Why won't my original iPad update past IOS 5.1.1
I purchased an iPad when they first came out and my IOS has always updated when a new version came out however right now its version 5.1.1 and it says my IOS is up to date but I now have APPS that say I need an updated IOS. I tried connecting wired to my PC and iTunes but no difference in results
The iPad 1 will not go further than 5.1.1 because the hardware can not accommodate the newer software.

Your iPhone is connected to your computer but are you using iTunes to try to update or are you looking at the Settings>General>Software update button in the phone?
If you are not, I suggest you connect to iTunes and try to download and install iOS 6.1.3. using iTunes and the computer's internet connection. Also check that you have the latest version of iTunes installed in your computer. -

IT's because of the system specifcations are probarly not able to handle the new requirements for the iOS 6+ if you want/need those applications you'll have to purchase a new iPad

That's right, it can't and won't. If you read the tech descriptions of the OS you'll stumble across some section called "iOS 6 Is Compatible With ...", which will not include the original iPad.

I defenitely like the quality of Apple, no discussion!! however I have quite some hardware (PC's, tablets, phones, laptops) some on windows some on Android, and of course my iPad-1 on iOS5.
It's not about the OS.
Untill now I never had to change/replace my complete hardware...Okay maintenance is needed and every software comes to an end. But one of my laptops still works on windows (12 years old)... It's not the fastest one but works with all the installed software. The iPad is only on the market since 2010 (27th januari to be precise!!).....talking about the duration of support.......
Anyway, I stick to my opinion that commercially it's not a good thing (at least not for me) with the current pricing of so called new hardware.... -

I have an iPad original that is currently running iOS 5.1.1 that says it is currently up to date, however apps that need to be updated say they can't without iOS 6 or higher. I have even restored it back to its factory settings and still nothing. Has my apple product become obsolete??
It's incapable of running iOS 6 or newer, or application versions which require iOS 6.

Apply the update using iTunes from your computer instead.

Also, since updating to 5.1.1 Safari frequently crashes. Help!!!!!!5.1.1. is the end of the line for the original iPad. You can't go beyond that. As for the safari crashes, is it tied to specific websites? Have you tried clearing the cache and history?

dng converter and cr are two different programs.
while they both do the same thing, the dng converter is a stand-alone app that does not install into another adobe program and cr installs into another adobe app like photoshop, lightroom etc.
and the latest version (as of 6/25/14) is cr 8.5.
download the dng converter is you have an app that's to old to accept cr 8.2 (or cr 8.5).
