Why won't my icloud restore my content?

My iPhone 4 backed up to icloud last night and i got an iphone 5 this evening.When i typed in my icloud information to restore my content, the only thing that downloaded to my phone was contacts from another iphone that shares my icloud account. Can someone please explain to me why this happened and how i can fix it?

Just typing in info does not restore from icloud backup, you need to wipe your phone and restore from icloud backup of iphone 4 using instructions here - under "how to restore from icloud backup"

Why won't my iCloud sign in?

After I properly use my Apple I.D. and password, I get this following message..

So, what does this mean and why is this keeping me from using the iCloud function of my phone? And of course, how do I resolve this bug!!!

Error: com.apple.appleaccount error 403
Recreate Error: On a Iphone/Ipad device that has "already" created the maximum of 3 per device Apple limit of ICloud account creation attempt to create or login to ICloud service tab in Settings. You will be presented with "com.apple.appleaccount error 403" which does not tell the laymen anything useful.
Cause: IOS 7 reports a "best guess" error instead of detailed error explanation.
How To Resolve Error: Find a device that has not been used to create an ICloud account the maximum 3 times and use it to create the ICloud account by logging into the Settings/ICloud tab with the Apple ID you want a ICloud account created for.
Keep in mind this will use up one of the three lifetime allowed ICloud account creations allowed by Apple on that device.
Also per support: If an existing account is logged into the ICloud service. A. Backup phone using iTunes on a mac/pc. B. At bottome of Settings/ICloud Delete the account "AND" all the user date from the phone. It will offer the Delete all data option. The reason for Deletion(and is why we backed up on a pc vs. the cloud) is when you create the new ICloud account it will backup all of the Device owners information to the wrong persons account.
Once you have created the new ICloud account log into that account on device that was presenting error: "com.apple.appleaccount error 403" it should allow the ICloud login.
Once you have verified the "device with error" is ICloud functional delete the ICloud account from the device used to seed the ICloud account and delete again all user data from cloud. Restore the recently created mac/pc Itunes locally created backup to the phone and then go to Settings/ICloud and login with the device owners Apple ID and password and verify your backup to the ICloud settings and Eureka! your done.
It took less time to do that for me to type this lol.

Having problems getting my iCloud email account to work properly within iOS 5 on my iPhone 4. It works perfectly on iCloud.com and Mac OS X Mail and started to work on my iPhone, but since approximately 3 days ago it won't sync or download new messages. I've tried the fix guide provided by Apple and all I've accomplished is to delete all of my folders and messages downloaded prior to when it stopped working. I have also tried restoring the iPhone to no avail.
Does anyone have any ideas?

So, it turns out that iCloud mail does work on my iPhone, just not through a certain wifi hotspot.
Feel quite idiotic now...

HT4972 why won't my phone "restore"? I downloaded ios 5 and did not unplug my iphone. Toward the end it said error occurred, then said iphone cannot be restored. Now it has a pic of itunes and won't do anything. I can't even make a call, or get email.

Just tried to download iOs 5 on my iphone 3G and now it says "can't restore" iphone. I just has a pic of itunes. Won't do anything even after hard shutdown.

The iPhone 3G does not support iOS5. The only way you could get iTunes to download that particular iOS is if you were attempting a hack. The lastest firmware for the 3G and the last one that it supports is 4.2.1.

I have iCloud on my phone and I wanted to back my phone up before I upgraded to the iOS 6. Everytime I go to back it up, it tells me that same thing everytime saying, "Not enough storage. Why won't my icloud control panel launch

I installed the iCloud control panel on my PC which runs Windows 7, it seemed to install fine, I restarted my pc but now the control panel will not launch. If I try to uninstall the pgm it says I am still signed in, but I cannot sign out until I open the pgm. Any ideas?

Update to the latest version of iTunes.
I'm running iTunes 11.1 and iCloud Control Panel 3.0.
Only way I was able to launch iCloud Control Panel is to kill taks Apple Push. There has to be a bettery way to lauch it.

Why won't my iCloud preferences open?

I cannot open my icloud preferences. When I open system preferences and the internet accounts come up there's a "blanket" over all of it. And I can't close it, I can only minimize it. It's been that way since I upgraded to the latest operating system.

Drag the Dock Icon off the Dock.
Then in Applications drag the SystemPreferences Icon to the Dock again.
Logout and login again.

Hi all
I was updating my iPhone 4Gs software today and came across an issue when the update finished my phone switched off and anyway it came back on and is showing up as black iPhone 5 on my itunes (It's a white iPhone 4S) which I find odd.
Also, I had my iPhone plugged into my mac a while before I updated the software, meaning my phone was fully backed up.
When the phone decided to turn off and turn back on, a restore message came on the screen and I tried to restore from latest back up (which was today) but It didn't let me - an error message came up saying that the latest back up was corrupt
Please can you help me- can I restore my phone from todays back up somehow??

Why won't my iCloud connect

every time I go into my iCloud settings I get a verification failure message then I login and a message pops up after saying my iCloud cannot connect. This has thrown my time of by two hours and the more I reset my time it seems my phone messes up more! Help me please!

So you are trying to log into iCloud on the iPhone in Settings, or are you trying to log into it via Safari?

Why won't my iCloud email address set up on mac mail?

Been trying to use my iCloud alias email address by setting up iCloud on my mac mail. It connects iCloud but says the password is wrong for the icloud address...but it's just my AppleID password.
Tried setting up as account 'other' and enetering the settings from here http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4864 but still saying password not correct.
Driving me mad!!
Any help would be much appreciated.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
