Why won't Photoshop use my Wacom preferences?

OK, so this is going to be a bit of a back story because I think I know what part of the problem is...I just don't know how to fix it.
I recently downloaded Photoshop CC onto my computer. I already had a copy of PS CS3 on there. When it installed, it asked if I wanted to use my settings from that. Not seeing a problem, I said "yes". And things were fine. But I wanted to change the Hotkey settings on my Cintiq for CC to be different from CS3. When I tried to change them in System Preferences, however, it didn't work. The settings saved, but they still used the same settings as CS3. I changed the settings in CS3 and those came over to CC. So, clearly it is referring to CS3 for preference. So I uninstalled CS3 and removed its settings from System Preferences. So CC defaults back to the general shortcuts for the Cintiq. I tried to add it back into the Applications with special keys and it still isn't working.
My guess is it is still looking to CS3 for settings, but I don't know what I need to do to get it to stop doing that. I really just wanted to keep my unique brushes. Does anyone know how I can remove the connection or even just get this to stop?

Have you set preferences in your Wacom configuration for each version of Photoshop you have installed. It hard to do when you have several versions of Photoshop installed wnat mant hace the same icon, I have 6 versions installed. Wacom configuration need setting and path for each install.
Even when I edit the saver Preferences and change the short names I can not get all six showinr in the preference panel.????\

Why won't Photoshop Elements 12 open?

After being away for 3 months, I attempted to open and use PSE 12 and it does not open. Today I uninstalled and reinstalled thinking that would help, but it doesn't. It appears as though it's going to open, but the little "streaming" just stops. Your assistance in resolving this problem is greatly appreciated.

I am not a technician so I can't go too deep in the analysis... I did all I could imagine to do, I would like that somebody from Adobe would take care of this issue finding solution to the problem.

Help why won't photoshop let me edit my photos anymore?

Why won't photoshop let me edit my photos I am a photographer and my photos need more editing but photoshop will open the tools but nothing happens with any of the tools!

Why won't Photoshop CC run on my laptop I just installed it today. I signed out on my desktop but the laptop still will not run Photoshop CC. It starts but then closes itself down immediately after starting.

Well it is the same Win7 that is running on my desktop and yes I have an internet connection and at that time is was hard wired not wireless. I just downloaded and installed the Photoshop and Bridge Apps. The laptop is about 2 yrs old and it is a high end machine and Photoshop6 runs on it just fine. I sure wish someone from Adobe would answer this question as it is beyond frustrating to me that this stuff works so poorly and you can never get a good answer out of them about anything ever.

if you have a problem dl'g, you didn't follow all 7 steps. the most common error involves failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).

Photoshop can only see what your video card driver reports.
You might want to update your video card driver from the GPU maker's website.

Why won't Photoshop CS6/CC save my preferences?

Each time I open Photoshop, I load an image and use my scroll wheel to zoom and I have to go back and re-do my preferences. No preferences are ever saved. Anyone have a solution?

Have you set your preferences, then gracefully Quit the application?
If in doing so, the preferences are lost next time you open it, that kind of implies Photoshop isn't able to write data to its own preference files, which in turn implies a permissions issue. I've often seen people advise "fixing permissions" or even creating a new user account on the system to deal with that.
I'm not sure why you mention using your scroll wheel to zoom, but know that the zoom level is not saved as a preference.

Why won't Photoshop CS5 use available memory before scratch?

I've given PS CS5 access to 80% of machine memory (about 8.5 out of 12 GB). Yet, it only seems to use (at most) 3.5 GB of ram, while using 1 or more GB of scratch disk.
I had hoped that with lots of memory, I'd avoid using scratch. Am I misinterpreting what I'm seeing? Is there something I need to do to get the behaviour I want (i.e. don't use scratch until low on ram)?

I was going to say "less crash resistant" does seem kind of accurate.
Now, to be fair, Since PS CS5 is new I've been pushing things, testing with very large files, stitching huge panos, etc. to test the limits of CS5, but it IS unfortunately proving to be more flaky than I'd like (on an otherwise rock solid Windows 7 x64 system). I've seen CS5 just disappear when tweaking settings on a raw file, I've seen Windows report that both the 32 and 64 bit versions have "stopped working" on various occasions, etc. Fortunately CS4 trained me to save more often than I had been with earlier versions, so I haven't lost any major work yet.
Regarding the OP's comment... The one thing I've noticed with CS5 and big files is that the software doesn't seem to be waiting on the disk nearly as much. So I guess I'd advise not worrrying about what it puts on disk, as it doesn't actually seem to be stalling for memory.

Why won't Photoshop save anything?

