  • Why won't my airport express turn on after thunder storm ?

Why won't my airport express turn on?

There are three Airport resets, soft, hard and factory default.  It would probably be beneficial if you tried each one in sequence.  Actually, you could jump to the factory default reset if you don't mind reconfiguring from scratch.
If none of the above helps, you may well have a harware problem.

why won't my ipone charge or turn on?
    <Edited By Host>

    Lets see, could be:
    faulty charger
    faulty cable
    faulty connector
faulty battery or other iPhone hardware
Without any details at all, it is impossible for anyone to say.  You could take it in and let an Apple Genius take a look at it to narrow it down to iPhone hardware or battery.

  • Why won't my airport express allow internet connection on TV blu ray? I have internet connection on iMac

Why won't my Airport Express allow internet connection on my Blu Ray when there is internet connection on my IMac?

I'm guessing you only have the modem/router supplied by your isp and the Airport Express.  Is the Airport Express connected to the modem/router with an ethernet cable?  If not, plug one end of the cable into an available port on the modem/router and the other end in to the WAN port, indicated with a dashed circle, on the Airport Express.
    Have a nice day.

Why won't my airport express keep its connection?

What is the AirPort Express not keeping a connection to? Another wireless router or your MacBook Pro?

  • Why won´t my airport recognize my wan?

So I was sick with my Amper router that was provided to me by Telefonica (my phone company here in Spain), so I bought an airport extreme knowing that I could use it as a router.
I go through the procedure of setting it up, and everything appears normal, but for some reason the airport extreme doesn´t recognize the wan cable I plug in that was provided to me by Telefonica. Now the cable works perfectly in the Amper router, and so supposedly it should work perfectly in the airport. So this leaves me asking what is wrong? Do I need a different kind of cable?
I went through all the other steps, aaaaand the light on the airport is green. Looking at the status of the airport, the only error that appears is that I am not connected to the internet due to the fact that the airport does not detect a wan cable.
Is the wan cable the problem? If so, why? Any suggestions?

Eldardoamarillo, Welcome to the discussion area!
Is the Amper router a combination DSL modem/router device?
If so you will need a DSL modem with an Ethernet output. Connect the output of that modem to the WAN port on the AirPort Extreme base station (AEBS).

  • Why won't network require password to turn off/on?

After updating my os to 10.8, I cannot lock network.

    Update.
The only way I can get the wifi connection to ask for a password (when turning on and off)  is by making a non-admin account and of course logging into it.  I am required to use admin credentials to turn wifi on or off.  However the logic seems off for this not to work as an admin if the admin requires these credntial to turn wifi on and off, and as an admin it has worked before.   LOL nevermind.  I jsut tried again... and no password required.  Brand new user.  Only keychain access is for the airport base station itself..  OK EDit again... just tried to disconnect and it asked for a password.  I wonder how long an admin password is good for... AND EDIT AGAIN.  Turned it off and on with no password again. ..... I guess the wifi service asks for a password when it feels like it. LOL

  • Why won't my airport express work with iPad and iPhone?

I have my internet line coming into the basement. Its been hardwired from the basement modem to an airport extreme upstairs, but we sleep in the basement and the wifi is bad. I have a 1st gen airport express. So my idea was to put the extreme down with the modem, and run the hardwire to the express upstairs. I did this and my laptops and iMac got the same signal as when the extreme was upstairs, but my iPad mini and iPhone only have two bars unless you stand 5 feet from the express. Macs get about 48mbps, iDevices about 20mbps. 15 feet away on the porch the iPad won't even pick up the signal. The apple store advised I put the extreme back upstairs, and the express downstairs wirelessly. They said the iDevices may have been ignoring the express and trying to get the signal from the extreme in the basement.
Is there any way to use the express and the extreme to get solid signals up and downstairs? My fear is apple once again boned me and wants me to buy a new express.

If it's the original b/g only model its model number will be A1084 or A1088. It appears in the red box as shown below:
To configure one of them requires an older version of AirPort Utility. Check its model number.
It should not be necessary to connect it to your Mac with an Ethernet cable. Connect it directly to the Extreme, "hard reset" it again if necessary, then launch AirPort Utility.
It should appear in your Mac's Wi-Fi menu as "New AirPort Express...". Select that and proceed to answer the questions.
The AirPort Utility setup page with the words "using Ethernet" is as shown:
Its appearance in AirPort Utility will show it connected to the Extreme with a solid (not dashed) line.

  • Why won't my airport express generation 1 connect to anything any more?

All I get is flashing green light which tells me it's trying to connect.  It's worked perfectly for years until this week.  Have Apple done some automatic updating which means it won't work any more?  As it won't initiate it won't, therefore, show on my computer so I can't 'talk' to it at all.

