Why won't swf file play embedded videos?

I created a swf file in inDesign. I embedded 3 videos within the document, all of which are embedded (stored on my host's server). I created the videos in Premiere Pro, saving them as H.264 (mp4), with sound codec AAC. I placed each video on its appropriate page in inDesign using the media dialogue box, choosing a poster image and a set of controls that become visible when hovered over. The swf file I placed onto a webpage in Adobe Muse, then uploaded that page to its host. When the website comes up, and I click on the page that holds the swf file, it looks good ... I have page-turning applied, and that works fine. But, when I go to click on a video, the frame just disappears.
Here's the caveat: After saving the swf file, I opted for it to open in my browser window. When inspecting the file in the browser, the videos work fine.
I have opened the webpage in Chrome, Firefox & IE, but the videos won't play.

Please help, if you can. I would hate to have to start over by rebuilding every single page in inDesign file inside of Muse (since Muse can't take a PDF file. I thought about saving each ID page as a jpg, then building a fullscreen slideshow in Muse, then placiing each page inside of the slideshow presentation .. then writing html code into those jpg pages in order to link my videos from vimeo or youtube ... but I dont' want to go that route. I've put in way too many hours as it is.

It easier to see why the file might not be playing on the server if you provide a link to the file on the server. That allows for checking if files are where they should be.
In your case you may want to do some repairs on the html file that you linked. It appears as though the tags are out of whack and possibly the embedding is as well. What you should do is let Flash generate the html page when you publish the swf. You are normally going to get the best results letting Flash create the embedding code.

Why won't stereo files play on IOS devices?

I'm recording messages in stereo on an iMac using QuickTime that coming from a sound board that's connected through the "line In" port on the computer.
When I Play the file back it sounds fine in QuickTime.
I send it to our editor online and they download to their computer and it sounds fine. After editing the file in GarageBand, they play it and it sounds fine but when they upload it to our website, publish it and then test it on an iOS device, the audio is all garbled and unintelligible.
I asked someone about this and they said "IOS devices can't play stereo unless they have a stereo speaker connected".
SO
I'm wondering how itunes sold millions of stereo songs if all those IOS devices can't play them on their mono speaker? right?
Does anyone know why this would happen?

Perhaps they are above CD quality. The iPod classic should be able to play .wav files with 44.1 kHz 16-bit samples. Mileage with other bitrates may vary.

I have an .mp4 file that was created as a compilation from several .avi files, and converted using oxelon. It plays in quicktime ver 7.6 and it plays within iTunes 8.1. When I drag it to my nano in iTunes it says it can't be added because it can't be played on the nano. Why would this be?

Ok, for those stumbling on this thread with the same issue, I found an answer.
If you right click on the movie (but ONLY when in list-view--oddly the options don't show when it's in thumbnail view), there is an option "Convert to iPod or iPhone version". It takes a long, long time but it works.
I wondered though, instead of the nasty "This can't be played on the nano!", why wouldn't Apple put up a message ....oh, I don't know...something like "This needs to be converted, would you like iTunes to convert it for you?"
No, I didn't see that message...I just saw the nasty message. No helpful suggestions. Hmmm.
Just food for thought for any Apple people who might want their products to gain a reputation as 'user friendly'...

So just as of recently my computer has been acting kind of silly where it wont play any of the youtube videos
i choose. Its doing a lot of "buffering" i guess. i dont know what the problem is- help?

All purchased music appears in my account and the message states that all purchases have been downloaded to my laptop. Certain files will not play from my library and I get a message stating the original file cannot be located. When I go back to "purchased", the song is listed and an abbreviated version can be played from this list. What do I do?

Thank you for your detailed question. It sounds like the real issue is pdf files. Are there any antivirus/firewalls that might be blocking this specific file type? or are there any preferences in your control panel that might be blocking this?

