Why won't iTune 11 run on Windows 7 64-bit???

Starting 3 ior 4 weeks ago -ever since updating to iTunes 11, I have been unable to start iTunes. I have tried every suggestion in the support community posting  (and a few that were not here) all to no avail. This involved many uninstalls (including components 1 at a time), reinstalling as a package and as individual components, updating, as well as uninstalling/reinstalling the .NET framework, and a number of other things. I did get access to iTunes for a short time by removing everything and installing V9.x.x, but this version would not allow me to access my wifes iPhone (she uses my iTunes - or did anyway.) Today I once again allowed an automatic update to 11, praying that it would work. Successful install, but will not run. I get the same Error 7 (windows 127) as before. The only difference is a different dll listed. I AM SICK OF THIS!!!
If anyone from Apple monitors these boards, could you please let me know when you are going to supply a good version of iTunes? You are about to lose not 1 customer, but four, including my wife and daughters, as well as iPhone users, as we will be switching to android phone at our next wireless renewal.

Many thanks again.
The procedure entry point FigSubtitleStringCreatePropertyList could not be located in the dynamic link library MediaToolbox.dll.
That's a less common one ... so we might be looking at incidental damage to an Apple Application Support program file rather than something specifically 11.1.4.62-related.
Restart the PC. Head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "Apple Application Support" and click "Repair".
Does the repair install go through okay? If so, can you launch iTunes without the error?

I've been trying to download iTunes to a new Windows 7 computer with no luck. Keep getting "Apple Application Support" not found.(Error2). Saw an earlier post saying installing iTunes would refresh Apple Application Support.  Did so, and on fourth attempt got "iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows Error 127).
I really need to have iTunes on this new computer!  Apple please help!!!

  • Why won't itunes 11 open in windows 7 (32 bit)?

I just "upgraded" to itunes 11, and now itunes won't open. I tried repairing, uninstalling and reinstalling.
I have a netbook with an Atom 1.6G, 2G of memory running windows 7, 32bit.
I worked well before the "upgrade".

Someone else suggested uninstalling Quicktime.  I did that, and it worked for my 64bit Windows 7.  Good luck!

Why won't i tunes start in Windows 7 64 bit?

Got it working, had to go to the start menu and do a search for "Apple Software Update" and update Quicktime - had an old version that wasn't getting updated. Itunes works without problem now.

  • Why won't Illustrator 10 run in Windows 7?

I thought that Windows 7 will run all programs that run under Windows XP, but I'm having a problem with Illustrator 10. I installed Illustrator 10 under Windows 7, and when I launch it, the logo appears in the center of the screen as it should, but the program suddenly quits launching before the Illustrator window appears. I successfully installed and am running Photoshop 7 and InDesign 2, which I purchased at the same time as Illustrator 10, about 10 years ago. But I'm having a problem with Illustrator 10. Any idea how to get Illustrator 10 to work?

Not sure about the specs for AI 10.  However you mentioned that Windows 7 runs anything that XP runs.  Well, sort of.  In order for this to
work you have to be running "Windows XP Mode" within Windows 7 which is basically a Virtual Machine that
Microsoft developed specifically for Windows 7 that will run a full copy of Windows XP.  You don't have to worry about the license since you own a license of Windows 7.  It is only available in certain editions of Windows 7 and only available for certain types of motherboard hardware (I think the virtual machine settings need to be addressed within the BIOS of your computer and you might have to use hyperthreading, though I do not recall what the specifics are of the BIOS settings--refer to Microsoft's help and support for Windows 7 for the details).
    Hope this helps,

  • TS1538 Is there a workarround for iTunes to run on Windows XP 64 Bit SP2?

I have got a new PC with Windows XP 64 Bit SP2 operating system.
I could install the 64 Bit version of iTunes (which is actually meant for Windows Vista 64 Bit or Windows 7 64 Bit)
    Version: 10.6.1
    Download ID: DL1427
    File Size: 73.23 MB
with only one issue: "Apple Mobile Device" could not be startet.
I have read the Apple-information: iTunes does not support 64-bit edition of Windows XP.
Is anybody aware of a workarround for XP 64 Bit?

