file I created. I noticed in the PDF file which photos didn't show up on the file and deleted them from my ibook. When I selected to buy the book everything went smoothly. Hope this helps. I welcome any further solutions.

Why won't iphoto respond?
My iphoto opens, but does not "respond". It has the loading rainbow swirl going for a long time, and it won't open iphoto. I tried to update the software by going to "Software update", and so far everything is up to date. I don't know what else to do. Help me please.
Thank you.Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In Library Manager it's the FIle -> Rebuild command)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

Why won't iPhoto '11 display CR2 tags for Canon 7D raw files
iPhoto '11 won't display CR2 tags for the raw files from my Canon 7D. I didn't have any problem with my Rebel ST or any previous version of iPhoto.
Any help to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated.
AllanWhat a pity you didn't make the clear in your initial post. Would have saved us both some time.
It might also help to clarify some terminology. What you are calling the "image file number" is the Title of the photo. When you haven't added a tite, iPhoto uses the filename.
You can easily sort Raws from jpegs as Raws are automatically tagged with a keyword on import. So a quick smart album will tell them apart.
As to why it hasn't been fixed, you will have to ask Apple that question, no one here knows and Apple aren't here.

Why has my iPhoto book disappeared
From a google search it looks like my experience is pretty common. I spend days working on a book and then it suddenly ceases to exist on iphoto. I am using my new macbook pro so it must be the recent iphoto edition. Tried alt/command reload but to no avail. Really really annoying that it seems to be a common problem and it isn't yet fixed.
Anyone know a reliable alternative product to produce books and get them printed in Australia? I don't think I will trust iphoto again.
cheers, BillWhy has it disappeared? Some form of Library corruption.
Simple solution: Restore from your bck up.
Otherwise: Ths won't get your book back - that's what the back up is for - but it should prevent the issue recurring. Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