Flash wont play embedded videos only on some accounts

Here is my system and software configuration. Windows7 - IE8 32 bit -- latest Flash version. Flash plays embedded videos under administrator account but not on the other user accounts. Youtube and tests on adobe site shows flash working on all accounts. I've checked IE security settings and kill bit in the registry. Harware acceleration does not make a difference. I've unloaded and loaded Flash multiple times even in the other accounts changing account type to administrator temporarily. Nothing will make it work. I've checked firewall and Norton AV turning them on and off. I am out of ideas and out of patience. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi, just wanted to tell this is exactly the same problems I have. And I have tested like you said. My administrator user account can show embeded videos correctly, but both my non-adm user account can not show correctly embeded. And tried to change non-adm account to adm - did not help.
System: Vista home, IExplorer 9
Videos on Youtube.com plays perfect and the adobe "about" flash page shows I have installed latest and I see a spinning logo with my non-adm users.
I have also checked the kill-bit in registery.
But I did find out something, unfortunally it's not a solution, but a clue what's going on - I hope.
If I open this example webpage, all I can see are 2 blank frames and a icon in upper left corner.
If I open same weblink with my adminastror, I can see the videos.

After alot of search on the web, I found some ideas. Copy the below text and save it as "test.html", and open the file in IExplorer. This html text is a mix of collected html-text from above webpage and added some from youtube.com where you get the html-code to copy&paste to embed. The source at end is using IFRAME methode.
The only visible embeded sources using my non-adm account are those that has a "classid" added or IFRAME methode. If there is no "classid" my non-adm account only sees a blank frame and icon in upper left. My administrator account does see ALL sources.
But how to fix that I can see all embeded as non-adm user - sorry, I have no clue
One extra thing: I noticed when running IExplorer as non-adm user, I can see a line in the process-list in windows taskmananger, process-name "FlashUtil10n_ActiveX.exe" with info-text "Adobe Flash Player Installer/Uninstaller 10.2r152" if I try to view a webpage with flash source.
If I do the same thing with my administrator user this process is not listed in windows taskmanager.

I have a big problem. I did a 10 second animation in Flash CS5 and exported to a swf file, but my client is asking me a to convert it to a video file with this requirements:
Size: HDTV 720P. (1280 X 720) pixels. 30FPS. (Frames per second)
Format: stream format: HDV-HD1. Stream Type: MPEG-2. Transport
Stream(TS). Aspect Ratio: 16:9. Britate Type: CBR (Constant Bitrate).
Number of passes: 1. Video Bitrate: 18300
I tried some conversion programs to do the job:
iWisoft Flash SWF to Video Converter
E.M. Magic Swf2Avi
Xilisoft Video Converter Ultimate 6
Total Video Converter HD
All of them recognizes the swf file fine, ( I set up the fla file with 1280 X 720 pixels and 30 fps) but when I try to export to a video format with the previous specifications using any of the programs, I get a very slow video, not smooth at all, and sometimes a large video with 2+ minutes (supposed to be only 10 sec). The swf file plays fine.
Any suggestions? thanks in advance.

Just open the original project FLA, file->export movie->AVI (uncompressed) and set the dimensions as you mentioned. After you get the movie exported from flash, convert that AVI (already the proper size) to the format you need.
If you have the Adobe Suite then you have Adobe Media Encoder. It supports MPEG2 (HDV-HD1 is just a specific set of settings for MPEG2). It's pretty darn easy to set up. No reason to pay for more software if you already have it.

3) or simply you can download DRIVER PAC SOLUTION and install it then after installation is done you might wanna restart the system and check performance again then it should desplay NEW HARDWARE DETECT REFRESH NOW then click on refreah and the rating is gonna go up from1.0.to higher than 4.0.

Technically, yes, it should be easy. However with rented videos you may be running into DRM (DIgital rights management) where you may not be allowed to play that video anywhere but on the iPad. The video could have a bit of programming in it that literally tells the HDMI or VGA output not to work.
One way to test the connection, with your ipad's camera, shoot a short video and try to mirror that. If it mirrors and the movie doesn't then it's likely that you're simply not allowed to mirror it. If it doesn't play then there may be something wrong hardware or setting wise.
