Why cant my Mac book pro find my Zumo 550

Have you been to the Garmin site and got OS X drivers for it? If they have any.
Could be it will only work on a Windows PC. Don't know as I don't use Garmin.

I'm having a battery issue with my computer, and need to bring it to the nearby Apple Store to have the battery looked at and possibly changed. I wanted to back up my computer in preparation for my visit, but for whatever reason, my Mac Book Pro is not recognizing my trusty LaCie external hard drive, a device I have used with this computer for two years now and performed countless backups with. I am not sure why this is happening. I have already tried restarting the computer multiple times, and unplugging and replugging the hard drive, both to no avail. I cannot view my flash drive OR my office server, which I should be able to connect to via VPN. VPN was installed on my Macbook Pro at my office on Friday. It worked fine. Now I bring it home, and I connect using VPN, and it shows that I am connected, yet the server hard drive icon does not appear on my desktop (as it usually did) and I can't see how to access the server at work.
I also cannot view flash drives when I plug them in - they just don't show up.
I had Norton installed; I read online I should disable that. I did this, and no luck. I also have already done all the things suggested on this post and have all the boxes checked, and yet, still cannot use a flash drive or access my work server.
I am stuck? Do I have to bring my Macbook pro in for service? I have NOT upgraded to Mavericks.

Alright.., I will try this and hope i´ll do it right. My (a little older ) MacBook Pro has the same problem, it just wont shut down. Things works kind of fine until I shall shut it down, cause then the wheel will spin and spin and spin (and it goes to sleep still spinning), so it must be some corrupted files or app that is stuck. I just bought MacOs10.6.3 to reinstall or recover the harddrive, but I´ve never done these things on a Mac before. I have formated in Windows alright, but I am worried about the drivers, I dont know how to back them up! ??? Where do I find them? I hope I dont have to wipe the disc out fully, that it helps with just some cleaning up. I will come back after my "operation".. please wish me good luck! I really dont want it to crash completely.. My mac book ran out of battery wile it was turned off.
I have tried charging it over night to full battery and it still say it is starting up after 1-2 hour .
It will not go to home screen.

Did you reset the SMC? If you did and that didn't work, you can try a PRAM reset:
Shut down your Mac.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command (⌘), Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys.
If resetting the SMC and PRAM didn't do it, then follow the steps in this Apple note. You didn't say what operating system you're using (iOS is a mobile device operating system). When the steps in the Apple note get to running Disk Utility, if you are running OS X 10.7 Lion or 10.8 Mountain Lion, go into OS X recovery by booting and holding the command and r keys down. You can choose Disk Utility and do the repair disk from there.

So I have never experienced this problem before. My flash drives always appeared on my desktop, then one afternoon, my usual flash drive was not showing up on my MacBook, so I assumed it was the flash drive and not my computer. Since that day, I haven't really used a flash drive for anything until today when I tried to save a few photographs on a different flash drive this time. I plugged in the flash drive in both usb ports and still nothing. I cannot find my flash drive anywhere! I checked all my system preferences and everything seems to be right so why am I still having this issue? I don't have a problem when i plug in my ipod or ipad, and I can't find my flash drive in Disk Utilities either.

Are you really still running Snow Leopard (10.6.8) as shown in your profile? If so, that's why. Full use of iCloud needs at least Lion 10.7.2 or Mountain Lion.
If you have upgraded to Mountain Lion and forgot to update your profile, here are some things to check:
Is it on a network?
Is it signed into iCloud? The same iCloud Account?
Are Contacts and "Calendars & Reminders" checked in the iCloud and same account's "Mail, Contacts & Calendars" panels of System Preferences?
Are you looking at the correct accounts in Calendar and Contacts?

I just found and removed a small piece of sticky tape which was covering the mic. The mic is on the top surface of a mac - you can only just see a lighter coloured small round circle in line with the camera on the top narrow surface. My problem was sorted despite all other help and just before I gave up. Check no-one has posted a sticky message, camera cover or even an ornament over your mic. How many folk know where the mic is?
