Why won't my iPod touch (4th gen) no longer connect to wifi?

Yesterday I noticed that my iPod Touch (4th generation) was no longer connected to my home wifi. It can see the network, but it won't connect. There is no error message of any kind, but the spinning wheel thing comes up to the left of the network name and it won't quit. I took my iPod to work today (as I normally do), and it did not join the network there either. Same thing- it saw the network, but would not join. What can I do to fix this problem?

Does the iOS device connect to other networks?
Does the iOS device see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • IPod Touch 4th Gen No Longer Connects to WiFi

Tonight I've been watching videos via the new Youtube app (from the appstore, since the one that comes with iPod is no longer available). I was watching a Youtube video when the battery on my iPod touch ran out. I connected the charger, the iPod turned on, and it suddenly won't connect to my WiFi anymore. I have other devices that connect to the WiFi with no issues. What happens is I go to my WiFi settings, and select my router as the access point, and a rotating loading icon appears next to my access point's name, 'belkin54g'. But the loading icon never goes away, and as a result doesn't connect to WiFi. I recently upgraded to iOS 6 if that helps. This WiFi connection has always worked fine on this iPod touch, so I have no idea as to why it decided to crap out on me.

  • My ipod touch(4th gen)no longer syncs to itunes 10.7 via USB

My ipod touch(4th gen)no longer syncs to itunes 10.7 via usb. i knew it didn't work via wifi with the new updates but this is too far. i can't see it in itunes at all anymore. i restarted my ipod already still with no results. the only thing i did is create and delete playlist from the ippd and deleted others from itunes as well. i've done it before but this time i assume it's led to this. any suggestions?

Disregard. It seems i just needed to install an optional update with windows update. either that or just restart my computer instead of my ipod. silly me.

  • Why isn't my iPod touch 4th gen not turning on after getting the ios 5 installed?

I just installed the new iOS 5 to my iPod touch 4th gen tonight and when I got home from dinner (about 10min ago) it still hadn't turned on after letting it sit plugged in for over two hours after the update. I was wondering if anyone knew why it wasn't working or if it had happened to anyone else? Any help?

  • IPod touch 4th gen will not connect to anything after update. Please help.

Ok, so I haven't updated my 4th gen ipod touch since I bought it, which was well over a year ago. Just recently, apps have started to force me to update to the newest iOS and many updates require it too, so I finally decided to update and get it over with. Well, I synced everything from my ipod and then updated. Well, to my horror after I came back I found out that even though I had CLEARLY synced my apps. They were gone on BOTH my ipod and my computer.
Not to say I was really ticked off or anything, but I had almost 15 GB or so of just apps on my 32 GB itouch. I read somewhere that I can go back and reinstall all my apps but that would be a PAIN. Turns out there aren't many others ways to go about doing it so I was left with little choice. Well, once again, I ran into the problem that absolutely nothing would connect on my ipod touch.
So, I have two problems actually:
    1. Is there anyway besides reinstalling apps for me to get back all the apps I had prior to updating my ipod? And in the future, how can I prevent itunes from deleting my apps when I clearly have them synced before updating?
    2. Why won't my ipod touch connect to anything wifi related? When I open the app store it just simply loads. And it will continue loading forever; I had it "loading" for about an hour until I decided to come here. Same goes with iCloud, facetime, Safari - just anything that has to do with connecting to my wifi.
Things I've done: I've restarted my ipod once already, I've reset my router as well, and I've also tried to disconnect from my router then reconnect. None of them have worked so far. Any help would be appreciated.

    - If synced media like apps and music are not in the iTunes library on the computer one which you update they will not be on the iPod after the update since the backup that iTunes makes does not include synced media..

  • IPod Touch 4th gen stuck in connect to itunes mode

At first my iPod Touch 4th gen said that it was "iPod not eligible for requested build" as I was trying to update to iOS 5. SO I went on internet and looked up the error. It told me to do a manual restore. Now my iPod is stuck on the "Connect to iTunes" screen and is not being recognized by iTunes: "iTunes could not connect to this iPod because an uknown error occured (0xE8000022)."

*Forgot to say, What should I do, PLEASE HELP!

  • IPod touch(4th gen) no longer supports accessories?

    http://www.pinterest.com/pin/create/extension/
My iPod touch (4th gen) suddenly stopped supporting my Altec Lansing speakers, my iHome and my Onkyo dock.  I have updated to the latest version of iTunes, reset my iPod, wiped and restored my iPod (running iOS 6.1.6), turned my iPod off and on, unplugged and plugged back in all of the accessories...all to no avail.  The iPod will charge on all of the docks, so they recognize it, but the iPod says "This Accessory is Not Supported by iPod touch".  Last week it all worked fine.

    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
    - Reset the accessories

  • Why won't my iPod touch 3rd gen. let me slide to unlock? Could it be fixed for a low price?

I come across my old iPod touch third gen. I charge and boot it up. When it got to the lock screen I couldn't slide it to open. I tried restoring it, and about 15-25 minutes later, it boots up, and I still couldn't open it. I dunno, like 2 years ago, I was charging it. I wanted to listen to my music with my earphones on. But it kept pausing the music, but I don't know why. So I got mad at it, haha, and threw it at the floor. And then I guess it stopped working. A year later maybe, I got an iPad 4th gen. And today I found my old iPod. And then found that it doesn't work. I just want to know if it can be fixed, but I don't think I will use it... There are no Apple Stores in North Dakota, so I don't know. I think the closest one is in Minneapolis, Minnesota. But I can't drive that far..... Just wondering, but doesn't really need to be fixed cuz I have my iPad    I love it so much :) but yeah. Just wondering. Thanks!