For some reason Photoshop won't save anything. I'm using the older CS6 version. It was working previously but one day it went kaput. When I go to save something, no dialog comes up and Photoshop is pretty much frozen. I can click to bring the Photoshop program into the foreground but I keep getting that error sound. I have to kill it and restart, but it gives me the same problem. I reinstalled from my CS6 DVD but that won't help either.

Since you mention it suddenly stopped working, I suggest resetting the Photoshop preference file: Hold Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Opt+Shift as you initiate Photoshop's startup. Select "yes" when asked if you would like to continue with reset.

Why won't Photoshop CS2 won't open after installation.

I've had Creative Suite Premium installed on my laptop for years and not had problems. I installed it on my home desktop and the activation was accepted. All other Suite programs work but Photoshop only goes so far as the blue window and the hourglass just sits there. I'm working with XP Pro and when I open Task Manager Photoshop is shown as not responding. I've tried to repair with the installation disk and I've tried to uninstall/reinstall twice but nothing seems to help.
Since I put the Suite on my laptop, the Installation disks have been on my book shelf. What could possibly be preventing Photoshop from opening?

You either have to physically delete (or rename) the preference files or, if using the Alt, Ctrl, and Shift method, be sure that you get a confirmation dialog.
This resets all settings in Photoshop to factory defaults. A complete uninstall/re-install will not affect the preferences and a corrupt file there may be causing the problem.

Why won't photoshop CS6 download camera raw 8.2?

I am running Lightroom 5 and Photoshop CS6. I have been getting the error message that I need the camera raw plug-in 8.2 to run CS6 (Canon Eos 5D Mk III). I cannot open raw files directly into Photoshop, and Lightroom is not working to edit file in Photoshop as I have started loading all my photos onto a NAS (which seems now to have been a total waste of time). I hope to get a better Thunderbolt system in the next few months but this was a short term solution to the number of external drives that I had accumulated.
Back to the problem- the plug-in does not appear when I run updates in CS6, yet I need the plug-in, and I cannot seem to find somewhere to download it independently. This is very frustrating with many files to process. I have just updated to Mavericks as the desktop could not run LR5 (ughhh) this has been a trial.
Any help would be appreciated.

I have been using Lightroom since it was first created. I am a very experienced Lightroom user, and I just updated to version 5 with my new Canon Eos 5D Mk II (I have used every 5 series camera too).
THERE IS NO LINK AVAILABLE FOR THIS AND THAT IS THE PROBLEM. CS6 SAYS IT IS UP TO DATE, LIGHTROOM SAYS IT IS NOT.
LIGHTROOM SAYS THAT I NEED THAT FILE. I HAVE BEEN SELECTING ‘IGNORE’ OR RENDER WITH LIGHTROOM ADJUSTMENTS DEPENDING ON THE COMPUTER THAT I AM ON.
What I don’t understand is why is lightroom saying that i need the plug-in for my camera, CS6 says my software is up to date, and mostly THERE IS NO PLACE WHERE I CAN SIMPLY DOWNLOAD THE PLUG-IN TO FIX THE PROBLEM.
I am mostly annoyed about the last part- there is no place to simply download the plugin- hence I am writing here, and from what I have read online I am not the only person with this complaint. When I get a moment I will try the link to download it, but as I mentioned, why is it not available as there is obviously a glitch here.
Obviously I am a very frustrated user because the software is not updating and your site does not have the download available so the problem can be simply fixed. I find it a little offensive that you would suggest that I have the problem, and that I don’t know how to use the software, when I am pointing out clearly that there is a software issue here. And trust me, i understand the difference in the options but the fact the plugin does not show up as an update in CS6 (where you say it will be and how it should be installed), is the real issue.

I tried uploading a picture the same way but the browsing styles are diffrent. so i tried both browsing styles with the same picture and each one wouldnt let me upload it and it said it was the wrong format. the format was .JPG and .PNG both wouldnt work. why wont it? please help.

You need to use proper terminology or no one will be able to help you.
Opening an image into Photoshop is not "uploading". The term "uploading" implies copying something from one computer to another, more powerful one, such as a server. And there is no "Browse" button in Photoshop CS5 as far as I know.
Perhaps more proper/accurate terminology (assuming I've derived what you are trying to do correctly) would be:
You want to open an image on your hard drive into the Photoshop application as a document so that you can edit it.
Now you need to describe exactly how you are trying to do that, and what's not working as you expect it to (including a description of what you expect).
Are you dragging images into Photoshop, for example? From where? An Explorer Window? Bridge? If so, what folder are you pointed to?
Perhaps capturing your screen right where you're seeing the problem, saving it as a JPEG, and posting it here would be the most direct way to answer all these questions.
