Why won't iTouch eject on Win 7?

My question involves ejecting an iTouch (4th Gen) on Windows 7 (64-bit) computer.  After synching my iTouch in iTunes (latest version as of Nov 2012), I eject the iTouch normally by clicking on the 'down arrow' icon in the menu bar on the left of the iTunes menu (where it shows the iTouch is recognized).  Then when I unplug the iTouch from the synch cord, Windows makes that donk or clonk sound indicating that it was just disconnected.  This makes me feel that it hasn't been ejected completely.  I'm plenty familiar with ejecting such things as USB drives and other USB devices, where you have to eject them from the little menu on the lower right of the desktop (Right-click, then eject).  But when I eject those, it makes that donk/clonk sound at that time, not when you acually unplug the device. When you unplug a USB device after it was ejected first, there is no sound upon unplugging. So why does the iTouch (and my iPod act differently.
The reason it worries me is that I recently starting getting messages that they is no more room on my iTouch, which seems to have happend because it wasn't ejected properly and there are some file artifacts left behind filling up the drive storage.  Any suggestions?
Also the iTouch shows up in the Windows Explorer menu, but there is no "Eject" option there either and the normal hardware eject icon is grayed out in the lower-right of the desktop menu.
The other problem I am having is that the iTouch will make the iTunes crash every time it starts, if the settings in iTunes are set to "start iTunes automatically" when iPod is attached.  So my workaround is to start iTunes first and then plug in the iTouch.  This won't crash iTunes when connecting this way, but the other way around it always crashes 100% of the time, whether its my iTouch or my 4th Gen iPod Nano.

Thank you for that response.  It appears that our Excel 2010 has patches installed.  The version number is 14.0.6112.5000 which I believe is beyond SP1.
We are not able to change the patch levels of the customer's SAPGui.  Do you have any other suggestions?

  • Why won't my eject button work?

Just recently I went to put a CD in my disk drive on my 13 inch Mid 2012 MacBook Pro and received no response. There's no noise and the computer makes no effort or anything to accept the disk the way it normally should. At first I suspected that maybe another disk had become jammed in the drive so I tried force ejecting (holding down the eject button while computer restarts) and even entered some terminal code which did get the drive to make the noise it normally does when it ejects a CD but nothing came out. I feel very confident that nothing is jammed in the drive, and I even reset the SMR or SRM something System Management something, and it all did nothing. Even my eject key no longer gives me the icon on the screen when it is pressed. I don't want to say it but are some parts of my computer actually broken or can I maybe still solve this problem myself?

    Hello Auto Boa,
Holding your trackpad button (or clicking and holding the trackpad) while starting your MacBook Pro may eject the disc.
If the disc will still not eject, try holding down the trackpad or mouse button after restarting the computer. The Superdrive should attempt to eject the disc.
If the disc still does not eject, contact Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider, or make an appointment with an Apple Retail Store for additional assistance.

Why won't my secure thumb drive (FAT32) work with os lion?  I have used it ok with older mac operating systems.  When the thumb drive is inserted in the usb port, an error message appears stating that the disk was not ejected properly.  It shows as readonly in Finder.  When I try to eject it, the spinning wheel appears and I have to relaunch finder.

  • I downloaded the latest camera raw version, 8.2, but my DNG convetor still only reflects 7.1, why won't my DNG convetor update to 8.2?

I downloaded the latest camera raw version, 8.2, but my DNG convetor still only reflects 7.1, why won't my DNG convetor update to 8.2?

dng converter and cr are two different programs.
while they both do the same thing, the dng converter is a stand-alone app that does not install into another adobe program and cr installs into another adobe app like photoshop, lightroom etc.
and the latest version (as of 6/25/14) is cr 8.5.
download the dng converter is you have an app that's to old to accept cr 8.2 (or cr 8.5).

  • Why won't they make iTunes for us Linux users?

