WHY WON'T MY IPAD3 CHARGE?

My ipad3 has stopped charging since I moved to ios7, anyone know why?

1. Reset iPad
2. Try another wall socket
3. Try another cable (make sure it's an original Apple cable)
4. Try another charger (make sure it's an original Apple charger)

    Lets see, could be:
    faulty charger
    faulty cable
    faulty connector
faulty battery or other iPhone hardware
Without any details at all, it is impossible for anyone to say.  You could take it in and let an Apple Genius take a look at it to narrow it down to iPhone hardware or battery.

  • HT1386 why won't my ipad charge from my computer - my iphone does! and where has my facetime and contacts icons gone?

Why won't my ipad charge from my computer when my iphone does? also where have my facetime and contacts icons gone?

A computer USB port does not provide enough power to charge and run the iPad at the same time but it will charge it if the iPad is turned off.  It will take about four times as long to charge than with the iPad charger.
The Contacts icon may be inside a folder, such as Utilities.
There is no Facetime icon.  Start a Facetime link from a contact.

Why won't iPhone 4 charge in the car anymore?  I have changed out the cords several times. It's a Belkin...bought at the apple store...not a cheapo!

why won't my ipod charge when i use my new usb is used?

A new USB what? Cable? If the old one still works and the new one does not that would point to a bad new cable.

  • Why won't my ipad charged when plugged into a computer?

I have a new ipad and for some reason it will sync etc when plugged into one of our computers but it won't charge.
My husbands one charges in the same USB port and on any computer but when I put my ipad into the same ports it says "not charging"why?
    Thank you

Most computer USB ports don't have enough power to charge an iPad.  Typically, the iPad can only be charged with the supplied adapter.  If your husband's iPad is actually charging, it's charging very, very slow.
See p. 33-34 of the User Guide.

  • TS3274 Why won't my iPad charge when I connect it to my computer?

I just got an iPad and I can charge it with the wall charger it came with, but unlike my iPod touch when I plug it into my computer it won't charge. I'm confused as to why it won't.

The iPad battery requires more power to recharge than the iPod and the USB port on the computer does not supply sufficient power to charge it. Apple recommends that you use the supplied power adapter and plug it into a wall socket.

  • Why won't my iPhone charge?

This has been a problem for the past day or two...
I was facetiming someone and when I put it on charge it would charge and a few minutes later it won't.
Before I went bed, it took well over 8 hours or so for it to charge, normally it takes like two.
So comes today, I ran out of battery and when I connected it, it wouldn't charge... Well it says it's charging, but it won't switch on and it's stuck on the charging screen... Furthermore, it also says it's charging, but it won't move up... (The charge bar)
I've tried using different cables to charge my phone, but the same problem still occurs.
    Any help would be appreciated
    Thank you.

Are you charging from a wall socket or a PC ?

  • Why won't my Macbook charge a battery???

I bought a battery on ebay a few months back when I thought I was buying a macbook from another guy with a bad battery macbook. It has sat out for a few months but it only shows having 3 cycles in the "about this mac" page. It was new as of a few months ago, then sat around my desk until trying it on this other macbook.
This macbook that I am currently trying to get working did have a battery with 325 cycles on it. It was not charging according to "about this mac."
When I put the new battery in, the battery icon at the top of the screen has an "X" in the middle.
I just reset the SMC (or I followed the directions on how to do it, I have no idea if it worked or not cause there is no mention of a chime or ding or anything to let you know it was successful).
    Any other thoughts?

Was this "ebay" battery an Apple battery or a knock-off?
How can you tell it has 3 cycles if the MacBook won't recognize it (the X in the MenuBar)? If you can see info from System Profiler, copy and paste it here.

  • Why won't my phone charge properly

It will charge to about 10 15% then the little plug icon to show its fully charged pops up instead of the lightening bolt I took it into the store to get it checked and they said there is nothing wrong with it the tech just restored it witch I did at home before taking it into the store to get it checked I was very amazed the he couldn't find anything wrong when I got it home I plugged it in to fully charge the battery and to my amazement it charged ok for a bit then seem to get stuck at 87% for about an hr or so I then unplugged it and plugged it back in to get the plug icon again I then did this several more times and it popped up to say it is fully charged I have ruled out the charger and the cable as I have tried 2 of each .  The service tech said that the restore they do in the shop is different than the one we can do at home I am wondering why this is so too and did he tell me something to make me stop asking questions about the phone that he could not answer . If anyone can help it would be a big help thanks heaps

If you are charging with your computer switch to the wall charger. It can supply twice the current.
But the real problem is something on your phone that is using power faster than the charger can replenish it. You need to find what it is and fix it. If you have an MS Exchange email account that is the likely cause. Go into Settings for it and turn off all of the switches, reboot your iPhone and see if the problem is solved. If it is, turn the switches back on.
If that is not the problem go to Settings/General/Background Apps Refresh and turn it off. Then reboot the phone again. If this solves the problem turn it back on, and turn off individual apps until you find the offender

  • Why won't my ipad charge properly?

So I'm trying to figure out something strange with my ipad (ipad 4). Whenever I charge it at home via the regular wall charger its fine and charges away as per normal, however whenever I charge it at uni it just barely charges. On 3 separate occassions in different buildings around campus I had it plugged in, and today for example I had it plugged in for nearly 2 hours and it charged 3% ... when it's charging at home it's probably almost fully charged. I don't understand why it takes so long somewhere but not somewhere else. I thought the problem could be the uni itself, the power running through the place, but no one else I know has any problems.
I should make it totally clear, this is charging via the wall charger, not via a computer (which I know also barely charges it at all).
So I really have no idea what is causing it, if it was not charging properly anywhere then I'd just figure there's something wrong with it. But it's the fact it charges fine at home which really confuses me. I mean right now in the time it took me to type all of this its charged 1%, that's a 3rd of the charge it got after 2 hours at uni haha
Anyone come across anything similar? Ideas?

    Hi,
Can I just ask if it syncs okay? I had a problem where it was not recognised by any computer.
From what you have said, I think it is that the iPad requires lots of power to charge - this means ports like USB 3.0 and Superspeed USB ports are the only ones that work (apart from the wall).
    Hope this helps!

  • HT1476 Why won't my battery charge?

I dropped my phone and my battery percentage won't go above 48% . It will however decrease when unplugged. My batter icon says charged. How can I fix this?

My guess is some of the cells in the battery were damaged in the drop. I would make an appointment with a Genius at your local Apple store to have them look at the phone. Let us know how you make out.
