Why won't my computer let me backup my phone it says an error has occured. I got the new itunes and authorized the computer

I tried to sync my iphone as I have before and now it is saying that an error occured and it will not back up my phone. I downloaded the new itunes restarted my computer and phone... but it is still not working???? please help

When i take photos or videos on my ipod touch with the camera, then i plug it into the computer to sync, the computer shuts down and this blue screen comes up saying "an error has occured" and a heap of other stuff.

It doesn't wipe the memory or anything off the ipod. Whenever i sync my ipod without photos or videos it works fine. It also doesn't mind me taking photos off itunes to put on the ipod. I have had a look around and a couple of people say reinstall itunes, but i don't know if i will lose all my songs and apps. Any suggestions of help?

Removing all Apple related software and reinstalling iTunes should bring all needed drivers back: Removing iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
Also check for new driver updates for Windows, especially if you have a webcam installed.
iTunes Store purchases or songs imported from CDs are saved in your My Music folder by default and are not deleted by removing iTunes. While it is highly unlikely that you will lose any contents of your iTunes Library when following these steps, it is always a good idea to ensure that your iTunes library is backed up. It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.
Use your backup copy to put everything back.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup ( not good), then you can transfer itunes purchases from an ipod/iphone/ipad: File>Transfer Purchases

We won't know until you try the procedure. The reset will not affect the content of the iPod.

When I first try to open it the pop us says: "You can't use this version of the application "iPhoto" with this version of OS X. Version: 9.2.1" When I try to update, it pops up to say "These apps cannot be accepted by your apple id - These apps were already assigned to another Apple ID and they will be available in that Apple ID's purchases list. If you don't have access to that Apple ID and want to receive future updates, you will need to purchase the application". I checked and there is nothing under the "purchases" in my App store. Then will say "update unavailable with this apple id - This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or canceled." Then the third pop up says "We could not complete your request. There was an error in the App Store. Please try again". Just want to know how do to fix.

After I upgraded to Mavericks I was also having this message when I tried to update. There was a previous post about this problem which offered this simple solution which worked for me:

Got it! Thanx. What I did was go to my account, check that they had my new ID and Password which they did, then hit reset button. All fixed.

okay from reading posts it seems if I transfer my backed up info from my old comp to the new one and erase my dad's phone's back up i could reset my phone and it would transfer all my old data back onto the phone, be linked to the new computer and i could proceed. By calling iPod tech support while you are under warranty. You also have 14 days to return it w/no questions asked for a replacement or your $$$ back.

Well done getting the wireless network secured.
You have to precede the (hex) password with a '$' in Mac OS, to tell the Internet Connect dialog box that you are keying a hex password (rather than ASCII). This is because the Mac has detected that the network is WEP protected, and leaves it to you to decide how you want to key the password.
As an alternative, in Internet Connect (or from the AirPort icon menu), you can elect to join an "Other" network. If you select your network again, it'll come up with "WEP Password" as the option of Wireless Security. You can change this to "WEP 40/128-bit hex" and then not have to precede your password with the '$'.
Alternatively, you could tell us the make and model of your wireless router and we can tell you how to set, and use an ASCII password. From your 10-character hex password, we can see that you're using 40/64-bit WEP. Non-Apple routers can be a bit fussy when using ASCII passwords with 40-bit WEP (don't worry, this is also true for Windows PC's using 40-bit WEP too), but we can talk you through it.
As a final alternative, as you have such a whizzy Mac, as long as your wireless router supports it, you could use WPA security, and never have to worry about ASCII / hex / '$', etc. Older Macs (particularly original AirPort cards - not AirPort Extreme - and OS9) were limited to 40-bit WEP.

If the problem is that iTunes does not see the iPod try:

or
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Device not recognized in iTunes for Mac OS X
