Why won't my calendar apps on my iPhone or iPad notify me of an invitation?

If I send calendar invitations on icloud.com, it works just fine. All invitees get the badge icon overlaid on their calendar app icon, and it is sitting in the calendar inbox. When I try sending an invitation using an iPhone or iPad, it does not work.

Any luck on this? I'm having the same issue ... We have a CalDAV server, and everything else works as expected.
I really need my event invites to appear in the Calendar inbox. It's getting really frustrating having to go find the invite wherever it may be, just to accept or deny.

P.S. When you go to the "Info" tab of the iPhone while connected to iTunes and click on "Sync notes", it reads: "Your notes are being synced over the air. You can also choose to sync notes with this computer. This may result in duplicated data showing on your advice."
I'm confused why everything else syncs via USB except Notes. Why "over the air", which appears to be unreliable? And I don't want duplicate notes. Any advice how to fix this would be great. I take notes all the time on both devices, and have been caught unprepared in the past while out in the field without a note I took on the iMac and that I needed, say, to get where I was going. Really would like to get this resolved so I don't have to think about it anymore. Thanks again for any input!

When I make an calendar entry on my Mac (Lion) is doesn't automatically sync with my iphone or ipad. But if I make the entry on the iphone/ipad first, it will show up in my calendar on the Mac. What have I not done right?

On your Mac open System Preferences > iCloud
Deselect Calendars then reselect.
On both the iPhone and iPad, tap Settings > iCloud
Switch Calendars off then back on.
Give iCloud a few minutes to re sync the data.

Why won't images from Aperture sync to iPhone or iPad?

Whenever I try to sync impages in my Aperture library to my iPhone or iPad I get en error message:
iPhone - The iPhone "iPhone" cannot be syned. An unknow error occurred (-50)
iPad - The iPad "iPad" cannot be synced. The required file cannot be found
I have repaired my library and previews have all been produced and I can access them for other app like iWeb so I'm a bit baffled by this one.
Any ideas?

My Tom Tom GPS application will not allow for use on new IPad. It work fine on 4S but when trying to use WIFI only IPad it says Poor connection and never launches. Is it not compatible with IPad? Or do I need an IPad version of TomTom?

Presumably the Tom Tom GPS App needs GPS hardware which the WiFi-only iPad doesn't have.

why won't my music play on my iPhone 4s? it was playing thru the music app but now it's not playing. It show the song but doesn't do anything.

I had this issue when I first upgraded my Iphone4 to ios5. All my music appeared on my device as they always have but they would not play. I searched around online and it appears there was mention of unchecking the "sync music" check box in itunes under the music tab (when device is connected) and syncing your device. I then unchecked all my playlists and synced again then started adding back my music from scratch. After that headache - everything seemed to be back to normal and my music was working once again.

ymcneil - thanks for the work around. But isn't it amazing Apple forces us to do this to maintain our privacy.
I live in Australia where there are good privacy laws protecting citizens. I do not want to be forced to use iCloud when the data sits in the USA with weaker privacy laws and also able to be seen by the US Government under the Patriot Act. Further I suspect Apple will interrogate my contacts and calendar for commercial purposes and I do not want that either.
I chose to synch my calendar and contacts with my iphone and ipad. I have relied for years on carrying around my phone with my diary on it. I can no longer do that.
Whoever made this decision at Apple has to be someone who knows little about the world. I can actually see EU regulators getting very annoyed by this.
I too woud like the itunes mac to iphone/ipad local backup given back.

Why won't some of my numbers spreadsheets from my iPad open with iCloud on my Mac (Yosemite)? When I look at the files in FiNader there's a grey bar next to the files that won't open.

I am having the same problem. Created new spreadsheet on iPad with fresh iOS and Numbers installs (3/2015) and am unable to open this spreadsheet in iCloud in Safari on MacBook Air (all current). I get the following message:
"Sorry, something went wrong.
This spreadsheet can't be opened right now. Please try again later."
Tried reopening on Mac from iCloud and resaving; still cannot open.
Quick fix: Copying the spreadsheet content from the iPad spreadsheet to one created on the desktop recovers the ability to open it in iCloud in Safari.

Why won't some photos or videos sync to my iPad when they work fine with iPhoto and iTunes? Other photos taken with same camera sync fine from iPhoto while certain events are inexplicably incompatible. I've recently foundvthecsame occurrence with certain mp3s and videos from iTunes.

For photos try deleting the photo cache from your computer and then re-try the photo sync and see if they then copy over - the location of the cache, and how to delete it, is on this page http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1314

Have you tried Advanced > Create iPad Version and then sync those versions to the iPad

How can I sync my iPad calendar app with my iPhone calendar app?

I use my iPad calendar app a lot. How can I get the info on the iPad app to sync with my iPhone (it's the same calendar app). Thanks in advance for the help.

I guess there are a few ways to do this. I make my iMac the "home" for calendar and contact info. I make sure it is current and accurate. I sync my iPhone and my iPad2 to it frequently. If I enter new calendar data on the iPhone or iPad when I get home I sync them to the iMac to be sure it is current.
We use BusyCal at home so all our Mac's are automatically synced to one another and we sync our mobile devices to the computers. So I sync my iPhone and iPad to the iMac and all of them have the same information.
We do not use Mobile Me or another other web based service for calendar syncing since we feel that give us less control and more complexity.
