I just found and removed a small piece of sticky tape which was covering the mic. The mic is on the top surface of a mac - you can only just see a lighter coloured small round circle in line with the camera on the top narrow surface. My problem was sorted despite all other help and just before I gave up. Check no-one has posted a sticky message, camera cover or even an ornament over your mic. How many folk know where the mic is?

As said in the title Why won't the Avatar Interactive Desktop work on Windows xp SP3. I have tried everything (uninstalling AIR, reinsalling it etc) I can think of but nothing makes it work. This image shows what I get in return every time I try to install the app. My PC meets all requirements to run Adobe AIR. Why is this occuring? I have the current version of AIR.

If you could provide the Model No of the old Express.....look on the side of the Express for this.....it will be something like "A x x x x"

If you could provide the version of AirPort Utility that you are using.....open AirPort Utility, click on the AirPort Utility menu in the upper left corner of the screen, then click About AirPort Utility to locate the version number

If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem. Likely a bad digitizer.

When I was downloading 8 different purchased TV shows, all episodes of seasons I've purchased, one,5th on the list wouldn't download sighting err=8003. I retried many times with the same result. All the others downloaded before and after. Help?

So I received the 30G Video IPod for Xmas. Like it a
lot. I have the most current version of ITunes. I
purchased two tv shows and one music video on ITunes.
I synced the iPod. Had sync all movies selected.
It synced the TV shows, synced a few other movies
that came with albums (Blue Orchid by White Stripes
Video for example). BUT the music video I had just
purchased won't sync. I tried a few tricks, created
a playlist, etc.. but the movie section wouldn't
even see the playlist. I tried putting the video in
a music playlist but it wouldn't sync there either.
How do I set up Movie Playlists so that they are
recognized by ITunes? Any idea why that vid won't
sync?

I have been having a similar issue with my TV shows. For example, I have the entire 2nd season of Lost and iTunes is syncing the episodes in whatever order it "feels like" {for lack of a better term} usually skipping large portions of the episodes which I had not watched, I even confirmed that the play counts were 0 and that I was syncing the most recent 5 unwatched episodes and it didn't work. It also did this with Beavis and Butt-head as well. What I ended up having to do is setting up the iPod to sync only checked items and then manually checking and unchecking the items I wanted and did not want to sync, and this fixed the issue.

I paid & download angry birds to my windows 7 desktop but it won't play! what the H..ll? if the app no longer works properly why is it still in the Itunes store??? sigh! if the game no longer works I'd like a refund ASAP, but I'm hoping someone in this camunity can help me before I request a refund can any of you help me?

Why won't the Totals in Desktop work?

I have a number of sheets that need to have totals. The report is a breakdown of staff numbers by religious belief and location/age band/directorate etc (one sheet for each).
The report takes items from three different folders and the uses a count of staff number. When I use the Grand total option in Discoverer based on SUM of the count of SE numbers it does nothing.
Any ideas as to where I'm going wrong and how I can fix this?

Totals generally do not display for one of two reasons:
1. There is a fault in your code that prevents a total from being calculated - such as the presence of a NULL value
2. Discoverer is protecting you from yourself by not generating results that would be in error - such as cartesian joins or replicated items
A couple of things to try are:
1. Switch the formula for the calculation from SUM to CELL SUM
2. Change the Aggregation tab settings on the Options screen (use Tools | Options) and drop it down a notch from using the default to the next one on the list (show the values that cannot be aggregated) - if this doesn't work try dropping it down to the lowest level (show the sum in the contributing cells)
3. If you still have a problem it could be that you have duplicated items - out of the box Discoverer won't sum these
To solve the duplicated items problem requires you add a new setting to your registry called AllowAggregationOverRepeatedValues. There is a good note about this on MetaLink called Subtotals and Grand Totals Showing Blanks in Discoverer Desktop as note number: 358707.1

I would like a font that works for me in Photoshop to also be available in DVDSP. Why can't I access the same font in DVDSP that I can in PS?

Without knowing a lot about font folders, I do know there are several in MacOSX, and it could be that Photoshop is reading from one that DVDSP isn't. This tends to happen when an application is installed for just one user as opposed to all users on the system.
You have font folders in at least five locations, including your root library, system/library, user/library, root/library/application support/adobe and user/library/applicationsupport/adobe.
With all of that it's likely there will be some fonts not available to some applications.
But I am no expert on fonts and how they get used... sorry!

Why won't the google webfont Arimo work in Edge Inspect on Android?

I've got the webfont Arimo in my site from google.com/fonts using the CSS include - it works in chrome and firefox on Mac, in Edge Inspect on iPad, but not in Edge Inspect on Android. Instead, I get what looks like Roboto - a narrow width sans. Is there anything I can do to get this working properly? The font also works in Chrome on android.
Is Edge Inspect using the Android browser? It's version 4.3.1, if that helps.

Alright, I figured this out. Apparently Android Browser is what Edge Inspect uses behind the scenes - someone correct me if that's wrong. The web fonts won't load in my android browser unless I specify the SVG version only. So, to work around this for now, I've put the svg version in my media queries for medium and small devices. Not a kludge I like, but it works. Chalk this one up to an issue with Android Browser.
