Why won't my iphoto events drag into google plus or shutterfly

I have been trying to drag my photos from an event file in iphoto onto either Shutterfly or Google Plus, and I cannot do it. I used to be able to do it with no problem, but it will not work any longer - for about a year, actually. Any ideas of why this is happening?

Thanks, but I am on the Shutterfly Express Loader or the Google website where I used to be able to highlight an event on iPhoto, drag it to the Express Loader and then it would upload. That no longer works. Sometimes if I upload all of the photos I want to transfer to Shutterfly onto my desktop, I can highlight them there and send them to Shutterfly, but that doesn't always work anymore either. I decided to try to do the Google Plus as another online photo storage and am havig the same problem with highlighting and dragging from iPhoto to the website. I just like to have my photos backed up several ways, external hard drive and via the web so I can show friends and family vacation photos. I have lost years of photos in the past and am bound and determined not to have it happen again.

Why won't AI let me drag the selection icon into a Live Paint group?

I routinely add paths to existing Live Paint Groups, by dragging a path that is outside the group, into the LP group. But AI won't let me drag the "selection icon" from a nested layer, into an existing LP Group. Why?
It seems I'm requesting the same action, but AI won't allow the icon to be dragged into the group. I have to either open the layer and drag the objects directly, or drag the objects into the main layer, then into the Live Paint Group. I think this is an interface flaw. Does anyone follow me and have an observation?
FYI… I realize I could jump into the Live Paint Group using Isolation mode, but that takes extra steps and makes the template less useful.

Live Paint groups can't contain sublayers. When attempting to drag a layer/sub-layer into a Live Paint group you are attempting to add a sub-layer, which Live Paint does not support.
You can drag individual objects into the Live Paint group because they are objects, not layers.
The "Layers" panel is somewhat of a misnomer, it's actually a "Layers and Objects" panel and each will have it's own restrictions.

Why won't my iPhoto content refresh in iMovie?

I am relatively new to the iLife suite, but so far things have made sense. I was going to use iMovie to create a DVD slide show for my parent's anniversary. I imported all of the content into iPhoto and I have both an Event and Album labeled "Anniversary". When I view either from iPhoto it has exactly the photos I want to include.
I open iMovie, start a new project and then click the photo button to review my iPhoto content. When I look at the iPhoto > Events section, I do not see the new event "Anniversary" that I added. If I scroll down....I do see the album I created....however when I click it there are no photos shown.
I have tried closing and re-opening iMovie as well as restarting the machine but to no avail. As a last resort I also tried creating a folder on my desktop called Anniversary with the same content and dragging it into iMovie but that doesn't work either.
Does anyone have any idea why iMovie doesn't see the update pics I added to iPhoto?
For reference I have iMovie and iPhoto 11 running on OSX Lion 10.7.5.

Try to play the movies thru youre ibook plug into the ACD, it should works.
Or you could get a crappy Gpu like the 7300gt (macpro2006) I think isnt HDCP and hook the screen to this card when playing HD content that are HDCP (cpu will handle up to 1080p even on a 7300gt)
Intel are to blame. I think HDCP IS A SCAM . Not Apple...they are obligged to provide their store HDMOVIES in HDCP .
Plug any blueray drive or anything playing HDCP, same result.

Why won't emails I send go into my Sent folder?

I would appreciate some help figuring out the following issue:
I am registered in iCloud. On an older Mac, I am accessing iCloud via Safari. After logging into iCloud, I see the icons for my Mail, Contacts, Calendar, FMiP and iWork. Mail, Contacts and Calendar seem to be syncing okay between my older Mac (accessing iCloud via browser) and my iPhone - except the following:
When I send an email (or reply to an inbox email) from my older Mac (iCloud via browser) the email IS sent. However, the email I sent does NOT automatically appear in my Sent folder - either in iCloud via browser or on my iPhone Mail application. This is the problem - namely, sent emails sent using iCloud via browser do not show in the Sent folder.
As additional information, when I send a new email or reply to an old email USING MY IPHONE MAIL APPLICATION, the message DOES appear in the Sent folder on both my older Mac (accessing iCloud via Browser) and my iPhone. This works fine, but the reverse procedure does not.
Why won't messages sent from my iCloud via Browser appear in the Sent folder? Is there a bug in the Apple software?

Do you have "Save sent messages in:" checked in Preference > General on icloud.com, and are you looking in the mailbox set in that option?

Why won't quicktimes and mpegs import into iTunes?

I'm trying to make a playlist of videos in iTunes. Several of my movies won't import when I drag and drop them. Some were created in Final Cut Pro 7 as basic MOV. One is an MPEG I received frome someone. Why won't they import?

Why don't my iphoto event names match up to my iphoto master file names?

