One of these should help:
Right-click on iPhone name and select "Restore from backup", which does not erase any data other than re-load your last backup, or
Select Restore, which will erase your iPhone and re-load the OS. At the end you can re-load your last backup to save you from having to re-do all the settings and preferences, and you don't lose app data, texts, camera roll, etc.
As above, Restore but don't load your last backup. This will erase everything and you'll set it up as a new iPhone, which means re-doing all your settings and preferences, and losing app data, contacts*, etc.
*Contacts can be restored if you're using Exchange, or if your computer contacts are up to date, or if you use a 3rd party app to extract your contacts from your iPhonebefore you Restore.
Only do the last one if the others don't help. -
Why won't my Macbook charge a battery???
I bought a battery on ebay a few months back when I thought I was buying a macbook from another guy with a bad battery macbook. It has sat out for a few months but it only shows having 3 cycles in the "about this mac" page. It was new as of a few months ago, then sat around my desk until trying it on this other macbook.
This macbook that I am currently trying to get working did have a battery with 325 cycles on it. It was not charging according to "about this mac."
When I put the new battery in, the battery icon at the top of the screen has an "X" in the middle.
I just reset the SMC (or I followed the directions on how to do it, I have no idea if it worked or not cause there is no mention of a chime or ding or anything to let you know it was successful).
Any other thoughts?Was this "ebay" battery an Apple battery or a knock-off?
How can you tell it has 3 cycles if the MacBook won't recognize it (the X in the MenuBar)? If you can see info from System Profiler, copy and paste it here. -

The download takes a long time. If you have a Ethernet Adaptor use it. Try to locate a high-bandwidth wireless connection. Do you have enough free space on your SSD (including keeping 10-20% empty for VMEM and temporary files)

Why won't my MacBook upgrade to OS X Mavericks?
I just purchased a MacBook pro that is about 4 years old and is running Mac OS X Server 10.6.8, I have read that my Mac should be compatible for an upgrade to Mavericks but went to the app store to purchase it and it didn't work. It says that my processor isn't compatible, but I read that my version of MacBook Pro should be able to upgrade to Mavericks. Why won't it let me upgrade? and also, if I can't upgrade, is this the best software that is compatible for my Mac?
If you can upgrade, check to make sure your applications are compatible. PowerPC applications are no longer supported after 10.6.

Why won't my MACBOOK PRO charge anymore, I am living in China and my 8 month old MACBOOK PRO won't take a charge!! It has now gone flat and I am out of a computer. I bought a new charger but that didn't work. This is ridiculous!!

To check that the battery is damaged, open System Information or System Profiler (in /Applications/Utilities), choose Power in the sidebar, and copy here "Charge Information" and "Health Information". You can also check your battery status in the battery menu, on the menu bar. If its status is Replace Now or Service Battery, take your MacBook Pro to an Apple Store or reseller to have the battery replaced for free.

Why won't my Macbook recognize the install disk? I want to run the Apple Hardware Test, but the computer will not boot from the install disk, it keeps ejecting the disk.
Several possibilities -
The disk may be from a different model of computer.
The disk itself may be damaged.
The optical drive in your MacBook may have gone bad. Can it read other DVDs? -
I have mid 2009 Mac Book Pro running 10.9.1. The hdmi mini port no longer supports sound on the Sony TV. This is apparently a change. It no longer shows as an option in system preferences/sound.Any ideas?
The 2009's didn't support sound on HDMI. That came in 2010. Are you sure it ever worked?

I am running 10.8 and I am trying to get a E-mu 1x1 midi/usb connector to work with my keyboards. It's not working with any keyboard at all. I believe it is a Mainstage/Mac issue. Mainstage can recognize the the interface but it won't work.
Here are two screen shots to show you what I am seeing. The first screen shot shows it allowing me to select (highlighted in blue) my admin user (which is what I am locced in as). The second screen shot shows it allowing me to select the "Guest" user (highlighted in blue). However when I click on the user "Orion" nothing happens. It will not change to highlight that user.

The "edit in" menu is completely inactive. All plug-ins are visible but in light grey; i.e. not accessible. Any idea how to solve the issue? Fyi: I am using LR 5.7.1 on MacBook with Mawericks.
Jim, that sounds like a good hypothesis. Yes, I am using smart previews. I have my originals on an external drive which is connected. Still, LR can not find them. Do you know how to tell LR where to find the originals? I would like LR to identify the source automatically: if external drive is connected LR should show "original and smart preview" not only "smart preview". Thanks for your help.

Why won't my macbook pro sleep when I close it?
To anyone who can help:
My macbook pro used to go to sleep mode when I closed the display. Now it does not. Every time I close the display the computer keeps running. If I do not manually put it into sleep mode before I close the display, when I come back to it the battery is dead (obviously given that the power cord is unplugged). I have looked at all the settings in power saver in the system preferences panel, but there are no options regarding sleep mode when the display is shut. This computer is still quite new, I'm running OSX 10.7.4.
Is there a setting I haven't found somewhere?
If not, is there some sort of support that Apple will offer?
