I was trying to look up how to change permissions on a folder by going to the MAC help in finder when I realized no matter what I asked, it just wouldn't stop the spinning circle and a blank page.

Download OnyX and in the "automation" section is a "reset Mac OS X help"
see if that works, it has for some,
while your add it, check off everything in automation, it will give a slight performance boost.

Why won't normal screen popups work anymore?

Until a week ago everything was perfect. Now I cannot access any site that uses screen popups eg. Banks or airlines or even just a twitter access or deny popup is not appearing. I have unchecked the popups in the tools - content section. I have also lost my bottom of the screen plugin extensions like amazon s3.
It's incredibly frustrating as I have to open IE to access my normal sites. I can't even upload an image to my wordpress sites as the popups don't show!

Try a reset no data loss: Hold down the home/sleep button together until you see the Apple logo and then release, then wait for the phone to boot back up.
Can also try setting - general - reset - reset network settings - you will have to enter known wifi password again.
Or restore from a backup, if that doesn't work restore as new.
If the above doesn't help, then make an appointment with the Genius bar and take it into Apple and have it looked at.

I just found and removed a small piece of sticky tape which was covering the mic. The mic is on the top surface of a mac - you can only just see a lighter coloured small round circle in line with the camera on the top narrow surface. My problem was sorted despite all other help and just before I gave up. Check no-one has posted a sticky message, camera cover or even an ornament over your mic. How many folk know where the mic is?

A friend of mine turns out a lot of DVD's for and organization that he does photo work for and he has found
that burning DVD + or - can make a diferance along with the age of the player and he has gone back to
burning them at the slowest speed possible. (people in the organization sends him old pictures that he fixes
then burnes a DVD for them and returnes the pictures and DVD.)

To check that the battery is damaged, open System Information or System Profiler (in /Applications/Utilities), choose Power in the sidebar, and copy here "Charge Information" and "Health Information". You can also check your battery status in the battery menu, on the menu bar. If its status is Replace Now or Service Battery, take your MacBook Pro to an Apple Store or reseller to have the battery replaced for free.