I recently downloaded Yosemite, which has slowed my laptop down significantly. This has prompted me to transfer all large files - photos, movies and music off my laptop and onto an external hard drive (in addition to my time machine backup hard drive).
I was instructed (at the Apple Store) to open Finder then Pictures > iPhoto Library. Then to right click on the iPhoto Library folder and select 'show package contents', this reveals a large list of folders but I understand that the Masters folder is the one to care about with respect to back ups. When I open up Masters I can see 8 folders labelled 2007 - 2014. In each of these folders are other folders housing all the jpeg files.
THE PROBLEM:
For some reason in the 2007-2009 folders the Master file names match up to the Event names in iPhoto. This is great and makes sense! However, after 2009 everything gets really messed up in the Masters folder - despite my iPhoto Library being meticulously organised into Events that are all labelled. For example, when I open up the 2014 folder the path looks like this 2014 > 10 > 06 > 20141006-214510 > which then houses the jpeg images. It looks to me like these folders represent upload events as opposed to the Events that I organised them into in the front end of iPhoto. WHY!?!
THE QUESTIONS:
Why is this happening? And can I fix it so that it doesn't happen when I next import photos into iPhoto?
Should I just stop using iPhoto?
What happens if I change the names of the Master folders in the back end of iPhoto to reflect the Event names in the front end? Would it be better to just organise them on my hard drive?

1. It's not a problem as you never ever access your photos in this way.
2. If you want to back up your original photos you do this via the Export function: File -> Export

3. None of this saves space on your HD. To do that you need to move your Library from the HD to the external:
Make sure the drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
a. Quit iPhoto
b. Copy the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
c. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
d. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.
4. That particular Apple Genius isn't.
As to the specific questions:
Why is this happening? And can I fix it so that it doesn't happen when I next import photos into iPhoto?
It's happening as that is how iPhoto works and there is nothing ti fix. Exporting makes the issue redundant.

You'll corrupt the Library. And it's unnecessary.

Why won't my iPhoto pictures permanently delete?

When I go to delete my pictures in my events album, they go into the trash, and then when I try to delete my photos from trash they get sent back into their original albums.
I already tried to restart my Mac, and to delete less than 100 pictures at a time.

In iPhoto you have Events and you have Albums. These are different things. What's an 'event album'?

Go to your Pictures Folder. Is there an iPhoto Library there?
Most Simple Back Up:
Drag the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to another Disk. This will make a copy on that disk.
Slightly more complex: Use an app that will do incremental back ups. This is a very good way to work. The first time you run the back up the app will make a complete copy of the Library. Thereafter it will update the back up with the changes you have made. That makes subsequent back ups much faster. Many of these apps also have scheduling capabilities: So set it up and it will do the back up automatically.
Example of such apps: Chronosync - but there are many others. Search on MacUpdate or the App Store

Why won't my QT movie drop into iDVD?

I'm getting under a serious time gun here.
I've compiled many family photos with music and minimal titles in iMovie 3.03. It plays well there.
I've exported it to Quicktime full quality DV to my desktop where it's a 540 KB QT movie. It plays beautifully within QT as well.
When I open iDVD 2.1 and try to import or drag and drop this movie, nothing happens.
Any ideas why my movie won't appear?

540 KB usually implies a "reference" movie. 540MB would be a "self-contained" file.
I suggest exporting to DV Stream (from your original iMovie Project) and make sure you check the box (part of the Save dialog) that says "Self-Contained".

Why won't the SATA HDD fit into a hard drive enclosure?

So, I need to send my early 2011 MacBook Pro 13" to be repaired due to a power malfunction; the computer won't even recognize that the battery is there. Since Apple has no way of guarenteeing that they won't wipe my hard drive, I purchased a Sabrent 2.5" Hard Drive Enclosure so I can manually take out my hard drive and back it up on another computer (my Apple Care representative told me that this will not void the warranty). When I took my hard drive out, however, it wouldn't fit into the enclosure because there are pegs on the side of the drive that prevent it from properly sliding into the enclosure.
I'm thinking about just plugging in the bottom part (the USB connection to the computer) to the hard drive without putting it into the actual enclosure. The enclosure is just a tin case that will house the hard drive, so I can't see why just plugging the USB connection into the drive wouldn't work. But, I'm no computer expert so I'm not sure if this will fly. Will this pose any sort of risk to the hard drive? Does the hard drive absolutely need to be housed in the tin enclosure? Or can I just transfer all my data with the hard drive outside of the enclosure without any problems?
I'm pretty desparate, so any input would help. Thanks!

Those pegs are actually mounting screws & come off. You need a Torx T6 to remove them.

Why won't my RAW files import into LR4?

Hello all,
Something very strange is going on with LR4. I have been using LR since version 1 and never had this happen before. When I have an SD card filled with jpegs and RAW files from my Fuji X100 camera and try to import all of them into LR 4, ONLY the jpeg files get imported. None of the RAW files get moved into LR at all. I have to create a new folder, move all the RAW files so that they are alone, and do a second import. Why is this? Why cannot I import all at one time, not even thinking about the difference?
Seems absolutely stupid that my RAW files are being ignored.

Why won't my iphoto update

1 - enable the Debug menu in App Store:
open the Terminal application.
copy the command below and paste into the Terminal window:
defaults write com.apple.appstore ShowDebugMenu -bool true
followed by Enter.
launch App Store, login.

I click on my iphoto, but it just loads for forever. I can't actually get the pictures to load.

Remember: we cannot see your machine. There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 8 different versions of the Operating System.