There is a large community of Linux users. We have no ITunes nor anything that we can make purchases, upgrades, synch etc. Why won't Apple make iTunes available for ALL users. I keep an old desktop running Windows XP simply for iTunes. Is there a reason Linux users are ignored?

iTunes does not support Linux. However, Wine may allow you to run iTunes. But you may encounter errors and problems. http://www.winehq.org/

  • Why won't Elements 5 run?

Why won't Elements 5 run on my Win 7 Pro machine?  When this custom machine was  first set up, all the programs running on my prior Dell Win XP machine were installed on this machine, including Elements 5.
Recently, my hard drive crashed and the mfg couldn't install most of the programs I had, including Elements 5. I still had the original disk and installed the program. It went through the installation and put a shortcut on my desktop. Unfortunately, when I clicked on the short cut, nothing happened. I went to the location of the the executable file and clicked on it. Same thing.
I went to my tech support company and they helped me uninstall the program and we "repaired" the program but it still wouldn't run. We reinstalled from the CD and it still wouldn't run.
Is there anyway, I can get my program to run? If it comes down to having to purchase a new program, I'll just use the Windows photo program. I think whatever is going on is lousy!

Did you try right clicking and run as administrator?
You could also try setting up a new user account an see if it will run from there.
I'm running  version 5 on one machine with W7 Pro 64 bit with no problems.

Why won't my Macbook recognize the install disk?  I want to run the Apple Hardware Test, but the computer will not boot from the install disk, it keeps ejecting the disk.

    Several possibilities -
The disk may be from a different model of computer.
The disk itself may be damaged.
The optical drive in your MacBook may have gone bad. Can it read other DVDs?

  • Why won't album artwork appear on I pod Classic?

Why won't album artwork appear on I Pod Classic?

I have had this problem since iOS4 and I recently (mostly) resolved it in iOS6.
    1. First make sure you do not 'Sign In' into iTunes store.
    2. I used playlists to resolve the issue. Create a playlist with one song, preferably one that does not have any album art.
    3. Create another playlist with all the songs you want to add.
    4. With your iTouch/iPhone attached open iTunes. Go to Device->Music. Under Sync Music:choose "Selected playlists, albums and genres". Choose the one song playlist from those shown. Click on the Sync(Apply) button. This will delete all of the songs.
    5. Once the deletion is complete choose the playlist with all the songs. Click on the Apply(Sync)button. This will install all the songs again and with album artwork.
    6. Once all the songs have been installed click on all the playlists that you want to add (no new songs) and click on the Sync(Apply) button again.
You should now have your songs with album artwork and playlists installed. Hope this helps. The song in the one song playlist won't have any artwork even if it is included. There were some albums whose artwork were not installed. I had a 95% success rate. As I said, it mostly solves the problem for me.

Why do either of them require IOS 4 or 5 and why can't Itouch V2 update to IOS 4 or 5 operating systems?

    1. The developer stopped supporting older iOS versions.
    2. A second generation iPod touch can be updated to iOS 4.2.1 but doesn't have enough RAM to run iOS 4.3 or newer.

  • Why won't my L4P and LKS files launch on customer's computer?

Events make me almost sure I caused this, but would appreciate help if there's a way to prevent doing this all over again...
Customer had a process file that was running fine, but with an increasing number of staff with access to Lookout he wanted user accounts created and security levels assigned to numerous Lookout objects (accounts and objects were all at default settings). He emailed me the LKS and L4P files, I edited them, and emailed them back.
The L4P and LKS launch fine on my computer, but won't on the customer's. On the customer's computer, launching the LKS file produces a compile error, but doesn't identify the error. I've also emailed the files to a colleague, who replied he had no problem either. Should mention colleague (like me) is running North American Win XP.
Files were generated in Ver 6.02(1) on WinXP machines, and bench tested fine on a Ver 6.1 Runtime also under XP.
The customer is located in Poland, has a Ver 6.1 Runtime, and is running it on a Win NT machine.
So assuming for a moment I caused this anomaly during my editing, why do the files not work at customer's location and why won't the compiler identify what it is?
More to the point, how do I fix this?
    JW_Tech