You can run a 32 bit version of Windows XP in a virtual machine.  Microsoft is ending support for XP in less than two years, so you may want to invest in an upgrade.

  • Is there a download for itunes that runs on windows xp 64-bit

do you have an itunes download for windows xp
    64-bit

No, there is no 64 bit version that will run on XP.
However if you are prepared to to some hacking, some people have got ot to work.
    Here is an example:
    http://skunkwerks.wordpress.com/2008/04/13/getting-itunes-to-work-with-windows-x p-x64/
You may find others with Google.
iTunes itself  is a 32 bit application, the 64 bit installer has 64 bit drivers.

  • Why won't iTunes 12 open on Windows 7?

I doubleclick on the icon from my desktop and it does nothing.  I tried opening from the Start Menu, nothing.  I tried uninstalling itunes and reinstalling, nothing.  When I check the task manager, it doesn't even register that it is even trying to open. What gives?

  • Why won't iTunes 'play nice' with Windows 8.1

After following painstaking, tedious Troubleshooting hoop-jumping**, iTunes (latest version) STILL refuses to "play nice" with Windows 8.1
Stalls out (Windows Task Manager reports "not responding") and does truly nasty things like blanking computer display and making Windows 8.1 system commands non-responsive (iTunes also has to be Forced closed ['End Task'] using Task Manager)
    My question:
ANY HOPE that iTunes will EVENTUALLY actually work with Windows 8.1?? (Of course, there's NO '8.1' listed in drop-down menu, inspiring further confidence!)
Adding INSULT to INJURY - Apple programmers DEMAND/FORCE creation of NSA-grade Password to Login to iTunes!!?!  (8 minimum, mandatory Capital and lower case letters, plus number(s), plus NO repeats, plus NO "common passwords" [whatever THOSE are] etc. etc. etc....ad nauseum)
    ARGGGH!
** Update iTunes, start in Safe mode, re-start (iTunes & Windows), check AV status, shut down AV & firewall, scan for viruses, check status of all drivers, all DLL's, any "possibly conflicting" applications [whatever THOSE are], create new User Account, etc. etc. etc. ad nauseum!
At the risk of repeating myself ...  ARGGGH!

Just checking that you've tried "iTunes Safe Mode" as opposed to "Windows Safe Mode"?
Press and hold down CTRL+SHIFT the instant you click the icon that launches iTunes and keep holding until this message appears.
Click Continue, then close iTunes and reopen. Some people seem to have had success with this approach...
Alternatively, have you tried removing all iTunes components and then reinstalling as shown in the second box of Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates?

  • Why won't iTunes install on my windows xp?

So, my iTunes notified me that I needed to update my iTunes to the latest version. So, I did what I had done a million times before, checked the little box that would install the latest version of iTunes once i clicked the"install 1 item button". After the installation should have been done, my computer said something like, " there was a problem with the installation. please uninstall then reinstall iTunes". I then uninstalled iTunes. Restarted my computer, and went to apple to reinstall iTunes. I ied dozens and dozens of times to install iTunes, and it refuses to install. Why?????????????????

Do you get an error message when you try to install iTunes? If so, what does it say? (Precise text, please.)

  • Why won't iTunes download onto my windows 8 or even windows 8.1? I don't get any error messages, it just simply does absolutely nothing.

NOTHING HAPPENS. ***

it just ask permision to run program then

I'd like to see that screen if possible, stew. Could you take a screenshot of that permission message screen (Hold down Alt and press the PrtSc key), paste it into a Paint document (or similar image editor), and save the file. Then reply here, click the wee camera icon, do a Choose file, browse to the file, click "Open file", then click "Insert Image".

I just bought a new computer. I down loaded Itunes ( which intals with no issues) For some reason it will not load at all.

You need to download the 64 bit version.

That should fix up any issue you are having with the loading of iTunes.
