Why won't itunes 11 open in windows 7 (32 bit)?

I just "upgraded" to itunes 11, and now itunes won't open. I tried repairing, uninstalling and reinstalling.
I have a netbook with an Atom 1.6G, 2G of memory running windows 7, 32bit.
I worked well before the "upgrade".

Someone else suggested uninstalling Quicktime.  I did that, and it worked for my 64bit Windows 7.  Good luck!

I've been trying to download iTunes to a new Windows 7 computer with no luck. Keep getting "Apple Application Support" not found.(Error2). Saw an earlier post saying installing iTunes would refresh Apple Application Support.  Did so, and on fourth attempt got "iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows Error 127).
I really need to have iTunes on this new computer!  Apple please help!!!

I doubleclick on the icon from my desktop and it does nothing.  I tried opening from the Start Menu, nothing.  I tried uninstalling itunes and reinstalling, nothing.  When I check the task manager, it doesn't even register that it is even trying to open. What gives?

  • Why won't iTune 11 run on Windows 7 64-bit???

Starting 3 ior 4 weeks ago -ever since updating to iTunes 11, I have been unable to start iTunes. I have tried every suggestion in the support community posting  (and a few that were not here) all to no avail. This involved many uninstalls (including components 1 at a time), reinstalling as a package and as individual components, updating, as well as uninstalling/reinstalling the .NET framework, and a number of other things. I did get access to iTunes for a short time by removing everything and installing V9.x.x, but this version would not allow me to access my wifes iPhone (she uses my iTunes - or did anyway.) Today I once again allowed an automatic update to 11, praying that it would work. Successful install, but will not run. I get the same Error 7 (windows 127) as before. The only difference is a different dll listed. I AM SICK OF THIS!!!
If anyone from Apple monitors these boards, could you please let me know when you are going to supply a good version of iTunes? You are about to lose not 1 customer, but four, including my wife and daughters, as well as iPhone users, as we will be switching to android phone at our next wireless renewal.

    Many thanks again.
The procedure entry point FigSubtitleStringCreatePropertyList could not be located in the dynamic link library MediaToolbox.dll.
That's a less common one ... so we might be looking at incidental damage to an Apple Application Support program file rather than something specifically 11.1.4.62-related.
Restart the PC. Head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "Apple Application Support" and click "Repair".
Does the repair install go through okay? If so, can you launch iTunes without the error?

  • TS1424 Why won't itunes store open. not getting any error

Hello, can anyone please tell me why the itunes store will not open for me.

It either A) shows me a white screen where the store should be, B) shows me the white screen with iTunes Store written in the middle or C) actually shows me the store, but as though it can't read all the sophisticated coding and wants to convert it into just plain ol' HTML.
With those symptoms, I'd check through the following document:

I tried to run it as admin, did not work. I tried some winsock reset command, did not work either... I tried to repair my itunes files, did not work!
I have not tried to uninstall and reinstall iTunes though, in fear of losing everything that's on it.

  • Why won't iTunes automatically open when I connect my iPhone 6

iTunes is set to open when I connect my phone but will not do so. I have to physically go to the program and open it each time I connect my phone. This also happens when I connect my iPad mini. This began when I upgraded to the iPhone 6. Before upgrading I did not have this problem.

    Hey there Ray_J,
I understand that you want iTunes to be opening every time you connect your phone to your computer. You may wish to adjust this setting in your iTunes preferences to affect this behavior:
Prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically
Prevent devices from automatically syncing with this iTunes library when a device is connected. To sync a device, click the Sync button when the device is connected.
iTunes 12 for Mac: iTunes Devices preferences
    https://support.apple.com/kb/PH19595
If this is unchecked, iTunes will open automatically when you connect an iOS device. Thanks for being a part of the Apple Support Communities!
    Cheers,

    Remove iTunes Preference files
Some of the files that iTunes uses to store settings and preferences may be unusable and cause issues. iTunes has two folders where preferences are saved. Move one of them to the desktop and test to see if the issue persists. If it does, move it back and remove the second folder. The location for the two preference folders are:
    C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Apple Computer\iTunes
    C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes

  • Cannot get Itunes to open in windows 7 64 bit

I have installed after a complete reformating of my hard disk, installed and reinstalled itunes several times after a complete unistall of all related programs and tried just about everything that is recommended. What can I do to get itunes to open on my computer

Are you getting any error messages?  Perhaps this post would be more suited for the iTunes forums since it's an issue with the iTunes application itself and not your iPod.

  • Why won't itunes store open?

When I click on the iTunes store, either a blank white screen comes up, or it will open then disappear after a couple seconds and go back to the white screen.  Thoughts on why it might be doing this?

I dont know but am having the same problem and have had it for weeks.  Have tried almost everything and cant figure it out

  • Why won't iTunes 11 open?

I had to upgrade to iTunes 11 today (yuck!) cause My phones iOS 7 and iTunes 10.7 didn't work with it :(. I've had iTunes 11 before and downgraded cause I hated it. Like I said I downloaded it and when it finished installing I could use it. I closed it and went on with my day. Now here's my problem, just like when I first downloaded it, it only works the first time. After that no matter how many times I try to run it, both normal and as admin it never EVER opens.. Even if I connect my phone or iPad to my laptop it just doesn't respond. So basically the only way I can use iTunes, is if I uninstall it everyday and reinstall it when I need to use it, and that's just ridiculous. I would downgrade to iTunes 10.7, but then I can't use my phone on iTunes, so I'm screwed either way. There has to be some sort of fix to this? This far into crappy iTunes 11 I'm sure there has to be some fixes.
    Thanks for reading!

  • Why won't iTunes 7 open?

Among all of the iTunes 7 problems, I was hoping someone else would run into my same problem; yet it hasn't happened yet and I have been previously able to run the newest version of iTunes.
Now, however, iTunes starts to open, even giving me the 'dot' below the icon on the dock, only to unexpectedly quit before any windows open.
From what I remember, I made no changes to how I was using iTunes between the time it worked and did not work... I'm running the most recent updates on both OSX and iTunes. Notably, I run iTunes off of a Western Digital MyBook external hard drive.
I have tried deleting iTunes (gasp!) and reinstalling as well as the iTunes music folder replacement method (which fails because after moving the .xml file and the music folder- iTunes still refuses to open.)
Anyone had any experience with this error?
    Thanks in advance

After a visit to the Disk Utility (and a quick restart for good measure), iTunes still refuses to open.
Here's exactly what I did: verify and repair permissions on Macintosh HD, verify disk on Macintosh HD, verify and repair disk on the external MyBook. It didn't seem like it would let me verify and repair the permissions on the external (the little buttons were faded out); is this what I need to figure out how to do?
    Thanks again