    Yo, JPhillips:
Thanks for the tip. Took a look at the err file (see for yourself)...
Lookout Process File Compiler Version 6.1 (build 27)
Copyright National Instruments 1992-2007  All rights reserved.
    cannot open source file: C:\Program Files\National Instruments\Lookout 6.1\cedrob.lks
This is the same folder where the unedited files WILL work.
Ryan, I've uploaded the cedrob2.zipfile to the ftp site. Would appreciate you having a look at it.
There is certainly a mystery here. If I'm working at a site where the OS is all English, I weigh how much editing I might have to perform and consider moving my Integrator license from my laptop to the customer's computer (to take advantage of the bigger screen, mouse, keyboard and the on-line editing of Lookout) for the duration of the session. In this case, I was at the site (in Poland) in August and since Polish is not my strong suit, I did all my editing on my laptop and transfered the files to customer's computer via memory stick. Everything worked fine during all that, so emailing the files should not be any different, yes?

  • Why won't Adobe FrameMaker 11 generate PDF?

Why won't Adobe FrameMaker 11 generate a PDF?

I was working on this problem a few months ago, but my workload made me simply use the FM 11 and FM 7.2 on my old XP PC. I now REALLY need to find time to focus on the FM 11 and Adobe tech comm suite on my Win 7 Professional PC. I "forced" myself to work on this today.
Here are answers to your questions:
I was trying to "save book as" PDF and it starts as if generating PDF with Distiller, but tps file is zero bytes. NO error messages. No, I never had to have Adobe PDF printer as the FM default printer in the past. But I just tried it with Adobe PDF as default printer, and it didn't work. Used RGB mode. Job option = "Standard". Yes, I checked for FM updates and it says there are none and that 11.0.2.384 is the latest version.
I am most frustrated and have tried everything. I have worked with FrameMaker for 15 years, and I thought I understood it well. But this has me stumped.
About two months ago, I took the PC to the office (I normally work from home but go there about once a month for meetings at the Dallas office) and sat with my PC side-by-side with the other technical writer. Compared what happened, and we were both stumped. I need to go back and do that again. My inclination is to uninstall Adobe Tech Comm Suite 4 and selective install only FM 11 with Distiller. Then I can go back and selectively install RoboHelp 10 for HTML help.
I REALLY appreciate your willingness to help. I am not sure what to do next. THANK YOU very much for responding. Like I said, I think I need another session at the office to compare notes step-by-step; I think it has something to do with the PDF printer/converter, but not sure why it works on other writer's PC and not mine. I might have to make time and call Adobe to see whether they can remotely access my PC and try to assist. But that assumes they have some expert available who REALLY understands this software.
    Thanks again.

  • HT203173 Why won't my songs burn to disk?

My itunes recently update to the 12.1.1.4 version (I am on windows 8 by the way).
After this download all 1200 of my songs were missing.  I followed an online guide to get them back and I also plugged in my ipod and transferred everything back onto itunes.
I have created a couple of playlists and they are just not burning to disks.  It has nothing to do with purchased songs as believe it or not, they are all cd imports.
Itunes follows the notion of burning the disk and all seems well.  I eject the disk when its complete and put it into the cd player in the car but doesn't work.  So I put the cd back into my laptop and it says it is a blank disk.
So, what's happening?  Why won't songs burn to a disk since this upgrade (and no it is not a faulty disk as I have tried 5 different ones)

This link provides the location where your iTunes media folder is located.
Deleting the iTunes app does not touch your iTunes media folder.
Once found, you need to select the location at iTunes > Preferences under the Advanced tab.

why won't itunes download on my pc. I get an error message saying not a correct 64 bit download???

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.
