Why won't LR 3 load all the images in a cataloged file?

When I try to open a folder or collection of images (in Library, grid view), some of the images load right away, others take several seconds, and some never load. Instead I see gray boxes, albeit with the proper DSC number in the upper right corner of each. I'm using LR 3.6 on Windows 7.

The question is: where are your previews stored?
Normally, without applying some hack, they are next to the catalog.
On my windows7-system that is by default in
C:\Users\[your username]\Pictures\Lightroom, a folder named "[your LR4-Catalog name] Previews.lrdata".
So the previews should always be online.
It may be that LR4 was not complete in building the previews when you closed it last time ?
Otherwise I share your puzzlement. So I would render all standard previews for your entire catalog and then expect that it should not happen again...
Becaues that is the beauty of a complete set of previews: I can do all sort of LR-work apart from Develop while the images themselves are offline - something I would never want to miss!

Well I was thinking may be there exists an option with "java", when I
am starting an application from a jar file, I could force it to load all

List all JarEntries and convert the paths to fully
qualified class files
e.g file in jar
[1] /com/mycompany/proj/X.class
should become
[2] com.mycompany.proj.X
then for each entry issue
Class.forName( [2] );

Why won't iTunes play songs all the way through?

I don't understand, and I am very frustrated... I JUST PAID for a bunch of music on iTunes & there are a few songs that play all the way through to completetion. For instance, I bought Rihanna's album LOUD & the song Fading only plays to :54 seconds; after which it claims to have played all the way through and skips to the next song? What the ****? I dont understand what the problem is... Help?

Delete the songs from your itunes library (just your library). Redownload them from the purchased section in the itunes store. I had the same problem and redownloading it worked for me.

Why won't my playlist load in the order I've chosen?

I've run into a problem today. (it's my first since purchasing)
I've been trying to get my playlist to play in the order I've chosen and it just won't. I've made sure to click and unclick shuffle on/off, play playlist once, repeat or 1 song....nothing seems to work. It's disappointing because it's actually a workout compilation I like and it should really play in order. (for intensity)
Do I need to Reset my player? Reinstall iTunes?

Specifics: I Imported a CD called Massive Dance Hits 2000 (disc 2) It is In Order as it loads. Then, when trying to Sync playlist (which is In Order) onto the shuffle the tunes are out of order. (defeats the purpose of the compilation) Had a friend go through many different scenarios with me this evening; none of them worked. Also, this album is not available on iTunes or I would have just bought it. Should I just give up on this one CD? Perhaps it's because it is by Various Artists and iTunes/Shuffle doesn't know how to sync up when transferring. (?)

A question about programing style:
I'm making an image gallery and am loading about a dozen thumbs that load a larger image when each one is clicked. Works just great so far. But, as expected, there's a little pause before each corresponding large image is displayed.
I'd like to eliminate the wait, if possible, so here's my question: As a matter of preference or programing style, whatever you want to call it, do you guys usually load ALL the images first, thumbnails as well as large images, before displaying anything on the stage? Or do you just load each large image when necessary, after its corresonding thumbnail is clicked?
Sometimes I see very cool Flash sites that have the percentLoaded line or twirler displayed for what seems like a long time, but then each screen (MovieClip) after that displays fairly quickly and I'm wondering if that's what's happening - all, or at least a LOT of the images are being preloaded.
I've learned a bunch from you guys by asking my /*stupid*/ questions in this forum and I appreciate the help. I've still got a long way to go, though.

thumbnails, if they have small file sizes, i load sequentially (so they look nice as they're being displayed one-by-one). large images i load with a preloader display at the time the thumbnail is clicked.
background preloading of large images i don't do unless the client specifically requests it because it's more work to do and generally doesn't add a lot, in my opinion.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

Turn Off your computer. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your computer. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

My macbook pro won't load all the way when I start it up.

Lately, my mac book pro has been slow to use, and the colour wheel pops up often. I shut it down earlier today, and now when I try to start it up, it won't load all the way. When I do manage to get to the homescreen, the applications and toolbars won't load. Any ideas what the issue might be and how I can fix it?

It could be a number of issues, Fred.
Have you optimized your photos to no larger than 1000x750 pixels, per the FAQs to the right of this forum? Oversized photos are the chief reason for these types of failures.

You also say your videos are MP4s. Are these AVCHD video or are they from a "webbie" camcorder, such as the Flip cam? Flip video uses a proprietary codec that often jams up video editors. This is also covered in our FAQs.

Finally, have you ensured that the drive you are saving your video to has adequate free space and is freshly defragmented? You should always have at least 30 gigs of free space on your drive plus 30-50 more for each hour of video you're outputting.
And, if you are exporting to a drive other than your C drive, you should ensure that the drive is formatted NTFS rather than FAT32. FAT32 drives have a file size limit that often chokes video output.

We noticed in EBS -> Poolmonitor VO is trying to load all the records from the table, unable to reproduce this scenario.
Why application loosing request parameters?

When I export a PDF from InDesign CS6 with specific margins, Acrobat does not recognize the Art box. (I have PitStop Pro 11 for page box view)

We are exporting PDF's as you indicate. I see the same thing. The boxes are all the size of the original InDesign document. The PDF art box should be predicated by the margins in InDesign. When we had CS3, this worked great. Now, it seems that there is a disconnect between the two Adobe products honoring the page box size. I have contacted the Adobe techs via chat, and they had no clue what I was referring to. I find it mystifying that Acrobat can not interpret the art box set in InDesign as margins.

Not all apps support screen rotation. The Home screens do not rotate. But also check to make sure you have not locked screen rotation. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to reveal the Control Center and check that rotation lock is not on.

As it is loading all the videos, I think the flash player is running out of memory.

PRS600 ereader taking too much time to load all the books

Whenever I open My PRS600 from complete shutdown it takes too much time to load all the files which are present in Memory card. Is anyone else facing same issue?

Recently, I have been having some serious issues when it comes to my Sony PRS-600. I am running on a Windows 7 64-bit, and an updated Reader Library 3.3
The issue comes when transferring books to the e-reader from the library, and from the e-reader to a collection. The problem is that the software becomes intolerably slow while it's processing the command. The Reader Library software window grays out, displays (Not Working) and if clicked on it, shades to a white color and displays either "cancel operation" or "wait until program responds". If I do close the operation, it appears as if the e-reader doesn't follow the operation and still displays "Do not disconnect". Since I do not see any other way to disconnect (other than the eject option), I remove the USB plug which causes a bit more issues with the reader (such as removing all of my collections, for example!).
But anyway, that's not the main issue here. The main issue is that the book transferring is really slow. I need to wait a couple of minutes (or even more) just for the software to process. Moving just 1 MB of data requires so much time as if it's 1 GB. Sometimes it's random and does it fast, and sometimes the application is better not to be dealt with at all while it's processing the command. If I would inspect My Computer, the simple loading of the e-reader storage icons and information would make the Windows Explorer to "crash" (e.g, close all windows and then reopen them). It just happens that in all randomness even the creation of a collection makes the software slow.
So to recap: the reader software is slow when adding and moving books.
I hope someone will help me resolve this annoyance.
