Why won't my NAT say OPEN?

I have a moderate NAT problem that I can't seem to fix. I've been able to get it to open before, but cannot keep it that way, I fiddled with modem settings to get it to open but I don't knowing exactly what I'm doing. I do know, however, that a main reason this happens is from UPnP not being enabled. That's where my modem is having problems. I enable it, but when viewing the device details it lists the device as not being UPnP enabled. So, its enabled, but not on the devices. If someone could please help and let me know what could be conflicting UPnP from actually being enabled I would greatly appreciate it and your time. Thanks

#1 Do you have at least two game consoles behind this router?
By Game console, a special type of computer that does not have a keyboard or mouse (and it/they are usually connected to a TV).

Why won't Photoshop Elements 12 open?

After being away for 3 months, I attempted to open and use PSE 12 and it does not open. Today I uninstalled and reinstalled thinking that would help, but it doesn't. It appears as though it's going to open, but the little "streaming" just stops. Your assistance in resolving this problem is greatly appreciated.

I am not a technician so I can't go too deep in the analysis... I did all I could imagine to do, I would like that somebody from Adobe would take care of this issue finding solution to the problem.

Why won't some pdf-files open on tablet/phone?

I simply get the error saying: The document cannot be opened because it's not a valid pdf-document.
However I have no problems opening the file with my laptop, only my phone and tablet (Jellybean 4.2.2) won't open it.
My friends also have managed to open the file on their tablets (android/windows).
Have reinstalled and checked updates and tried other programs but none has worked for me.
I simply have no clue and would appreciate help.

Seems like the problem was in the web browser I was using, as the file just
didn't download correctly.

Why won't my Adobe Bridge Open? I keep getting an error message. I first installed the free trial of Illustrator CS 6, but a few days ago joined the creative cloud. I would just uninstall & reinstall Bridge, but its not in the list of apps to install. Since joining the cloud I have also installed photoshop & indesign. Doesn't Adobe have chat support? I used in when first signing up for Cloud. Now I can't find it.

Bridge gets installed along with other programs (like Illustrator or Photohop) so it might require uninstalling all CS6 products to be able to reinstall it.
I would uninstall all CS6 products and then reinstall one which includes Bridge from a new user account and test to see if you still get the error.

Why won't movie trailer files open in Quicktime

Each time I try to open a movie trailer file in my Quick time pro I see a down load window with a small X box at the top left hand of the window.
Why won't these files open. When I go to the same files in Itune Store I have no difficulty downloading and playing

I had a similar problem a few weeks ago, but nobody gave me a reply. I don't know if it helps in your case, but I eventually found out it was my firewall blocking the download.

The best way to get contacts into a table in the new version of Numbers is to copy them from the "Contacts" application and paste into Numbers. In the previous version of Numbers you dragged contacts from Numbers (version 2.3) and dropped them on a sheet in Numbers.

Why won't my Aperture 3 open?

My Aperture 3 library will not open. Upon clicking the application icon, "Aperture" appears in the menu bar and a gray box says "Opening Aperture Library_Old." The program then becomes unresponsive after a few seconds, and I have to force quit it.
I have reinstalled Aperture and installed Software Updates.
One support forum mentioned I should delete the user preferences: com.apple.Aperture.plist. However, when going to ~/Library/Preferences that .plist file is not there.

Is "Aperture Library_Old" the name of your working Aperture Library that you want to open?
If not, then select the library you really want to open in the Finderand open it by double clicking it.
If you cannot open it this way, use the Aperture Library Fiirst Aid on your library like you tried before, but do it by selecting the library you want to open and double clicking while holding down the cmd-aoption keys,
If all of this does not work, try to create a new, empty library, to see if Aperture is still working. Double click the Aperture Application while holding down the shift-key.

Why won't MS Word '98 open?

Hello to everyone..
My problem is this ... every time I go near Word, the screen freezes with the opening logo ie. "Word '98 for Macintosh" .. the watch icon comes up as if it's going to open it and can still be moved over the screen, but cannot be clicked with any effect. I am truly illiterate when it comes to the whys and wherefores, but I would appreciate some help with this. As far as I know I have not done anything differently.

Disk First Aid was the first thing I tried when the problem arose .. I meant that Word was initialising .. not the hard drive .. is that what it does? Well, I thought when it began doing that, it was about to open .. that was after I removed all the MS, Office and MS office prefs like you suggested, but then it crashed .. Word that is! So I did Disk First Aid again .. and have rebuilt the desktop several times .. First Aid says that everything seems to be ok. GRRRRR!! How can I find a corrupted file if Disk Aid tells me that everything is ok?

Why won't my .indd files open?

Hey this is a showstopper for my project.
All of a sudden, I cannot open any (except 1) of the 12 .indd files making up my Book.
The error message says:
"Cannot Open File"
"Cannot open Lesson.indd. Please upgrade your plug-ins to their latest versions, or upgrade to the latest version of indesign."
Then it presents a long list of plug-ins.
I am am doing this project in CS4, but I also have CS5 30-day trial installed, and the CS4 files have been opened inadvertently in CS5, but up until this moment that hasn't caused a problem.

I think what happened is that I opened the indb accidentally in CS5, didn't realize it, then tried to export the book to PDF from the bookfile (indb), Then it was taking too long, plus I then realized the error of my ways, so I Force Quit CS5. I'm thinking maybe because all the files were "open" during the export attempt, the forced quit somehow made the system think they were CS5 files. Anyway, I'm currently (happily) opening each in CS5, exporting to IDML, opening in CS 4 and saving. I don't even mind that it takes a while for each one.
ps I do have a back-up system, but it takes a while for retrieval, so that's why I'm converting manually.

Why won't my pages documents open?

So recently I tried to open up pages. If I click on the icon on the bottom, it won't work. It also has a weird black ring around the top. When I try to open up any other pages documents through Finder I get a message saying "the document "____" could not be opened. The file isn't in the correct format."
How do I fix this??? Help please!!!!!

If you bought it on disk then it was installed inside the iWork folder inside the Applications folder. If it is no longer there and Pages documents no longer open then you have apparently managed to trash it.
Reinstall from the DVD is probably the fastest way to get it all back working, make sure you update iWork after the install, the DVD version will not be the latest.
It sounds also like you need to learn more about using your Mac. There are classes at the AppleStore and also tutorials in the general Support section of Apple's website, the one you see before you get into these communities.

Why won't my imovie file open?

Please someone help me!! I am doing a school project and as I was about to upload my project file from imovie to my desktop, the whole thing shut down. My file is lost, and I can only find a corrupted version of the file, which is probably an earlier version, and it won't open. How do I get back my finished project?
I have tried deleting the preferences and opening the corrupted file in bbedit and so far, nothing has worked. My computer says it is opening the file, as the properties have changed and it shows a more recent time that this file has been opened.
If anyone could help, that would be much apprectaited!

Essentially the same thing. I double click on the Adobe Shortcut on my desktop, and it opens up for a minute, the blue circle spins and then it just closes. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, downgrading to adobe 9.4 and nothing seems to work.
