Why won't Photoshop save anything?

For some reason Photoshop won't save anything. I'm using the older CS6 version. It was working previously but one day it went kaput. When I go to save something, no dialog comes up and Photoshop is pretty much frozen. I can click to bring the Photoshop program into the foreground but I keep getting that error sound. I have to kill it and restart, but it gives me the same problem. I reinstalled from my CS6 DVD but that won't help either.

Since you mention it suddenly stopped working, I suggest resetting the Photoshop preference file: Hold Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Opt+Shift as you initiate Photoshop's startup. Select "yes" when asked if you would like to continue with reset.

Why won't Photoshop save Spot Channels?

Okay so I've always had this issue. I have some of my files as Spot Channels, some as Alpha, I save it, but I go to close it says the file isn't saved correctly. If I save over it, it's fine when I open it back up, if I don't then the Alpha Channels are there but the Spot aren't. I've mostly just dealt with this because it always asks and I couldn't find a quick solution. I've recently upgraded to CC and the other day it didn't ask, which fortunately I was able to fix the file but was still a pain. So now I'm worried about losing part of my files. Why does it do that? How can I fix it? I'd rather not have to convert back to Alpha Channels if I don't have to. I am running Yosemite, but it's done that for years. Thanks.

Oh and Spot Channels IS checked when I hit Save As.

Why won't Photoshop CC run on my laptop I just installed it today. I signed out on my desktop but the laptop still will not run Photoshop CC. It starts but then closes itself down immediately after starting.

Well it is the same Win7 that is running on my desktop and yes I have an internet connection and at that time is was hard wired not wireless. I just downloaded and installed the Photoshop and Bridge Apps. The laptop is about 2 yrs old and it is a high end machine and Photoshop6 runs on it just fine. I sure wish someone from Adobe would answer this question as it is beyond frustrating to me that this stuff works so poorly and you can never get a good answer out of them about anything ever.

I've solved it!
When you have saved the stationery, and opened a new email, make sure you have NO SIGNATURE.
If you have 'None' in the signature drop down list, then the template will display fine.
If you have a signature automatically added to emails, it interferes with the template being displayed and all you get is the signature.
So start with a blank email and no signature, before you select your custom-saved stationery.

Why won't Photoshop Elements 12 open?

After being away for 3 months, I attempted to open and use PSE 12 and it does not open. Today I uninstalled and reinstalled thinking that would help, but it doesn't. It appears as though it's going to open, but the little "streaming" just stops. Your assistance in resolving this problem is greatly appreciated.

I am not a technician so I can't go too deep in the analysis... I did all I could imagine to do, I would like that somebody from Adobe would take care of this issue finding solution to the problem.

if you have a problem dl'g, you didn't follow all 7 steps. the most common error involves failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).

I just found the answer, I think. In Safari > Preferences > Security under Internet Plugings, click the "Manage Websites" button. Find Silverlight and select it to run in "Unsafe Mode."

Why won't photoshop let me save my images that I edit?

I have photoshop CS6 and am on a Mac. The photos that I am trying to edit are ones that I have taken and uploaded but everytime I try to save them after editing, I get this message, "the file is locked, you do not have necessary access permissions, or another program is using the file." Why? There is no other program using the file, I am the only one who has permission. I drag the lock icon into the trash but that doesn't do anything. How do I fix this?

Photoshop is just reporting an error that the OS returned.
Yes, there is a problem with permissions, or another application is using the file (which can include the Finder, due to some bugs in the Finder).
You will have to troubleshoot the directory to make sure you have permission to save there, and double check that no other application is using the file.

Why won't Photoshop CS6/CC save my preferences?

Each time I open Photoshop, I load an image and use my scroll wheel to zoom and I have to go back and re-do my preferences. No preferences are ever saved. Anyone have a solution?

Have you set your preferences, then gracefully Quit the application?
If in doing so, the preferences are lost next time you open it, that kind of implies Photoshop isn't able to write data to its own preference files, which in turn implies a permissions issue. I've often seen people advise "fixing permissions" or even creating a new user account on the system to deal with that.
I'm not sure why you mention using your scroll wheel to zoom, but know that the zoom level is not saved as a preference.

I'm wanting to know how to fix this issue? Each time I create actions it has the "Save Actions" selection grayed out. So every time photoshop decides to have a fit and kill on itself all my actions are wiped out then I have to recreate them, rinse and repeat. Help? How can I save them?

Never mind I found it out finally searching. If any one else wonders if you click an individual action and try it will gray out the save action button, you have to click the folder the action is in then click "save action". Something about not being able to save actions individually, but only in groups.

In PS Elements 9, I have imported and manually entered email addresses into the contact book, but when I return to use them they are gone. AM I doing anything wrong or is there a fix for this?

I too have the same problem. It has been that way since
my first elements version 5.
MS outlook is selecteted in preferences and still when I inport MS outlook contacts and work through the phoney missing 1st mname and finally get 475 contacts entered, that import lasts oly as long as Orgainzer is in the share mode. The contacts are not being saved.
I cannot beleive that ADOBE has not fixed this problem. I an runnig Vista home premium on a dell studio with a lot of ram and much processor speed..

I just did a clean install of 10.6, and Mail won't save custom stationery I try to create. It does create the Custom category and shows what I saved there, but the text I entered is missing - only my signature shows up. The message has several of Mail's bulleted lists, but that shouldn't cause a problem. There are no graphics at all in my stationery.
Does anyone have any idea why this is happening? Any help would be appreciated.
