Why won't my purchased music download into itunes on my phone or lap top?

I downloaded several songs from different albums and they won't show up in my itunes on my phone or on my lap top.  It won't let me attempt to redownload the songs because when I look on iTunes it says purchased. Also, when I go to Quick Links on in the iTunes store and clicked on purchased, both on and not on the device, only one of the songs was recovered.  I know that these songs are purchased because I received my iTunes recepit, and it also says it in the iTunes store, but I cannot play them anywhere.  How can I fix this? I feel like I have tried everything I could find.

I have the exact same problem. I downloaded some TV shows this morning with no problem. By noon, I continually get the "connection timed out" message when I try to download some more. I have tried everything I have found on the discussion board so far, rebooted my computer, rebooted my internet router, turned off firewall (also McAfee), verified iTunes is an application allowed full access in my security software, flushed my dns cache, etc. I have 27 downloads waiting.
Apple support was absolutely no help. I emailed them with a full description of the problem including the error code number and I got back an email saying "The iTunes Store is unable to provide technical support".

  • Why won't my purchased music transfer into my songs/albums folders?

I'm using the new format for ITunes for the first time, and have run into an issue. When I purchase songs, they go to my "Playlists" Folder, but when I click on my "songs/albums" folders I just see the picture of the laptop with the options to "Scan for Music" which does nothing, or go to ITunes Store, which does as it says.
The new layout is a bit confusing to me, but I have tried manually adding a file to my library which doesnt add them, and also going from my Purchased Playlist then clicking "Add To" it will bring up my Songs Folder and I can either select the songs and click Done, or not and click done...the songs folder slides away and nothing at all is transferred.
I'm a bit confused, why doesnt it simply add them to your normal library as before in addition to "purchased"? Beyond that, what am I missing in getting them into my library?

And if none of those work, you may want to try this test:
    1. Deauthorize the computer.
    2. Create a new user in the system.
    3. Download the free song of the week from the iTMS in the new user account.
    4. Play the song in that user account to authorize again.
    5. Restore the iPod (using the iPod updater) in the new user account.
    6. Sync just the free song of the week and see if it plays on the iPod.
If it does, you appear to have a corrupted iTunes library file, and you should recreate the iTunes library file in your normal user account, and then sync your music back to the iPod and all should be well.

  • Why won't my purchased music play?

    It went like this:
My sister recommended a song for me to look up, so I did. I liked it and I bought/downloaded it.
After sampling the rest of the songs on the album, I decided to buy the whole thing. I noticed that the price of the album hadn't changed after I paid for the first song (like it usually does), but the difference was 99 cents so I didn't care enough to press the issue. Apple support is nightmare to get ahold of, and my time's worth more than 99 cents.
Anyway, I paid full price for the album and the songs definitely downloaded (including the one song I'd already downloaded, which re-dowloaded).
I synced my iPhone 4s and everything looked well enough.
The music plays on my Macbook Pro just fine.
But when I try to listen to the new music on my phone, the first 3 or 4 songs refuse to play (inlcuding the first song I paid for, and has been downloaded twice.)
    Why?
I deleted the music off my itunes and redownloaded them from the cloud, re-synced, and still the same problem.
    Why?

I deleted the music from my itunes, synced the phone (without transferring purchases), redownloaded the music, then resynced with the newly redownloaded music. Still nothing.
Do you mean resetting as in factory resetting the phone? No, I haven't done that. I was hoping the problem was with the mp3, not my phone or phone's operating system. But I can't seem to find a easy way to ask apple. iTunes' help/support just links me here. If i could email them and ask, that'd be nice. But I don't know how to even do that. Their website is a labyrinth.

  • Having issues with putting purchased music back into iTunes after reinstall

I have been having issues with iTunes closing itself out right after I open it. I deleted the program, then re-installed it, which fixed the problems with quitting. However, I cannot copy my previous library back into iTunes. I saved the iTunes music file and the .xml file to my desktop before uninstalling the program. When I tried to add the music back into iTunes, I keep getting this message: Attempting to copy the disk "Macintosh HD" failed. The disk could not be read from or written to. It does not appear on all songs that I tried to add back, but it happened for quite a few of my purchased songs. Is there any way to fix the files or do I need to download the songs again? I tried running the Disk Utility to repair Permissions, but that has not helped with anything.
I am running iTunes on a MacBook with Mac OS X 10. 4. 11, if that will help with anything.

I had to reinstall Windows XP, erasing everything on the hard disk. I had saved the music files with backup software, so I now have them back. But iTunes won't add them to my library. I tried importing songs from a new CD to see where iTunes put those files, and then copying an album folder into the same location. But Windows wouldn't copy the files inside the foder. Nearly all the songs were originally taken from CDs in my collection, and the songs are still on my iPod Nano.
    Wow,
Wonder why XP won't let you copy files?, perhaps you used a different user name?
Or these are the old DRM versions of the songs? You should be able to log into your iTunes account and authorize the computer and iTunes should recognize the songs.
Well since you have the iPod Nano, you can head over to iLounge and ask them what current third party software works to move your iPod Nano music back to iTunes.
Hope that works out for you

  • Internet Music Downloads into Itunes

Has anyone had any experience using one of the internet download sites such as livewire into itunes?

As long as it's a standard music file format (mp3, WAV, AIFF, etc.) iTunes should recognize and play it.

  • Why won't quicktimes and mpegs import into iTunes?

I'm trying to make a playlist of videos in iTunes. Several of my movies won't import when I drag and drop them. Some were created in Final Cut Pro 7 as basic MOV. One is an MPEG I received frome someone. Why won't they import?

Sorry, I assumed that you were shooting RAW + jpg.  What I think you are now saying is that you have a shoot in which some of the files were shot in RAW and some in jpg?  In that case, I don't know why it would only import RAW on the first go round and jpgs on the second. When I have mixed files (I shoot only RAW, but panoramas  are by definition only jpgs), they all import on the first try. In fact, even video files come in at the same time.
If you did shot RAW+Jpg then you could either check the box, in which case you will see two files, or uncheck it, in which case you will see one (with the other hidden). But since that's not the case, that check box doesn't apply to you.
Right.  Most of my shots are jpegs.  But on rare occasions, I want a RAW file so I hit the RAW button on the X100 and then shoot RAW for one shot.  This last import I had 10-15 RAW shots and they would not import along with all the jepgs.  This happens everytime I have mixed file formats.  Very frustrating.
    Thanks for trying!

Are you using the same apple ID and password?
it seems all is in order, but perhaps the password isn't valid.
if the reset didn't work, try signing out of iTunes and App Store, then back in.
have you tried going to App Store - purchased and tapping on the cloud icon for the apps you want?   You will still be asked for your password.

Sorry. There's nothing anyone can do. The current version of the facebook app will not run on 4.2.1. The iPhone 3G won't run anything higher than 4.2.1. You're stuck.
Maybe it's time to buy yourself a new iPod Touch.
