Why won't my pages print properly?

What have I done to my application that would cause style elements to be stripped from my content when I print a page? For the sake of example, I created a new page, then created a new html region on that page. The html region has a few tables in it, with all of the style attributes defined inline.
When I run the page, it works as it should, and appears like this: http://img714.imageshack.us/img714/8559/screenrr.png

Look at browser settings: most browsers have a default setting whereby background colours aren't printed, for better legibility and to save ink/toner. e.g. IE7: check the option Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Settings > Printing > Print background colors and images. Firefox and Safari have options in the Print dialogs.

Back up all data.
If Adobe Reader or Acrobat is installed, there should be a setting in its preferences such as Display PDF in Browser. I don't use those applications myself, so I can't be more precise. Deselect that setting, if it's selected. Otherwise do as follows.
Triple-click the line of text below on this page to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):

In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste into the text box that opens (command-V), then press return.
From the folder that opens, remove any items that have "Adobe" or “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari, and test.
The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can also interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it as well, if it's present. The same goes for a plugin called "iGetter," and perhaps others.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again.

When you say hit and miss do you mean sometimes you print a whole document with no problems, or do you mean each document has problems? This is from HP's website for your printer:
Your sig says 10.6.7 but your message says 10.7. So if it's really Lion, this printer isn't officially supported. Elsewhere on HP's site it says updated drivers will be available on your Mac via Software Update. Have you run that recently?

It's up to the printer manufacturer to provide an app for printing from. Many do, and any support AirPrint which is what iOS devices use for printing.
It's not Apple's job to create printer drivers for every third party printer on the market. Printer manufacturers provide drivers with their products.

Has power and is turned on. If it has power, turn the printer off and then on again to see if that resolves the issue.
Is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the iOS device.
Has the latest firmware version installed.
Has paper with enough ink or toner installed.
Is free of any errors displayed on the printer's control panel.

Why aren't my pages printing to fit the page? HP Officejet 4622

When printing from cell phone with hp eprint app, or ipad2 with hp eprint app and/or airprint, the pages printed are much smaller then 8" x 11". I have checked all the settings (actual printer and phone/ipad app settings) and everything says it is set to print on 8" x 11" which is the same size paper i have in the printer. However the pages are only being printed out at about 6" x 8". The text is very small and the whole page is about 3/4 as small as it should be. I have already changed the settings to print on legal size paper and still no difference
EDIT: i would also like to add that these are attachments im opening up through email into adobe pdf format. i have been playing around with the settings within adobe on my desktop and its still printing much smaller. i select the "Fit to printable area", and played around with the "Choose paper source by PDF page size" and still no difference

I will need a little more information. What type of document are you printing? ePrint prints actual size. Is it an image of a document that you are printing? Have you tried resizing the document?

Snow leopard and pixma problems, why won't bonjour find printer?

I have been a fool, my printer was working fine its a pixma mp990 (its a 3 in 1 scanner), working wirelessly. Then I decide to upgrade to snow leopard. On my imac and macbook, Pixma couldn't be found, so reinstalled on macbook and now it will print. But not the imac. I have re-installed the printer, but all I get in the 'add printer' dialogue box is the Bonjour pixma scanner. No sign of the printer. I know its on the network cos the macbook can see it and windows xp can see it. I thought things like this only happened in windows, but I am really despairing with my mac, there are just so many problems.

Well, the printer works again, after about 4 hours of fiddling about. That just leaves me with a Time Machine error- it won't back up any more. Also I have an Aperture library that won't back up (some sort of error) and an idisc which refuses to sync (don't know why), oh and parallels 3 has been wiped off my computer since upgrading to snow leopard (thanks for that, Apple). And my Huey monitor calibrator doesn't work properly, and my imac mouse refuses to scroll as it should, despite cleaning. So much for getting a Mac because 'it just works'. When I check out my various problems on the interweb I can see dozens of similar problems going back over the months from a variety of people. Drobo is just a pain in the proverbial. Right, which problem shall I deal with first ....

Why won't my timeline play properly in final cut pro?

My timeline of sequences won't play properly it keeps stopping and then a message comes up - turn unlimited rt off, speed up your system. I cannot play clips properly in the viewer or browser either the scrubber keeps stopping and jumping to another place. I never had this problem before - I have enough gb space on my external drive and hard drive where final cut pro is installed. I switched to unlimited rt and this has not solved the problem. Does anybody know what is happening? Many thanks.

Thank you for the advice. I rendered everything but still no change. Then I noticed I had (I don't know how I did this) created 2 other files of the same name so I opened one of them up and it was fine. I deleted the other 2. Why there were problems with one of them I don't know. I am getting confused can someone tell me what are the folders final cut pro creates so that I can organise things. Three files were created when I set the scratch disks media files- capture scratch, render file, audio render these 3 folders are empty and yet there is now a file called render files with a constant frames folder in it with a quicktime cf-dvc appl 720x480 1233017 etc files in it and also another folder called the movie name with a sequence-FIN-0000c file in it and the actual movie in none of these folders just on its own on the drive why is that I thought FCP would put everything in the 3 folders created? It just seems very confusing.
Can someone also tell me why I get a blue line above my clips on the timeline - there seems to be no render colour equivalent.
I am sorry I am a real pain but I have been reading a book about FCP to guide me and it can't be very good so maybe I will use an online tutorial in future. Any comments will be much appreciated.

