Why won't my iPad connect to the iTunes Store? Internet is fine - able to search web.

My iPad will not connect to the iTunes server.  Some of my games quit working. My aps will not update. What would cause this? My music plays and some of my games still work. I can search the internet and browse to my hearts content.

You may want to reset all settings
Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings
Note: Data will not be affected but settings for Wi-Fi, FaceTime, Message, Home Sharing will be reset

    There appears to be an issue going on with the App Store right now.
    I can access the store but cannot do a search without first selecting one app and have it pop up in the window, then enter my app into the search field and then struggle through a couple of more steps until apps appear in the list based on the "keyword" in the search bar, and then I can tap on one of those from there.
    Something is wrong on Apple's end is my belief.

    Here are the steps that I would recommend going through when experiencing this issue. 
    Troubleshoot issues on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
    If you haven't been able to connect to the iTunes Store:
    Make sure your date, time, and time zone are correct in Settings > General > Date & Time.
    Note: Time Zone may list another city in your time zone.
    Make sure that your iOS software is up to date by tapping Settings > General > Software Update (iOS 5 or later) or connecting your iOS device to iTunes and clicking Check for Update on your device's Summary page.
    Check and verify that you're in range of a Wi-Fi router or base station. If you're on a device with cellular service, make sure that cellular data is turned on from Settings > General > Cellular.
    Note: If connected to cellular data, larger items may not download. You may need to connect to Wi-Fi to download apps, videos, and podcasts.
    Make sure that you have an active Internet connection. You can check the user guide for your device for help with connecting to the Internet.
    Make sure that other devices (portable computers, for example) are able to connect to the Wi-Fi network and access the Internet.
    Try resetting (turning off and then on again) your Wi-Fi router.
    If the issue persists, try troubleshooting your Wi-Fi networks and connections.

    I think it had something to do with my quicktime programs.

    Applecare Senior Advisor Txx Bxxx (I have his contact info in an email he just sent) just confirmed with me that the problem people are having with the App Store not loading is an apple issue with there servers, ITS NOT YOUR IPAD so don't go restoring it!   It's not happening to everyone however but they are looking into it, its really hit or miss.

    Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
    This works for some users. Not sure why.
    Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year.Then see if you can connect to the store.

  • Why won't my applications purchased from the itunes store launch on my macbook pro? My software is up to date.

    I purchased a few games from the app store recently. I have updated all of the software on my Macbook Pro but the applications will not launch. If the problem was contained within just one application, I could have fixed it, but neither of the applications will launch. I click on them, they turn blue, but that's it. I do not have an iPhone or iTouch with which to test the applications. Could somebody tell me what is wrong with my computer/the applications and how to fix them?!

    Apps on the iTunes store are made for the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch and not the Mac.
    By any chance, do you mean the Mac App Store?

  • Why won't my ipad connect to the wifi after I updated it to ios 7.1.2

    Never have I ever been so upset at an electronic device
    If I had know my iPad would cause such distress after this update I wouldn't have attempted it.
    Because of this bloody update a plethora of problems have appeared and I have no clue how to fix it.
    Firstly at around 4 this morning the wifi connection was spotty so I had to keep on reconnecting, but that was fixed by getting closer to the router. I thought "problem solved no biggie right?" WRONG! I left my house and came back expecting the wifi to connect again, but that was a fail.
    SOOOOO I figured I needed to forget the network and log back in. That didnt work. I should not have done that. I should not have done that.
    I got the *Unable to join the network. Dismiss* crap over and over and over again!
    So now I figured I'd look up some help! Why not give it a go! So i got that whole (general-  reset- reset network) with or without turning on airplane mode bs. Didnt work. Trust me I tried both.Twice.
    Since that didnt work I figured a reboot would. No. I turned my iPad off so many times I probably gave the poor thing whiplash
    Now this has been going on all day and I finally gave in an hour ago and decided if I restore it to the ios 7.1.1 it'll work again.
    Well it must be my freakin birthday cause guess what? You have to turn off your icloud's "find my ipad"to restore and to do that you need a........ wait for it................. internet connection!!!! Brilliant. Just. Brilliant. -_-

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at

    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are drooping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app

        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

    Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
    Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
    You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them.     I am currently having a problem with my iPad 2. It won't connect to my home wifi as well as my iPhone 4s. I have them both sitting right next to me and my phone has perfect wifi connection while my ipad can't even find the wifi. I've been having this problem for a while now.     I am staying at a Comfort Inn in Gettysburg.  Why does my laptop and phone connect, but not my iPad?  This is VERY frustrating and an issue that not exist! 

    It happens because the router has allocated an inappropriate address to the device. Resetting the router makes it reallocate addresses to the connected devices.

  • I cannot connect to the iTunes Store on my PC. I am running Windows 7. I have run the updates and the flushdown. I've run the repair download ... no results. Help!

    iTunes still does not work properly. It will let me play the music, but it still won’t let me connect to the iTunes store. I did all of the updates, including the "repair missing files" and did a flush and everything comes back as just fine.
    I’ve thought about totally uninstalling and reinstalling, but I don’t want to lose all the settings and configurations. Hopefully we can figure out what went wrong.
    Last week, I was trying to download an app a couple of days ago and it seemed to get stuck. We had to do a “hard shutdown”to get the computer to shutoff and get out of the iTunes program. I don't know if that had anything to do with my problems. Hopefully any suggestions will help me get back into the iTunes Store. I miss my iTunes!!