I would recommend that you do the following as a minimum:
Power-down the modem, AirPort base station, and computer(s).
Power-up the modem; wait at least 10-15 minutes to allow it adequate time to initialize.
Power-up the AirPort base station; wait at least 5-10 minutes. Note: The AirPort's status light may continue to flash amber after it has intialized. That is because, there may be some additional configuration items necessary, like setting up wireless security, before the overall setup is completed to get a green status.
    Power-up your computer(s).
In this basic configuration, the AirPort base station will broadcast an unsecured wireless network with a Network Name (SSID) of Apple Network NNNNNN. Network clients, connected to the base station either by wire or wireless, should now be able to access the Internet through the ISP's modem. Once Internet connectivity has been verified, you can use the AirPort Utility to configure the base station for wireless security and any other desired options. Please post back your results.
If the above steps do not solve the problem, start over with step 1 above, but then perform the next steps between steps 1 & 2. above.
Disconnect the AirPort base station from the Internet broadband modem.
While all of the devices are powered-down, perform a "factory default" reset on the base station. This will get it back to its "out-of-the-box" configuration and make setting it up much easier, especially if you use the "Assist me" process within the AirPort Utility. (ref: Resetting an AirPort Base Station or Time Capsule)
After the base station resets, go ahead and power it back down.
Reconnect the AirPort base station to the Internet broadband modem. For the Extreme and Time Capsule, be sure to connect the cable to the base station's WAN (circle-of-dots) port.
Continue with step 2 in the first set of steps.

  • Why won't iPad recognize wifi

After upgrade to 6 iPad won't recognize wifi I have always used at home and office. What do I do?  Also lost a game and app center does not show it as purchased.  Now what do I do?

Look at iOS Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections  http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398
iPad: Issues connecting to Wi-Fi networks  http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3304
iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4199
    Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

  • Macbook Pro won't start up, white light turns on, then goes out.

My Macbook Pro froze, so I hit the power button, and now it will not turn on.
When I press the power button the white light on the front comes on, and then goes out after about 6 seconds along with that noise it normally makes when turning off. Also if I cover both speakers the light fades.
This used to happen to me pretty regularly, and in the past it seems just a matter of giving it 24hrs and then trying to turn it on and it usually fixes itself by then. But I've started taking on freelance clients so I can't deal with this crap anymore and would like to know why this is happening. I've taken it to Genius's before but by the time I get there it is turning on again, and they have no answers for me.

You could try reseting the PRAM/NVRAM (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379, see section titled "Resetting PRAM and NVRAM") or reseting the SMC (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964).

  • Why won't my Airport Expr extend the network created by my Airport Extreme?

I have a 802.11n Airport Express that creates a great, solid wireless network in my house. The signal is pretty weak in the basement though so I thought I'd use an old 802.11g Airport Express to extend.
However in the Airport Utility > Wireless settings for the Express, no "Extend a Wireless Network" option exists.
I then tried setting up a WDS network and made the Extreme the WDS main and entered in the mac address of the Express as a WDS remote, but once the Extreme restarts is shows a WDS error that states "This Apple wireless device is set up as part of a WDS network but no other wireless devices were found."
Am I doing something wrong? Do I need a 802.11n Express to play nice with the 802.11n Extreme?

However in the Airport Utility > Wireless settings for the Express, no "Extend a Wireless Network" option exists.
In order to extend the 802.11n wireless network of your 802.11n AirPort Express Base Station (AXn) you will need another AXn. You can extend the wireless range of the AXn with the older 802.11g AirPort Express base Station (AX) but only for 802.11g. This is why your are not finding the extend option in the AirPort Utility for the AX ... and why you must configure the two for a WDS.
I then tried setting up a WDS network and made the Extreme the WDS main and entered in the mac address of the Express as a WDS remote, but once the Extreme restarts is shows a WDS error that states "This Apple wireless device is set up as part of a WDS network but no other wireless devices were found."
Most likely, the problem is that the distance between the two AirPorts is either too great or there is too much Wi-Fi interference between them to establish the WDS. I suggest that you first try configuring the WDS with the AX in near proximity of the AXn to verify that you can successfully create the WDS. Once verified move the AX to the desired location.

  • Why won't my airport express work with sky router

Im not sure if its possible but i am trying to connect my Airport Express to my Sky (G) router so i have a better wifi signal in the bedroom the other side of my house, will sky routers not actually work with anything not supplied by Sky or is this rubbish? Any help would be great please?

will sky routers not actually work with anything not supplied by Sky or is this rubbish?
A Sky Support Forum could probably best answer that question.
We can say that the AirPort Express can only "extend a wireless network" using wireless only provided that the "main" network is being produced by an Apple router. As far as we know, the Express is not compatible for this purpose with routers from other manufacturers.