I have firefox 10.0.2 installed but everytime I open up firefox I get a message that says I am not currently using this version and I need to update to the latest version and why won't firefox support printing mac coupons

my firefox info shows that I am using 10.0.2 but I keep getting a repeated message when I open it saying I'm not using the most recent version.

You may see that message below the Google search box on www.google.com/firefox which is the old Firefox default home page. That page is no longer being maintained by Google.
You should try changing your home page to:
about:home
If you don't know how to change the home page, you should take a look at the Knowledge Base article [[How to set the home page]].

Why won't my networked printer un pause after 10.6.8 update?

I just downloaded and installed the latest 10.6.8 update. Since then every time I send a document to print it automatically pauses the printing and won't restart printing no matter what I do.
I am working on a 3.2 GHz Intel Based 27" iMac. Our networked printer is a Konica Minolta Bizhub C552.
This effects all printing no matter what the program is.
I have removed the printer from the queue and added it back to no avail.

Nevermind.
I found a thread with a solution from Cnet and it worked perfectly. Back up and running.

Why won't Macbook Pro startup properly without external monitor & keyboard?

If I connect a external monitor and keyboard to my late 2011 Macbook Pro (running Lion) it starts up just fine.
But if I try to start it up without these (or any other devices) attached, I get no display on the internal screen and the internal keyboard is ignored (the caps lock light doesn't light up when the key is pressed).
However, I don't think it's a hardware issue, as a PRAM reset seems to work (I get the second chime) indicating that the keyboard is OK. And I get a second or so of grey screen before the screen goes black.
I've tried resetting my SMC and my PRAM. The latter seemed to fix the problem once - but then it came back, and won't go away again this time.
I've also tried starting in safe, single user, and verbose mode, but none of these seem to make any difference.
I've been having some issues installing Windows (under both BootCamp and Parallels) but wouldn't have thought that these were related.

I have solved my own issue, so wanted to post here in case anyone else encounters the same thing.
My Macbook was less than 90 days old, so I booked a telephone support call from Apple. But they couldn't help. So I booked a genius bar appointment. I turned up, powered up my Macbook, and it worked fine!
Since it was working OK, there was nothing for them to investigate (though they ran some basic diagnostics anyway). But as soon as I got home it stopped working again.
Now this was really weird, so I started eliminate anything that was different between the environments - power supply, cooling pad, laptop stand...
My Macbook normally sits on an aluminium cooling pad, which in turns sits on a steel laptop stand. And when sitting on both of these (or just the stand) it exhibited the behaviour above. However, when I put it on a wooden desk it worked fine! So I replaced the aluminium cooler with a gel pad and it still worked fine. But why...?
I also noticed another difference. Once I reconnected an external display and keyboard, I found that my internal display now stayed on - whereas previously it had gone off (with only the external display staying on).
Searching on the internet, I discovered that this was normal behaviour under Lion, and what I had experienced previously was abnormal behaviour when the lid is open - but normal behaviour when the lid is closed. And since Macbooks use magnets to determine whether or not the lid is open, those who preferred the closed lid behaviour were using fridge magnets to fool their Macbooks into behaving that way.
It seems that my stand and/or cooler was acting in the same way as a magnet, and making my Macbook think that the lid was closed. So the internal display stayed off whether or not I had an external display connected. Isolating it from the stand with a gel pad has resolved this issue.
So I guess that Macbooks weren't designed to be used on metal surfaces...

Why won't adobe reader print a .pdf?

I have worked on this Mac at my job for 3 years. Much of my job is online research, and I frequently print .pdf documents, or "Open .pdf In Preview" and select pages to print.
About 2 weeks ago I found that .pdfs would no longer print or Open In Preview. I can still Select the content and copy it to a Word doc and repair the formatting for printing.
But I would really like to just print the .pdf.
How to find out what's wrong? How to fix it?
I have already re-installed Adobe Reader and downloaded the latest version.

Adobe Reader is for reliably viewing, printing, and annotating PDF documents. It’s the only PDF file viewer that can open and interact with all types of PDF content, including forms and multimedia, hence we cannot print documents to PDF using this.
Also, Preview is a default application in Mac used to view and edit images and PDFs. If you are not able to print documents to PDF then the issue is with Preview and I would suggest you to check with Apple.

Im my original reply I mentioned; " The specific printer and print driver will determine if correctly scaled prints are achieved."
Each print driver is different, so you need to check in detail all the settings in the print drivers options.
Try copying the content to a page layout application and print from there; Word, Pages, Indesign, Open Office
